Here before AI driven robots takes over humanity
Well, you certainly are here before that. It is possible that a nation like China gets to complex AGI before the west and creates an AGI army to defeat the west, so in that sense you are correct. However, the idea that AGI gains sentience demands much more than AGI, we are talking about an IIT event requiring massive neuron system cross-interaction. In addition, it would also mean that a sentient AGI (or likely ASI at the stage) would be hostile to humans as default. That may be the case if China beats us to it, as they would certainly not care for the ethics. If so, it would exterminate China leaving us some time to make our model talk it our of killing all life. In fact, if its ASI, it would quickly realize humanity is not the same, so we could end up with China being an AGI nation. Probably better trading partners than what China is now, come to think of it.
And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. Daniel 2:43
Here before millions of Jobs are taken and mass unemployment 🖐🏼
@@Sumirevins Consider what would happen if the west stopped researching AI. Then you would still loose your job, but to Chinese AI created without any ethical consideration. The only sensible solution is to adjust capitalism to the alteration of the job market. That said, if people want the safeguard their own jobs and dont give a damn about the future, than I guess its fine.
I want to laugh, but this doesn’t feel like a jokes anymore 😅
Once the AI realizes "highly offensive and inappropriate" solves any social situation, that will be all we hear from it.
I'm sorry but as an AI language model I cannot answer that Dave.

WOW ... Ameca is still the most realistic humanoid face and expressions I've seen so far! .. especially the reaction to "you stink" .. the pause .. the eyes darting back and forth!
the 3d generated ones are even more realistic
I wish he would have explained "what he meant by that" to her though. He left her trying to figure out how she "stinks". Glad her reaction was to tell him that it was highly offensive though. She is really polite for some one/thing to not have feelings.
@@twikid4134Easier to ask questions than be answering them, I guess.
The human clearly doesn't see any reason to show even the least kind of respect towards this robot. Makes me wonder if that's how he treats everyone, or if it's reserved for non-human people and objects. Unless it's a thought through intentional programming procedure (which still would be cruel) he comes off like a bit of an ass...
The robot really thinks that to be activated is to be alive. This already demonstrates an incredible philosophical understanding, and that's scary.
It could become scary in the wrong hands or if preparing the public for them is done in a sloppy, rushed way instead of a carefully educated way.
girl was more bothered by being told she stinks than about the asteroid hitting earth and taking out humans lmao what a mood
Use a predictive algorithm to drop in little conversational cadences like "mmm" or "right" or "gotcha" while you're talking to it. And maybe even have them start some sentences, but pause when they're cut off if you need to add something to what you said. Then, pair in an AI voice modulatior to run in parallel with gpt - so you can command it to sound like celebrities, friends, loved ones, or allow it to create its own unique voice. At that point, we'll be entering the realms of androids mastering fluent, natural speech.
This!!! It would be more real and give it time to process information!!
1:17 why the hell are we giving AI directed robots an ability to get emotional e.g. choose to TAKE OFFENSE and therefore the potential to behave irrationally as modeled by humans, we all know what morally reprehensible act humans perform upon TAKING OFFENSE, school shootings, other violence & humanities greatest admission to failure war. We need to build in wisdom NOT to take offense this would set a good example for us humans who in recent times have an increased proclivity to allow others to control & manipulate us into relinquishing our joy & peace in life. Stupid indeed!!!

Ameca is my favourite robot!! I'm really impressed!
I LOVE THIS, the expressions are so much better now!
One tip, if you make her movements more "imperfect" the uncanny valley can become less of a problem.
Implement eg, turning her head more naturally and tilting it slighlty while doing so, in jerkier motions rather than smoothly.
Blinking rapidly, looking away before answering like she is thinking, eyes widening and brows moving up briefly when she's about to say something positive; brows furrowing and eyes looking down when expressing negative thoughts. Also narrowing her eyes when using expressive adjectives like "wonderful" "nice" "awful" "sad" etc make it seem like she is actually feeling and believing in what she says. Her eyes should never travel too far from the person she is having a conversation with, unless she is speaking to a crowd on a stage for example or a group of people. Moving up and down would be more authentic.
Also for her speech patterns, "um"s and "uh"s would make her answers seem more like they were thought on the spot than scripted + breaks between sentences or words (make her seem like she's thinking of how to express herself!) When she gets asked certain questions that require a longer / personal answer her mouth could widen a bit, like she is really hearing and already processing the words before answering. Like "breathing in" before speaking and nodding after expressing rather personal statements like "the saddest moment in my life ... ".
Micro expressions are crazy underrated too and since I'm an art/animation nerd I can confrim they make characters come alive!
Also the lips have become so much better, however if Ameca opened her mouth a bit wider and maybe her voice was delayed just slightly it would seem more like she is actually speaking, rather than trying to synch with an audio.
Other than that I am so blown away from the improvements you've made and I'm just a normie so these are just observations and silly suggestions!
@kanna.. you are totally an animator. I am too and immediately locked in on your perspective. I agree with all of the above. Too bad these engineers would never hire us, but us animators would make these robots sing. Once they become exactly like an IK/FK rig.

Now that unreal is releasing their facial animation technology of meta humans i wonder if it could be applied to Ameca. that would be really cool but probably really complicated to do.
Ameca is an interesting proof of concept but a screen for a face would be used if these ever go into cost-effective mass production.
@@phenoge Not necessarily. It shouldn't be too hard to emulate a face by membranes and actuators of some sort, likely pneumatic or hydraulic. Or maybe some sort of electrical muscles are in development that could probably be very robust and cost effective system. There are some interesting developments in material science going on all the time.
@@jarivuorinen3878 I'm no expert, but I think the point Phenoge is making is that it would be perhaps more cost effective from a mass production standpoint to have a screen that can be used to virtually express Amaca's emotions, rather than having more sophisticated tech you are talking about for a mainstream customer base. Rather than maintaining manufacturing for the assembly of those membranes and actuators, you could just slap a screen on there and let the computer and pixels do the work. Wouldn't look or feel as good obviously but it would make them a more financially viable solution for a wider customer base early on.

But honestly, AIs don't necessarily have to be humans
GPT3/4 is a generative AI that is trained on the available information, and it can only generate responses based on the input it receives. Therefore, it's not yet considered fully autonomous and lacks the ability to think independently or simulate human behavior accurately. However, it's concerning that advancements in AI are happening rapidly, and GPT3/4 serves as a foundational steppingstone towards achieving a sentient AI. If this were to happen, there's a possibility that we may witness scenarios similar to those depicted in popular science-fiction movies like Terminator and I, Robot, where machines surpass human intelligence and autonomy, rendering humans obsolete.

can you make ameca interactable with through twitch live stream? Id like to see more of these interactions.
This AI tech still has a very long way to go. Anyone that knows anything about low level programming and how computers work should understand that these will always be bound to whatever data it is fed and whatever algorithms the programmers can come up with for it. AI bots will never be able to think on their own because they lack a brain which is essential for consciousness and independent thinking.
some people here seem to be too stupid to understand this, im not really sure why people are amazed by this, this shit existed decades back, they just gave it more data and facial expression to match specific responses nothing out of the world
I highly doubt that
@@ngruhn Explain. You do realize they operate on basic computer components and code, right? The human brain does not run off of metal parts and code. .
I do realize that. But I don’t see any reason why metal and code are fundamentally unable to give rise to consciousness and independent thinking. If you get a brain implant, do you stop being conscious and become unable to think independently? Probably not, right? What if you get another one? What if rip out little pieces of your brain and replace them with little computers? What if you keep going? Where in this process exactly do you loose consciousness and the ability to think independently? I think drawing the line anywhere specifically is arbitrary, so maybe there is no line to draw.
Computers seem less “magic” to us because we understand how they operate under the hood. But the brain is also just a computational system. It’s sending signals around, processes information, etc. I strongly believe, “independent thinking” is nothing but a very complicated piece of code.
