Did you notice that a lot of those pieces on the arms were kind of loose and easy to flop off? It looks like those pieces might be compromised in that respect. Sometimes it's an unfortunate byproduct of these UCS sets, but it's always nice when they get the details right in addition to an all-around solid build!
I cannot wait to pick this set up very soon today, and the video with the top notch editing that makes this set look ominous at best just raises up the hype even more!!!!
Great Review!! Really appreciate the comparison with the play-scale one from the Fang Fighter pack. Am currently debating whether the play scale one will suffice for me or if I should spend up for the big one, especially this week with the Lego store bonuses.
While the set is very detailed, its also very fragile. I've had mine collapse into rubble 3 times while building it. There's far too many pieces being held on by only one stud. Having to build it on the stand was a horrible idea as the stand falls apart very easily, the wing sections can slide off of the pegs causing disaster, and there's no locking mechanism to keep them on. With the weight of the wing, this is a huge oversight. After having to put it back together 3-4 times, I now have several pieces left over that I have no idea where they go. Its a beautiful build once its done but just the thought of moving it from the table to a display area makes me very nervous.
Nice video ,maybe you can remake the cover of the box by taking a picture of your TIE and photoshop the background ,could be interesting for an other youtube video
Just completed this, with a lot of frustration! It looks impressive, but certain elements on the wings just annoyed me. To the point that the whole thing collapsed when putting on a plate!!
I think more minifigures would be great since lots of people would love it and the people who don’t would just have more figures which wouldn’t really be a bad thing anyway
I just can't get over how much I hate the straps and the back of the cockpit. They keep making these ucs display on the stand the wrong direction to look at also. The straps on the ball make me think of a sling shot ride at the amusement park. It just really screws up the immersion for me. The wings are incredible, but the only part of the set I like, so I may not decide to purchase this one next year before it retires.
Ugly design, bad execution, looks like a unicorn vomited inside the set, cheap box, stickers, and worst of all mind bogglingly overpriced. Another disappointment from Lego, just going further down the drain… Buy Bluebrixx, Pantasy and other competitors because Lego has obviously gotten too comfortable.

I don't like the Tie Interceptor. Big wings and looks in UCS size pretty ugly. I prefer the polybag. But the pilot is cool.
