Awesome video! I’m 21 and a current bather. I’ve had about two years of bathing experience and am also trying to get into grooming. I’ve been with my current salon for over a year but they recently switched owners (the other owner is the one who told me she’d teach me how to groom but then she just sold the business and dipped..). I have a strong grasp on the basics and have done a lot of bits and pieces of trimming besides an actual full trim (excluding my own yorkie that I groom but he doesn’t get anything special) which I’m dying to do. My grooming coworkers have agreed to help me learn but it’s frustrating because I have to keep waiting and waiting for the opportunity I was promised and it keeps getting pushed back until we have a stable crew again (will be a few months)😪 wish me luck on this journey though :) 🩷
We’re so glad that you enjoyed the video. Speaking from a shop owner perspective, they are very lucky to have you on the team. Someone who is willing to grow and learn from within, and it’s so nice that your coworkers are going to help you learn. You can always look into apprenticeships too. Whichever route you choose to do, we wish you all the best in your career. 🐾
It is definitely different. Here in the UK cat grooming is not part of the dog grooming course. I personally learned how to groom cats on my first job but not many salons offer this service 🐾

You are welcome 🥰 Let us know if you have any questions!
Do most dog groomers also know how to groom cats, or is it totally different?
