Thanks for this video mate. I turned on my second compartment just before a trip and found that it had the exact same issue - wouldnt read below 14deg. I was able to go to a local dometic repair shop - and get the parts and paste free of charge under warranty to fix it myself before heading out - as booking it in could have taken ages! Simple repair had it sorted in under half an hour thanks to your info - cheers
Sorry mate, no part number. I was just given the thermistors themselves. If your in Australia, call portable fridge solutions they have let numbers for them. 07 4032 2060
Local Auto Aircon or refrigeration place will have these. If not search for Waeco DOMETIC Thermistor online for your correct fridge model, they are a little cheaper online 👍🏻
Thanks for the video. My smaller side is working fine, the larger side thinks it's 138 degrees F and it just freezes everything, pretty sure I need to replace thermistor but I only need one not both. Do you know which thermistor is the larger side of the fridge, the short thermistor or the long one?
Hey mate have you ever tested how many amps your cfx75 uses when having one side on O and the other on -15 ? I’ve got a cfx95 and it’s bloody power hungry when running one side freezer one side fridge ! The cfx95 has a larger compressor than the rest of the waecos and on my recent trip over to Moreton island two weeks ago was pulling over 6 amps during the day so thinking about getting the cfx75 if it’s better on power ! Cheers Chris
Hey Chris, That’s interesting mate, I originally considered the 95 but couldn’t fit the foot print in my drop slide. I have heard that the 95DZ sucked a little more juice. I’ll set it to those temps and message you tomorrow on the exact draw if you’d like. Let me get back to you. Cheers Mat
Hey Chris, just been running my 75DZ today with small zone 0 deg and larger zone at -15 The most draw I recorded was 4.5amps the least being 3.5amps Is pretty average tropical north Qld summer day here 30degrees and 73% humidity Hope this helps. If ya want any more info hit me up on Instagram or Facebook message Cheers Mat
@@MatTwentyEight cheers Mat yeah that’s not too bad for a dual zone been told the cfx75 is better on power than cfx95 so will probably start keeping an eye out on market place for a second hand one ! I’ve had the cfx95 for 5 years now and it’s run none stop as a drinks fridge on the deck when it’s not on the Ute and haven’t had to replace a thing on it so sort of don’t won’t to let it go- might even look at a lithium setup with bigger dcdc charger to compensate for power draw and to replenish quicker than the 170agm and bcdc 1225d setup I have now. A lot of people will knock the waecos but they are a great fridge I also have an old cf60 that’s over 10 years old going strong only ever had to replace one thermistor on that about 12 months ago 👍 Cheers for the reply enjoy your travels
Yes Craig, I’ve sold it since but will Be buying another. I wouldn’t say I’ve used it as much as some but for the trips I did I was happy with its draw and ability to keep consistent with freeze and cool
Hey John, www.everythingcaravans.com.au/products/thermistor-for-waeco-portable-fridge-cfx-range-thermister The 75DZ has 2 thermistors obviously because of dual zone. Make sure you replace the correct one or both, one is shorter and one longer, they have different coloured plug connectors. Hope that helps, cheers
Instead of leaving the lid cracked to stop mould I pull the drain plugs out of the bottom and close the lid. I have five Waeco’s and never had mould doing that.
@@MatTwentyEight got it repaired in Darwin and they think it was moisture. Had it running on -20 from Melbourne all the way up to Katherine then it spat the dummy was showing -8 but a secondary thermometer was showing -17 Was told they should never be set below-15 in 30+ temps. They said it’s extremely common with the cfx dual zones so it kinda looks like their may of been a bad batch or could be incorrect use who knows. I’ll probably pick up a spare now that you’ve shown me how to replace it. 🤙

Glad to hear mate. Seems to be a common problem. A spare might be handy hey!
Dude, good on you to get into it. Solid vid, and happy travels. Gold cheers from NZ
Thanks legend 👍🏻
Very helpful video! I just had to change my thermistor, and Dometic sent directions for a completely different model.
@@bretthawton glad you got something out of it 👍🏻
Thanks mate. Saved me a painful trawl around UA-cam to work out if I could sort it myself. Parts ordered.. Stay safe..🐨🇦🇺
Hopefully you get it sorted mate, cheers 👍🏻
Good video. I’m away camping now and have found everything frozen and some drinks have exploded in the fridge. Will do your fix as soon as possible.
Bugger mate. Could potentially be the thermistor. Good luck
I’ve had soooo many problems with my CFF45 Dometic fridge in my campervan. Definitely should’ve bought an Engel.
Thanks! Do you have replacment part number?

Hi I got the same problem now did you figure it out what was the issue? Thanks
How much did you pay for your thermistors?
It was a while ago sorry mate. But I believe around $70-80 AUD.

I am struggling to get the vent off without breaking it. Did you just slide the back piece down without worrying about the port cords? Thank you!
Sorry mate totally missed this, hopefully you manage to get it off in 1 piece
Hey what model makita impact is that??
Not too sure sorry. Was a Bunnings special 🤣👍🏻
Having spent some time with your fridge up north would you still recommend the CFX 75DZ for high ambient temps? great vid too.

Good call Kelly, will give that a crack, might save my lid springs 👌🏼
Had the exact same problem on my CFX3 75 less than 6 months old. Just remember Engle don’t make a real dual zone 🤪
What do you think causes the issue? I've heard moisture. Yeah mate hard to beat the Dual zone design for fridge freeze set up

can ANYONE provide the darn part number?????
Prob should where gloves for the heatsink paste. It's not good to get on your skin. Nice fix though !!!
True?? 😬 good to know cheers dude, fingers arnt black yet 🤞🏿🤣will remember for next time but!
Yeah was thinking the same. For anyone else reading this some brands of heat transfer paste are actually carcinogenic.
Yer yerh ask some aboriginals they know all the old ways.
And yes you should have. Unless you like having fridge issues.
Engels have issues too some just don't like to talk about them
