Fun fact about the blue, it comes from the non-photo colour blue sketches which don't show up when photocopied, allowing artists to scan their work without the sketch lines!

I love that this still works today. Scan it in, pull out all the blue in Photoshop, and you're good. It's also good for getting rid of blue lines from notebook paper
For those who are wondering where to get non copy pencils or leads, Pentel Multi 8 comes with 2 non copy leads one in red (diazo non copy) and other in blue (PPC non Copy). The leads are 2mm and you can buy them separately as refills instead of buying another pencil cartridge if you already own one.
@@nywf1824 You can also get the col erase pencils in different colors, including the non photo blue
Which explains why a lot of artists sketch in that color! I've heard about the non photo blue before but I'm just now realizing that is why a lot of artists use it for sketching! Before I just assumed that it was a personal preference, and I guess it still could be considered a personal preference, but now I know the reason behind it! Thanks for sharing! 😊
I just love artists supporting artists even if it's in small ways - wearing tenhuns shirt and using jazzas art box! Just love how wholesome the UA-cam art community is !!
My tip for alcohol markers is to use water-based medium for line work, and make sure it's dry. Vice versa if you're using 💧, use alcohol-based fineliners.
Using same fineliners with your colouring medium will just try to blend and smear I find.

Definitely do a black marker challenge. I would aldo like to see you master hair and fur then maybe do a different ways to colour/approach hair/fur study.

You know you really have a pop art with the completed challenge...with all the different styles placed next to each other. I love that! The color pencil art is my favorite but I'd love to see an impressionistic version. Fun!
My recommendation with the word drawing as someone who has done a massive one for an assignment (poster sized) is the key to make the shadows look like shadows is either use different tools like pen and pencil in the lighter areas or to overlap the words in the shadows

That was one of my favorite too! I love pixel art in all its forms... but I am a fiber artist, so a lot of what I do is piecing "pixels" together in one form or another.
I love pop art and, of course, colored pencils. This was fun!!!!

I did something similar when I tested out all my art mediums with a teddy bear. I didn't even *know* how to do detail work at the time, I was just testing how the pens & pencils worked on the paper. Very fun! Some of them were caran d'ache.
I love how daring you are! While you were about half way through, I wished you would do one in the style of 1970’s concert posters. Then you did pop art!!!! That one and typography are my two favorites! Thanks for doing this! So much fun!

Your brain is so creative. After watching your livestream and learning so much about your history with art, I've been a bit motivated to whip out my pencils and a coloring book and sit down with them :) Even though I haven't picked them up, I approached even picking up pencils differently than I did before, going in with a lighter hand and embracing a more "realistic" coloring style with shading vs just blocking in color like I did before. I'm having a lot of fun curled up in bed with a tray table and a pile of art supplies in the evenings 😊

Went into this thinking the pixel art would be my favorite, but the typography blew me away. Very surprised on how pretty the ballpoint pen came out. I love all of them. The colored pencil one of course will win hands down, but the others outshine them for the creativity. Thank you for sharing your art

I think the pixel art and the pop art are my favourites! I’d love to see you take on stippling - I swear it doesn’t take as long as you think.. still takes a while though 😅

i love the colored pencils the most , but i love the variety . this video is a burst of fresh creativity . Colorfully Optimistic channel , has a whole playlist about coloring hair if you feel like making it easy on yourself for Once . 😘
Absolutely amazing. All of them are so very different and unique. I love love the popart and the pixel art one since they took you out of your comfort zone and pushed you.
For the popart. I don't use markers, but I use waterproof ink with a old fashion Inkpen and thin brush. Let them dry for a while or use a drying tool before going in. Otherwise the alcohol lifts it off.
Love the Colored pencil one the most, runner-up is the pixel art that was really cool.
My favorite? Easy, all of them - each for a different reason.

I think it turned out really cool, and did some thing I want to try now. I was surprised at all the variation you were able to achieve using just a ballpoint pen! ♥️♥️♥️
I really love doing this because sometimes I can't choose the color scheme because the way you color something sets the personality and feel, theme, and sorry for the whole character, object, or subject. Giving a girl blonde hair or red hair, or what skin tone you give them can really change the overall feel of the entire subject.

Well that's dedication, for sure. My favourite is the scetch style. I like how pixel art turned out and the coloured oencil, of course, is the classic.

The Pixel art. It's not normally my thing, but I think it's the lack of any harsh lines/lines in general, and the colours you chose are just so soft and pretty

Can't pick a favorite! All turned better than I expected (the colored pencil I already knew would be great), but the Pixel art turned out way better than I could envision. I would never had the patience- I would have been out before doing the graphs LOL! You inspire me to do it (but maybe not).😆

Another great video! I loved the pixel art and I loved the pop art...in just the black and white! I also would like to see the typography done with different colors for the words instead of just in black and white. I think that would be beautiful.

My favorites are the Pop Art, Pixel Art, and the Stencil pieces. I love that you went out of your comfort zone by experimenting with various styles. I think you could combine the Pop Art with the Stencil style by using colored pencil halftone dots in the stencil shadow area instead of solid black. I think it would look really cool!

I loved the pixels the most. Part of it is the color palette you chose, but I also love the texture. I cross-stitch, so maybe that’s why.

I think the pixel style one turned out really well, I very much did not expect that loss of resolution to have a good result, so that is my favourite. The pop-art is probably next. And I also think you did such a good job with the ballpoint pen one considering that they are designed to be a uniform, consistent stroke all the time - it must have taken a lot of concentration and effort to use that particular tool for this purpose.

I only use one coloring style, so this is amazing to me. The pixel art made my jaw drop. I'm also impressed how well the typography one worked out. This challenge would be good for style exploration.
