Bro you are a life saver I was building a website and didn't know about these things; I actually find it uncomfortable to watch the uneven designs and got the idea of visualization impression, this was so helpful! 💕💕
eye movement in desigbn. now i look at desigbn like where my eyes go first then where it directs. then i notice passive and active white space. this video is awesome!
I wanted to upgrade my existing portfolio... in terms of the presentation & all, but had no clue where to start... How to structure it, follow a chronology & other stuff in order to make it more interesting & appealing. This video came to my rescue, will surely help me a lot. Thanks a ton! Your new SUBSCRIBER!!
This is SO well put together! Ive been doing layout/poster design for about 10 years. I still felt a bit hazy when it came to positioning things and hierarchy, and for some reason I don't remember learning much about it in college. Grids are life changing! :)
I dont usually comment on videos but man you are on fire. You are well rooted in what you do. This is very informative. There is this psychological awareness the video just gave me all thanks to you.
and also, I dont know if there is a point in your career that you battled with imposter syndrome, I would love you to do a video on how you where able to tackle this. Thanks
Thanks a lot for the feedback, much appreciated! I haven't really had imposter syndrome full on. But like most people I did doubt myself a bit, especially when I saw what other people were making. But that's just part of the design world. Instead of getting jealous of other peoples good work, analyse it and see why it's functional and why it 'works'.
You are blessed with a beautiful voice. Thank you for the valuable knowledge you share. I am a data analyst and I create dashboards for data visualizations. I am looking for resources to learn how I can apply the design concepts including colors and the other necessary details. Appreciate if you could suggest the right resources including your videos that would help me learn. Thanks again
Thank you so much for the videos! The videos you made are just what I have been looking for. SO many videos are about how to use the tools, but the fundamental of design is the key to build everything! Love it! 🙏
An absolutely fabulous video, everything in a nice, neat and concise package... As it happens, just what I was looking for, as I have been noticing, with getting a little more experienced in graphic design, some of my designs were just looking a little bit 'off', even after several drafts to the finished artwork, there has been a little niggle with me, that the design could be improved, but I just couldn't quite put my finger on the solution. This video has definitely shown me a couple of areas that I know will certainly improve and balance my layouts and overall finished design, when applied. So thanks for this tutorial/overview, it will prove very useful....More like this please.
Thanks Satori, I Just watched your videos after a long time. Realised how much i missed your videos. Really Love your videos, the flow in which you speak and you teach "by example". Wonderful "Master Satori" 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
@@SatoriGraphics Yeah, actually I assumed it as the design style changed over few parts. This is the first video of yours that I have seen. Watching another one now. You are making great content. I am subscribing 💟
Wow, I will hold on to this video as a reference for a lot of ideas in graphic design, this is my second time watching it, but will certainly watch it every now and then. Good job.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 📐 Grid systems, such as column and modular, offer structure and versatility to layout design. 02:20 🔍 A strong focal point anchors viewer attention and starts their design exploration. 03:21 🌫️ Effective use of white space establishes hierarchy, prevents clutter, and enhances visual appeal. 06:33 🎯 Knowing the design's purpose and platform ensures it conveys its message effectively. 15:11 👁️ Guiding the viewer's eyes with shape and structure creates an engaging design journey. 18:30 🧩 Harmony in design elements ensures a positive viewer experience. 19:28 📐 Designs can evoke emotions through horizontal, vertical, or diagonal composition directions. 20:48 📘 Core principles in graphic design are indispensable, going beyond just layout design. Thanks really interesting. Good to see somebody actually mention theory instead of mmmmmmDesignThinking. There are a few errors: * 13:08 should say Passive space * 15:16 you don't discuss them in that order Also I'm a bit confused about Visual Tension. You define it as misplacing the elements as to create unease as if its a bad thing to be corrected but I think you intended to speak of visual tension as a theory (so the intended use of visual tension).
It would ever better if you make a tutorial or explanation or breakdown on HOW to use the Structural Net or how it’s used in building layouts and compositions giving examples and how to apply design thinking to the structural net I think that would be beneficial cause I’ve seen people talk about it but don’t explain how it’s used especially for beginners
5:24 I've been struggling with my designs lately and question what I got wrong? I started to look up videos and realize that I actually learned the principles and elements in school but I don't use them correctly or put too much logic into it in the field. Designers are often pushed to create works that are fast, but we aren't taught how to be efficient, or to think about the context
Amazing as always. I always learn something watching your vids Tom this time I learned a few the sad part is putting it into action is difficult because I'm a crazy unstructured artist my last few artworks have been using paint splatter and washing up liquid !!! put a grid on that !
Know who your customers are. As an industrial designer I would never do a fancy artsy design composition of a product design if my customer is an engineering based customer. Inversely I would never do a graphic design artwork that looks stoic and straight to the point to an artistic based company. The way the message is conveyed to the targeted customer is critical. Thus know who your customers are.
1:47 I didn't like the terminology, it's more common to call the outside as "Margin" and the inside as "Padding". Unless I misunderstood the entire picture there. Also, I would have liked to see a deeper dive on the size of the area. Like Mobile and Desktop, you would need to design two similar layouts but with two completely different feels.

that might become a thing
You are a great teacher
I am commenting to see more of your videos.

love your design, but prefer new content rather than mix of old videos
thanks for the feedback, check todays upload 👍
seriously very nice video. i love the content you created.
Glad you enjoy it!
Thank you for consistently delivering top-notch content!"
no worries :))
13:12 It is mentioned as passive white space instead of active white space
the best thing you can do for design is using math and geometry
13:05 the image shows "active white space" but it should read "passive white space".
Solid advice. Many thanks!

Can you make a separate video on Infographic design? This types of design is more complex in space and hiaracy.

love your videos!!! could you tell the name of san serif font you are using in presentation?
Hello!! is there a written version of the video? :)
13:07 I’m assuming that label should say passive? Got me confused there for a second :D
8:22 ! A mistake by your subtitle writer.
I am sure what you said was "satori graphics" not "photo-graphics".
grat job brother
