I was at the previous years divisional playoff where we held B.Sanders to 0 yards. It was FRIGID that game too. But we lost to Dallas the following week. This HAD to be AMAZING.

I remember watching this game over at my parents house with my wife. My mom was cooking burgers and brats on the grill. Never saw my dad so excited! We lived through the "lean years" of the 70s and 80s. Seeing the Packers win the NFC Championship and the Super Bowl for the first time in my lifetime!

Ive been watching AFC-NFC championship games here on youtube over the last week from the 80s & 90s- there is no comparison to the intensity of the crowd noise excitement every time the Packers make a big play or TD to the other games ive watched. The Closest thing to the noise of this fan intensity and Excitement was the 1985 NFC game at Solider Field when the Bears won it.
Packer fan since 1966 got to talk with Ray nitschke he signed a picture of him rookie year, standing beside Vince Lombardi. I've watched Tons of packer games. Looking forward to the2020 season. Go pack all the way!

I wanted that match up so bad as a Cowboys fan. I think we would have lost comfortably in the NFC championship, but it would of made for a hell of a story if the Packers had choked at home. The Cowboys defense in 96' was capable of winning against anyone. Unfortunately their offense shit the bed all season, especially without their best player Michael Irvin who cost them home field in the divisional missing 5 games suspended at the start of the season, but most importantly he got hurt in the first possession against the Panthers and we had nothing at WR behind him. The Cowboys down the stretch that year beat the Packers, 49'ers and Patriots all on the strength of incredible defensive efforts.
This game was magical. Still puts a smile on my face everytime I watch these highlights. Just like Favre said this game meant more than the Superbowl, it really felt that way. This one was special.
Depite the loss it was one of the best long weekends of my life. Packers fans were pretty cool too. Not a lot of nonsense. And of course - the Super Bowl should be in New Orleans every year. Best city for it by far.

The Pack did Risen dirty. That guy had some off the field issues in his career, but when he hit the field in GB I believe he was ready to be great. Bears fan here. I think it's quite unfortunate that the Packers didn't win more Super Bowls with ace QB Brett Favre. And now it's possible that the Packers may not win another Super Bowl with QB Aaron Rodgers.
