I respect your honesty about when you do something to a photo in PS or LR. That’s the magic of modern photography. Some disagree with it but it still has its place in the world of photography.
Personally love to see these kind of photos. I can learn a lot from seeing them. Keep up the good work.
Thanks so much!!! I’m so glad you liked them!!
At 9:55 is my favorite shot. Well done.
Thanks so much for watching and your kind comment
Great photos and video, as always 🙂
Removing stuff from a photo, or really, doing whatever one wants is allowed, it's your/our art but I think one should always be honest with what has been done, just like you are 🙂
Thanks so much!!! Yeah I agree with you fully
Great images, some really lovely work to be proud of, but the image of the woman smoking with gull in the background…..hell of a picture, truly outstanding and I don’t use that word lightly. Bravo 👏 👏👏
This means a lot!!!! Thank you so so much!
Hi Paul, lovely images. Just wondering with shots at such close proximity are you using the mechanical or electronic shutter on your Q2?
Even the mechanical shutter is so quiet! It will be mechanical
❤excellent images, Glasgow is way more interesting then london. love the attitude of the people. zen billngs in canada
It’s certainly very different from London!! There’s some characters there I tell you.
Love hearing the backstory on some of these!
Thanks mate! I think I may have bored everyone to death with this one! Glad you enjoyed it though.
No, no my favorite is the guy who looks like he's about to plow right through you. Sometimes tension adds a bit of drama!@@paulreidphotography
Awesome photographs! I love the TRI-X results. Pushed TRI-X looks really great. By the way AI removal is not that bad, sometimes it helps to rescue a great photograph. I would like to participate in your workshop some day. Unfortunately I'm not in UK, so I will need to cross that barrier first :)
Thanks so much! I’m loving Tri x so much at the moment! Would love to have you on a workshop one day
Love that backlight in photo 2.
Thanks so much!!!
Thanks Paul. The last shot of the woman and dog in the underground is great! Talk to us about crop! Are you sticking with the original aspect ratio, or cropping objects in or out? It seems like you are not too concerned about getting all of the subject in the frame, or leaving people and objects (cars, etc.) partially in or out of the frame. I like that because I prefer a tight crop on the subject, but I will enjoy hearing your comments. Thanks. Geoff
So my cropping is a maximum of 5:4 cropping if I believe what is on the left and right in 3:2 isn’t that relevant and that I would like the viewer to be drawn more to the main subject. Thanks so much for watching the video. I’ve kind of regretted making this one so detailed as I think it’s maybe not dynamic enough to keep people interested. I appreciate your kindness and that you continue to watch my videos even when I don’t feel I’ve done well with them.
Some of my photos are that way too. I just can’t seem to get them all perfect!
Great video Paul, we've spoken on the phone I'm from Manchester. I shot a lot of film and I've really struggled removing unwanted things on film, what software do you use the remove the guy, please? Don't forget if you fancy a day's shot in Manchester I'll make sure you're well looked after. I'd still recommend D76 for your B&W film, some great shots
So I used photoshop. I selected the area he was in with a lasso and clicked on the Ai generate! It works great most of the time
Cheers@@paulreidphotography
At 1:10 the subject is a good choice, then the right-side depth, people, and building are just right in every way. It looks like these lovely cities beg for depth on most images. At 5:26 the photo is balanced, but I would rather stand behind him and view what he is seeing. The 7:06 portrait is great! 8:11 is he related to the Naked Cowboy of New York, USA? :)) I enjoy your videos, thanks, Loren
Thanks so much Loren. I really appreciate your comments!!
It’s a shocking to see a phone booth. In the US many pay phones have disappeared because they get vandalized.
I know you use a 28mm lens. It looks like you like to capture the environment. That might explain why you don’t shoot much in portrait aspect.
Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
I should shoot portrait orientation more really.
