    Fascinating!
Good job mom and dad getting Lily a great trainer for Peaches.
Lily is going to be a great horse woman because you gave her the tools to master her love of riding!
She already has so much confidence, she will be managing Peaches a lot sooner than most kids her age!

Everything that the trainer just said about round frame, top line and pulling up their abs is absolutely spot on. I know this training seems lengthy and is probably expensive, BUT worth every single penny. If Lily wants to progress in her riding, THIS is the kind of trainer you want to be under.

My brother bought three horses for his daughter and himself. One was a beautiful buckskin named Buck. They soon found out his color wasn’t why he was called Buck. My niece rode Buck and he Bucked her off. She ended up with an injured arm. A horse can perform perfectly for an expert rider but take advantage of less experienced rider.

He did so well, on his 1st lessons. He is a calm horse & obviously willing to learn. He settles down quickly. Proud of you Lily & Peaches.

it should work just fine, especially with the ponies getting more time out on grass. when he spent time alone he was upset, then when he got Blaze for company he got very obsessive of him. You will need a mix of working time together and apart for them, it will work out. Training will also help with Lily's confidence- alot of confidence is just familiarilty with repeated experieince. I think Lily is growing also! have her teacher check her stirrup length, they seem a tad short.

Lily, I watched your short with the pony. You must be careful you dont put your horse in a situation where he distrusts you. You rode him into the deep creek and he couldnt swim because of your weight on his back which pushed him under. His nose went under the water and he panicked. He was not swimming as you thought. You could have gotten seriously hurt. Your pony is not very big. You are becoming a great trail rider, its lots of fun. I used to ride in the mountains for years. You would really enjoy a mountain trail ride, but mountain trails require going slow. Peaches would be perfect as he is taller and could cross rivers easily. Hope you are able someday to go on a mountain trail ride with a group of riders. You are very blessed with two beautiful horses. Your riding skills are getting awesome, bareback is work. Good job.

Great job Lilly!! Great job Dad! You guys have learned so much. This trainer is giving great advice. Peaches will need to relearn his bad habit of reacting. Then he needs his head down to develop loin stretch and strength to support his own body weight while moving. He needs to use his back legs more than his front legs. He will be naughty for a while until he gets stronger, relearns how to react and gets more confident. Going downhill requires a different kind of strength plus it puts more weight on his front feet and may be uncomfortable. So sometimes for now, try not to go down steep hills until he is stronger. Doing Great!!

Get ready to understand the term ...ENGAGE THE HINDQUARTERS. Eventually the trainer will probably teach you about how your horses will be stronger and happier when they learn to slightly shift their weight to the back legs and "engage their hindquarters" when moving. They will learn to use the bigger muscles in the back half of their body/back legs in order to propel themselves forward. It is a slight shift in the horses center of gravity that keeps the horse from being heavy on their fronts legs and requiring too much work from the smaller front legs and muscles. This is Horseback Riding 101 and is universally understood across all disciplines.

Nice job with the training.. Good job Lily with your confidence in riding! You and Peaches are becoming a good team together! You did well with Blaze as well!
The only thing I would say when rewarding with praise.. Stroking the horses neck and body instead of patting,/ slapping them, like the trainer was doing at times, is way more effective. Stroking with a nice long pet...not patting them.
    Keep up the Awesome videos!
I know all horse people have their opinions... Experience has its place and you are getting good instruction..
I've been riding all my life, 65yrs, & training most of my life.. Raised 40 foals and still have 3 horses, all siblings in my pasture, 24, 28 & 30 yrs young all related to first filly I raised in 1973, 51 yrs ago.. Horses are a lovely lifestyle when done effective for all to enjoy!

So this trainer seems like she knows what she's doing. Peaches needs better conditioning for sure, you could see that going downhill over time. I think if there had been a riding arena to begin with where Lily could work him without fearing being run away with across the pasture, that would have helped a lot - that is a tip for those considering horse ownership. They need a decent turn-out area and a safe riding arena and good nutrition. Even with a good trainer, Lily is quite inexperienced, relatively speaking, so this process is going to take time in order for her to regain her confidence and to learn some new ways to ride/train her horse. The really good thing is that Lily is smart and motivated and has a very positive attitude, so that will take her a long way. It also helps a lot that the parents are finally learning more about how this all works. Because this was not a horse savvy family to begin with, Lily had to make decisions about care and riding at home that ideally should have been made or in concert with someone more experienced, but kind of a case of you don't know what you don't know for the parents. It's really about providing a safe environment and not spending a lot of money on an endeavor you're not really ready for. I think there is good potential here for a positive outcome. Am very happy for Lily and where she is heading.

“ Someone got paid to do official research on patting or rubbing horses and resultant behaviours. They've concluded that patting is unnatural to horses while rubbing or scratching, particularly in the withers area is part of mutual grooming.” I keep coming across this information on various horsey sources. They seem to agree horses tolerate being “patted” but the don’t like it. The consensus seems to be rubbing, scratching feels better to them. What are y’all being told by your trainers and horse mentors? What does Peaches say? BTW Lilly is a joy to watch in her horse videos. She is a very quick learner, and explains herself very well 😁

This trainer is very good! I really think part of the problem is that Lily is small and young. When I learned how to ride my trainer would tell me to pull those reins tight and work the horse in a spin! They hate that tight circle. I rode western style. I forgot about the kick! I had to learn to out-smart the horse! Don’t be afraid! I swear they can smell fear, and then they can win. They hate, hate that spin. You’re gonna be a great horseman Lily!!!

I feel like the training concepts are sound, but Peaches could use some more basics. He seemed a bit confused at even the simple act of going out onto a circle. Also, bungees can be helpful but using them without doing the extensive strength building to make it possible for those muscles to be used effectively will still result in a weak and hollow horse. I'd recommend watching some videos by Ryan Rose for easy ground work basics and videos by Equine Helper for strength building! Both are free and on UA-cam. Good look on your riding journey!!

2nd post wrong trainer ❗️❗️again check teeth . Horses do not need talking to its feeling . Arthritis ask a vet. A crop from behind the leg is important to engage the hind. Children should not use spurs . A kids horses should just be forward and willing. HUGE mistake horse friends should not have to leave each other on a trail. NEVER push a horse into frustration to make a training point. Peaches needs a bit better food, nutrition. Endless hay .

Ground work, very important! Peaches needs an experienced rider. Lily will hopefully get there with this coach. 🙂

That was great Lily! The training of Peaches "Brown" will make him and you a great success.

I am thinking that Peaches was spooked at the electric fence, he seems pretty cautious about it at home and the trainer was walking along the E fence with the horse in it.

We always put the horses with the head in the direction we are travelling in.. we feel it is easyer for them to balance themselves during the ride..
I would ask about Lily's legs, I feel they are a bit to high.. maybe

You need to walk those ponies to cool them out until they stop puffing. Don't offer a puffing pony water, they can colic. Cool them out first.

Lily needs to have stable hand and seat to collect the horse and be able to working on horse pulling. Otherwise she will be punishing horse and confusing every time she loses balance.

Bad idea be careful with running martingale and youth . Usually will always create more problems . That pony is for fun /extra for friends and pony rides . It’s not for new riders ❗️❗️
