Wow round 2 and it seems like this trail is wearing you guys down. Looked humid and sticky. Very challenging trail! Another great video bud! Can't wait to see pt. 3!
Another great day on the trail, Dan. Tough dealing with the rain sometimes. Stopping or pressing on is a tough decision when you have storms pending. Cool shot of the rattlesnakes. Have a great day.
Nice Dan! I just finished the LT yesterday, 5 day trip, west to east. I saw the same two rattlesnakes cuddled up in the same spot at kettle creek vista. I also saw a momma bear with 3 cubs on the road walk up to highland lake manor.
@@backpackingadventures4813 The trail is pretty difficult but it's certainly beautiful! We had some pretty severe thunderstorms just like you did, apparently the area is known for that. Thankfully all of my stuff stayed dry, but my buddies weren't as lucky.
Hello Dan, nice episode 2. You get up really early and pack up camp fast. You covered a lot of miles especially with the ups/downs, wet, slick trail. Road miles is kinda boring without any views. It is a hard adventure dealing with wet gear. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
Thanks John. Even though we were on the road, normally it is very scenic in that part but we were in the clouds that day. But it had its own beauty. We were pretty much wet from that morning until the end. Tough trail for sure.
I would get the Ramen Rescue from Packit Gourmet and then one day , why not make my own ? I did , using the Dehydrated Vegetable Soup mix from Harmony House Foods , Ramen from the grocery store and a small bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce I made mine. I even added some Harmony House dehydrated Cabbage ( 2 tablespoons ) because I like Cabbage. Using a Zip Lock Freezer Bag ( Quart size ) I have Vegetable Ramen with Hot Sauce. When I want to add meat , Chicken or Beef ( Both dehydrated ) from Packit Gourmet.
I was planning on some point to make my own ramen rescue type thing. It’s nothing more than dehydrated veggies and chicken and like you said I could get my own from the grocery store and use a ziplock bag. It’s on my list. It is definitely going to be a lot cheaper too.
@@backpackingadventures4813 , A lot cheaper and a lot more doing it yourself. Packit Vegetable Ramen rescue 0.6 oz vegetable pack $5.99. Harmony House Dehydrated Vegetable Soup mix 12 ounces $19.95. About 22 more meals and you have to furnish the Ramen for both of them.
I see snakes on every hike which the exception of during colder months. You have to just keep alert for them. Look and listen. I usually don’t see them before I hear them. When they are just of the trail to the side they blend in really well. When they are right on the trail they stand out for the most part.
Thank you for the tips. It is helpful. I plan on doing some hiking in the eastern Washington where rattlesnakes are present, so any kind information or tips are welcome. Listening would be my very first and the most relied on prevention. I also heard somewhere that keeping the tracking poll in front of me might help in case the snake strikes. It might go for the stick and not for the leg. I was just wondering… Since I saw those snakes on your backpacking trip. Thank you.@@backpackingadventures4813
You’re welcome! I do keep my trekking poles in front of me and kind of walk them along when I am in high grass, over grown parts of the trail and when there are lots of big rocks. Also, before I climb over or sit on a log I tap all around it with my polls.
He got water in his tent because he's using rover country trekker tent n it's absolute garbage. If it's not perfect weather ur getting wet for sure. I own two. The one person and two person and they are 45 dollars each so u get what u pay for lol. Hopefully he wasn't too miserable.
The rain came in from the side where he was pushing down on the mesh. Same thing would happen with my tent. He seamed sealed it before the trip and no water came in the seams. The next night of rain he pitched it up a little higher and didn’t hit the sides and stayed dry. But he is looking into upgrading his tent.
@@backpackingadventures4813 better than my luck. I seem sealed both of them multiple times over couple seasons and in more than a small sprinkle I get soaked Through. From the material even not just the seams. But then again I don't use mine anymore anyway because I hammock. But good luck to him n finding a good upgrade. Enjoying ur guys adventure thou.
@@stoicodysseys6352 I'm glad it works for you. Both the river county products tents I have only work in perfect weather even after seam sealing and coating. I'm not trying to downplay ur gear. And the durston is a good tent from what I've read also. The trekker for me at least is garbage. On the plus side getting a shitty tent confirmed my love for hammocking lol.

Yep. Tough files for sure. We were pretty much wet from the second day on. Thanks1

Thanks! The rain got worse the next day. Lol. But that’s all part of the fun!
Awesome! Yes to spam and No to the rattlers! 😎
Lots of snakes. Saw another rattler the next day too.
Cool video my friend. You guys are rocking the miles out!!
Thanks Jason! Tough trail but one of the best in PA

That’s awesome! What did you think of the trail? I was surprised we didn’t see any bears. I thought for sure we would. Great trail. Tough but great!

Thanks! I’ve camped at Sones pond several times. Really great place to camp.
I always stash food (🍺) back in small caves just off the pond 😉
@@bahamajim1998 now everyone know lmao.
Oh man racing the rain is never fun. You guys are doing great.
+Dragon Roams definitely get like running with the storms. But it’s that time of year for it.
