The beat switches is an SM entertainment thing it goes back to their first gen in the 90s (some other companies try to do it too), SM is known as a power vocal house and as leaders in the kpop industry plus for their passion toward music and as a trend setters, they experiment a lot, some of the famous experimental songs under SM : "i got a boy" by girl's generation, "zimzalabim" by red velvet, "sticker" by NCT, "wolf" by EXO and many more... some ppl find them hard to listen to i personally like them i always discover something new when i listen to that kind of music and i love it
Ok let me explain, this group in under SM entertainment and they have this concept of AI, people at first did not like it and for obvious reason, we didn't want AI to replace humans in the music industry, so the groups debut with 4 girls and 4 AI, but then we realize that probably that the AI part was never going to happen, may for lack of money lol those effects of the AIs dancing along with the real girls, NOO that was terrifying.

Aespa have a very iconic girl crush/ cyberpunk vibe and concept, Spicy was a complete change up for them, but now they're back to their edgier theme with Drama (one of my favourite, if not favourite Aespa song) but it has less of a cyberpunk theme
Spicys instrumentals are literally similar to next level it’s SMP the heavy synth and bass is so aespa lol there’s no change up-
Another group that does a lot of beat switches is nmixx.
Also I cannot wait for you to react to Mamamoo. They are all-rounders meaning everyone can sing, dance, rap, and honestly create that family atmosphere fans love. They were the first kpop group where all the members have successful solo careers. Mamamoo has to be one of the best, it's sad they don't get recognized a lot for it.

this is chronologigally right but story wise you would have to watch the smcu episodes first to get what happens in the MV cant wait for smcu season 2 were they explain the strange phenomenon in my world era and the breaking of their trauma in kwangya in drama era. Btw their concept is not kwangya its metaverse x real world. Kwangya is smcu and sms building name its an undefined place where all sm groups are its under their metaverse concept same as KOSMO where KOSMOzen. I’d say aespa only is the FLAT the world where all the thousands of aes live

if you were planning to do a part 2 or bonus episode, you should check out ’dreams come true’ which is different from their usual style, its a remake song. their newest song is ’drama’ and they have a ballad song flexing their vocals ’forever’. they also have english releases ’better things’ and ’lifes too short’. also very popular and well liked b-side songs are ’illusion’ and ’thirsty’ they dont have music videos but their music show performances for them are great !

Aespa is the first group to lure me into their lore. I think how to know them best is to watch the SMCU episodes likewhat the others recommended. It's not just about being a real person and an AI but they explained how almost each person has a different personality online. That's what they like to point out in their lore. Which I think is super cool and interesting. Hope you could check them out more! I really dig their concept ❤

Red Velvet is a group that consists of the double concept, their newest release clashes both. Their concept revolves around their name, surprise surprise. Their Red side is unique, poppy, and upbeat. Comparable to the typical kpop sound. Their Velvet side is just like it sounds soft in sound. Compared easily to the Rythmn and Blues sound now popularly used in the industry.

If you want some more cyberpunk vibes I would highly recommend Dreamcacher! „Odd eye“ and „Ootd“ have the heaviest vibe I would say and if you want some incredible dancing as well definitely check out „Demian“ (it’s a bside but it has a performance video)

Would suggest the first mini album "Savage" B-sides for the aespa sound. While some of my personal fav side tracks not on the Savage mini album are: Hold on Tight, Illusion and Thirsty.
It usually helps to understand aespa by going in chronological order for their MVs since they have a story line but SMCU episodes would be best to check out for the lore.
hey! i know this might not be a super popular suggestion, but id like to suggest you react to shinee at some point! they have a really powerful vocal line and such interesting music.
they are an older group (debuted in 2008), but id like more people to react and listen to the second gen groups! plus, shinee's song is still super fresh.

Ok, I'm not an aespa analyser so don't come for me but this is what I know about aespa and why r their music videos like that.
The group's concept is about 2 world "the real world" which the aespa girls live in and "the AE world" which their ae version "avatars" lives in. the AVATARS are created based on the data we have uploaded on the internet. They are the ones we choose to show to the world, the perfect online self which we can comunicate with .. etc
-In their first music video " BLACK MAMBA " we get introduced to the black snake which is "threatening existent to the world and a hindrance to the connection of aespa & 'ae', their avatars." She threatens the connection between aespa’s real-world members and their “ae” avatars, making it harder for them to communicate with each other.
We also notice in the music video where aespa members get to meet their ae Avatars after they travel to the ae world to fight the black mamba
- their second music video is " NEXT LEVEL " which continues the journy of the girls in the kwangya "ae world" , therefor u'll notice the lack of real world materiel and that the music video looks like an inside of a video game
- They continue their journy in the Kwangya world in " SAVAGE " , after they fall in Black Mamba's HALLUCINATION QUEST which is represented with 3D artwork
- " GIRLS " music video starts off with aespa challenging the Black Mamba, telling her that they are back in the world of KWANGYA and this time they are here to defeat her for good. They are no longer the weak girls of the past but stronger and more powerful . As the girls level up higher and higher, they defeat the minions of the Black Mamba in Girls music video. aespas concept is in their name, they have ai characters you saw in the savage music video. they have a whole lore and storyline throughout the music videos, and the lyrics give out the story too. basically theyre trying to beat the black mamba youre seeing. in chronological order it starts with ’black mamba’ then ’next level’ then ’savage’ then they had a single ’dreams come true’ in between which isnt really related to that, then ’girls’ and after that ’spicy’ they arent in kwangya anymore, which is the world they were in fighting black mamba in the earlier music videos, so thats why in spicy it looks ’normal’. then after that is the newest music video ’drama’. so yes theyre known for their ai concept. theyre also very talented singers, the best of their generation, and theyve definitely got the rap too.
oh and yes also theyre known for their experimental songs style, definitely sounds like 3 songs in one within some of their songs.

Aespa is literally my favorite girl group right now their concept is unique in the current kpop landscape and their bridges are so amazing. Aespa mean (avatar x experience) so they do have avatar versions of themselves and an entire metaverse concept. When they entire the avatar world or when naevis appears that when the beat switch will happen.
I love aespa! For me, the 4th generation of kpop it works like this
Stray kids- Best rappers
Itzy- best dancers
Aespa- best vocals
I don't know if you know about this, but kpop is divided into generations 😓 we are currently in the 5th generation that started this year

if you want real rapping in kpop, watch the GALX Xypher (Tape 2). They're a global girl group but they promote a lot in korea. Regardless, the girls can rap SO WELL
Can you do a P1Harmony reaction. Their music is so good and the rapping goes so hard. they have some of the best rappers in their group that I’ve Heard. Not to mention their vocalist are AMAZINGGGGG! Also nto to mention they are literally the epitome of Gen Z and it’s humor, especially Keeho (the leader).
