Gloves!!! When you wash your dogs, or put products at the end. All those chemicals are not good for your health. for bathing I use the "kitchen gloves" you can find the extra-long to cover your forearms. For grooming or finishing products I use latex gloves...and I re-use them. There's a finishing product U must have its call Cowboys Magic Detangler and Shine (concentrated 4fl bottle) It's like a gel like. I use it for de-tangle some areas but the touch and smooth feeling for your finishes is by far the best I've ever use. For really greasy ears I use a concentrated past called Orvus...Never used anything better than taha one...It's really strong So I use a little bit and Just on really greasy areas. A Hydro Surge is a game changer!! I have done mixing bottles and other shampoo delivery type machine, but any sunk pump type of bathing system is a must have for me now!!!!! That and the groomer helper grooming loop system.
Grooming Items I love and wouldn't want to groom without. Bathing Beauty! Hanvey Hairvac! LIPsystem, and WAHL KM10 Cordless. I have also loved the wide blades and clipper combs, we went with the ones from Affordable Grooming Shears I think but there are a few brands.
I forget to mention !!! yes, the Washing systems are a good thing. I use the Davis one, Once you get accustomed to use it washing dogs with bottles seems to be a waste of time and products ... though...I still use bottles for heads. The washer I have It's really strong and you need to practice well because you can plaster a small doggy with it🙄

Hey Crystal, I see this comment was a year ago and was just wondering how your speed is? What have you done to help improve it? The best advice I give groomers is to be prepared! Have a strict routine and stick to it. Make sure you have all the tools you need handy so you don't have to stop to get something. Follow your routine and be consistent. Try to not have to re-do things as it wastes time.. Also, instead of getting really "fussy" at the end, stand back and take a picture, it will show you quickly how wonderful the groom is so you can move on, or it will show you where you need to "fix" something then move on! Masks are certainly important, I have been grooming for 4 years and 2 years in I had fluid build up in my lungs from nail dust and hair! Had to get it drained out and that was not a fun experience. I'm just finally working up to opening up my own mobile grooming shop, your vids are so nice to see what reality of mobile compared to store front, random things I didn't even think about. Finally bought my van and trying to do all the conversions myself.

Yes, they can! I would also recommend a "Thunder shirt" it is a snug vest you put on the dog and helps them feel secure!
