Just got the book after listening to this fabulous podcast and started reading it. I am in love with her style of writing and the words on the first page itself made me relate to her even more. I feel like this book was all I needed to get out my reading slump :)

Shehnaz was also my classmate at Xavier's (batch of 1995) so she probably just doesn't remember that the movie played in the cinema too. Fun fact: Dirty Dancing was actually released in 1987 and we all did watch it on video first because in those days, not all Hollywood movies would release in India when they were new... Many movies would come a couple of years later and only in the South Bombay theatres like Sterling, Metro, Eros, Regal etc. She is right about Pretty Woman though, it released in 1990 and came to the theatres here the same year. I remember watching it too,... I think at Eros.
