I've said it before and i'll say it again, you're awesome at what you do! I appreciate you taking the time to make these videos and show the techniques. Amazing job!
I just wanted to thank you because I checked out about 20 books for wire weaving from the library, but it is nowhere nearly as helpful as watching these videos. I just finished my first wire weave with some fused glass that I made and it looks incredible. There's no way I could have done it with just the books, so thank you!
Your voice and accent are so calm and encouraging. You also share practical methods on keeping even spacing and tension, which is where I have difficulty. Well done.
I love how you use the smaller gauge wire to secure the bail vs. The way I've been doing it with larger wire and creating WAY too much bulk around the bail. Great technique for, like you said, when you have a cabochon that you don't want to cover with too much wire work. Thank you so much for your tutorials. I learn so much!
I absolutely love the way you make your videos. You have taken the time to carefully explain in complete detail exactly how to do each type of wrapping technique. It makes it easier to understand just how to do each technique and what to expect to occur if I did something wrong. Thank you so very much. This helps me learn more about what I am doing wrong while I am designing a piece.
I simply love watching your very inspiring tutorial and hearing your soft soothing voice. I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so much for sharing your art with the world.
Following the advice you gave at 21:00 regarding "guiding" the wire as opposed to "pulling" was the absolute best tip ever! 👍 It really helped me to maintain a consistently sized bezel weave. My weaving wire wasn't on a spool and I broke it half way through, and I didn't allow enough to weave the bale but I think it's going to be ok as long as it never comes apart. I'd feel better if I had been able to weave without piecing it together but I wasn't going to start over when I seemed to be doing so well. LOL! 😄 But even with rubber tips, my clamp had a very tight grip and scratched the base wire. This is where your tip really paid off for me because it allowed me to weave without the clamp. Now I'm finished wrapping my White Buffalo Stone except for weaving the bale. Thank you sooooooo much! You're a rock star! 😉
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have polished many stones then just store them in boxes - afraid to go to the next step - making jewelry. Your teaching style is just right for me - slow and easy and I will enjoy more of your teaching - Again, thanks much!
Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I was looking for a birthday gift for a co-worker and she had mentioned wanting one of my wrapped crystals. With my intent in mind a beautiful rectangular piece of raw amethyst said it wanted to go to her. Completely clueless on how I was going to wrap it I snatched it up. Without you I'd still be twiddling my (insanely sore) thumbs trying to think of how to do it. You've made my day with your perfect explanation and thorough walk through. Thank you thank you thank you!!
indie0gal That sounds so great. I'm really glad it was helpful. Hehe, so your gemstones talk to you as well ;-P I'm sure she will love whatever you make. Personal present are always the best :-)
I don't do jewelry, but I ran across your video, I really enjoyed just watching you work, and you have a beautiful eye for designing. thank you so much. I will be back for more.
i did this with 1mm ironwire and 0,5 brasswire and wrapped a dragoneye that I made and it looks soo great! thank you a million times for this tutorial!!
Fantastic tutorial! I wrapped a piece of amazonite that was semi-flat but not cab cut. My wires did bend a tad along the way, but it came out quite lovely once I fit the bezel to the stone. THANK YOU for sharing these. A very relaxing and rewarding process. Next up is a slice of fossilized coral! I also really love how secure this keeps the stone.
Thank you so much for your tutorials. It is so clear and at the right pace. You are so thorough in explaining every step and the reasons for it that it is an absolute pleasure watching it. Much appreciated!
I so enjoy your tutorials step by step instruction, at my age that is very important in creating a piece that looks great as opposed to a hot mess! thank you for your time to make these video's.
Awesome tutorial! Your tutorials are a little long in my opinion, but that is better for people who don't do stuff like this very often. Thank you for showing this technique, I will be using this for sure!
I would love to give you more than 1 thumps up!!A great tutorial, and just in time. My husband has created a few Polymer Clay Cabochons, but I want to wire wrap them and use them for my Kumihimo braids. Thanks so much for your inspiration and for letting us enjoy watching your techniques.
the clamp is a fantastic idea! I've done a bezel like this but I was frustrated because I couldn't keep the wires the same distance apart. ugh. can't wait to try it again with the clamp
THANK YOU! Beautiful--- much needed for lapidary pieces my father made years ago and soooo much easier than creating bezel w// torch and backing and all...not to mention more interesting!
Absolutely gorgeous! I just tried it. Oh boy. It is hard to hold the wires straight, and when done. It was some loose wires at the end, and crooked.awwww You make it look so easy... You are very creative!!
Thank you so much for doing all this! I binge watched many wire-wrapping videos, and yours are awesome! Great projects, beautiful pieces, clear concise directions, and I adore your lovely, lilting voice.
I have a piece of Australian boulder opal I’m going to try this with, and I’m working on a pendant that I’m thinking about using this technique on. Love your work. 🙂
Thank you for the tutorial so great I just have one question though. In the beginning when you are starting the weave you put quite a bit of the wire through the spring clamp and then start weaving. How do you know how much wire you need to put the spring clamp and where do you need to start the weave?. I hope my question makes sense. 3:54
Love this!! I did look on the website you order your wire from. From what I could see, they didn't have the big spools like the ones you have. They only had the smaller spools. I love your videos!! THANK YOU for sharing how to do your work!! :)
Milagro70 Thank you very much. No they don't have them very often anymore, so I am also trying out a different wire supplier myself. I am currently trying out wire from www.wires.co.uk and I've heard a lot of good things about them, so hopefully that will work out :-)
You do really beautiful work. Making a piece like you have done is not as easy as it looks. My base wires keep bending. Any suggestions? I used a clamp like you did and also also a ring clamp. I am practicing in copper. Is working in sterling silver easier? I am having trouble in paradise. Yikes! I also used 24 gauge copper for the weaving wire. Does the minor thickness of the weaving wire make a huge difference?
Have you ever used some type of ice instead of the clamp. I am a beginner and used a lousy clamp and started well and starts going all over the place with my wire. I think it would be better if I had something holding the end firmly for me. What do you think?
Nossa esse trabalho é lindo mas ao mesmo tempo bem trabalhoso, exige paciência e saber manusear esse tipo de fio. Não é fácil não. Parabéns pelo trabalho que você faz
woah thats beautiful i'd neverrrr have the patience for this. i am terrible with wrapping wire i wish i was better :( guess it takes a lot of practice it looks easier then it is until you actually attempt it :P
Thank you for an excellent tutorial. I would like to do this in sterling silver so was wondering how much of the 0.4mm wire to buy so as not to spend too much. Thank you.
Wonderful tutorial. Very easy to understand and it is well filmed so you can follow the steps. I am trying to find out what those clamps holding the wire are, and where I can find them. All of the CSL design tutorials are great.
bambispoco Thank you very much. They are spring clamps, and you can find them in DIY shops/hardware store, or online like ebay or amazon. I bought mine online for a really good price :-)
Thanks you so much for the information. Would you be interested in moving in with me so you can help me with my jewelry? LOL. Thank you again, wonderful tutorials
Yes. But it is quite a while ago so they probably don't have them anymore. Don't know if they might get them back or not. Maybe try and look on Etsy or somewhere like that and see if you can find something similar.
Very sleek & elegant. I always learn so much from your videos, thank you for sharing your talent! Was this sterling wire or craft wire? I have some earthy toned agate that would probably look better with copper wire. I can't wait to try this!
Kathleen Schell Thank you very much. The wire I am using is a copper based wire that is coated in sterling silver and then an e-coating that makes it hypo-allergenic and helps prevent tarnishing. Your design idea sounds lovely :-)
Hello! Love your channel & I've just actually started wire wrapping myself & going to have a go at this design :) Is there any advice you could give to a beginer please x
Hello, as you live in the UK, and I live in France, I must ask where you buy your spools of wire? Also is it silver plated copper or something else? Thank you!!
Felicitaciones, eres exelente, estoy aprendiendo mucho, algún día me gustaría hacer trabajos tan excelentes cómo los tuyos, un gran abrazo desde Reus Tarragona Catalunya!
hi ms. catherine, hehe..am i right? been following tour videos by the way.. and made some out of it... you make a very detailed video and easy to follow for a beginner like me.. ;-) anyways may i ask where did you buy that tool that hold your wire in place? and what is it called.. thank you
Hi, I wonder if you could tell me where I can get one of the set of clamps you use when you Do your wirework please ? Sorry to pester I'm new and incredibly passionate about wirework xx Many thanks x Dawn xx
sleepinbootieify No, don't worry about it at all. You can find clamps like that in most DIY/hardware stores, but also online. You can find them on eBay or Amazon as well. Hope that helped :-)

This is exactly what I needed, I hated covering up the agate bands.
You are a very good teacher! Thank you!
Thank you. You are very good. I appreciate the tips and you were very conscious of staying on camera.

You are brilliant! This tutorial is fab. I have many cabs and geo slices that I would love to do this technique to. Thanks so very much!
Thank you, this is exactly the mount I was looking for to use on my project.
I love this tutorial. Could the same thing be done on say a triangle shape cabochon or others that are square or a little irregular? Thanks.

+CSLdesigns where did you get the cabochon?
I got this one from www.jewellerymaker.com.
+CSLdesigns Are you sure because I couldn't find it there?
Yes. But it is quite a while ago so they probably don't have them anymore. Don't know if they might get them back or not. Maybe try and look on Etsy or somewhere like that and see if you can find something similar.
is it copper or what kind of wire do i need? please answer nice work by the way
If you have a wooden ring wedge clamp you can use it as well in place of the spring clamp.
Absolutely. Whatever works :-)
Nicely done; love the look, couldn't tell you made that; great job,
helped my pendant piece & cabochons, Thaxs for tip needed,

Hello! Thank you so much for sharing your excelente job.Could you tell me what the clamps you use to hold the wire are called?
Do you mind sharing where you purchase your wire? Was this sterling silver wire?
how the heck do you stop the 18g wires from moving? I keep trying with my clamp, and it keeps moving making it look messy! (sigh)
Looks really lovely; thanks for sharing! 😊
Use a bead to make sure your spacing is even. While creating the wire bezel

Hi,
I wonder if you could tell me where I can get one of the set of clamps you use when you
Do your wirework please ? Sorry to pester I'm new and incredibly passionate about wirework xx
Many thanks x
Dawn xx
sleepinbootieify No, don't worry about it at all. You can find clamps like that in most DIY/hardware stores, but also online. You can find them on eBay or Amazon as well. Hope that helped :-)
please what kind of wire do you use?
"Weaved" isn't a word but ""woven" is!
I enjoyed this! I'm gonna try this.
Where do you get your silver wire?
WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR BIG ROLLS OF WIRE LIKE THAT ❤️
Wonderful video! Thank you for sharing!
