I can't wait to see the project. I have an AA in Family and Consumer Education. I had a choice of two majors in that degree: Child development or Clothing Construction. I chose Clothing Construction. It took me 17 years to get the degree as my family came first so I had to work around my children's schedules. I wanted to go on to get my BA, the local university didn't offer anything in clothing history or construction or anything else that I could go further on. All my education now comes from UA-cam now as my mobility is severely limited. My right leg had to be amputated last October. Thank you for posting your UA-cam videos I learn a lot from them and enjoy them very much.

I'm working on dress #9 and I was so confused about the front closing, and I couldn't find ANYTHING about it in all the normal places. I'm so glad you made this video!!!

I think I had this impression, partly gleaned from my parents' experience of growing up in the eighties and partly just due to the general, flat view of history that is necessary for most of us, that ours is the first era to break out of the singular fashion cycles that dictated everyone's wardrobe. So neat to discover creative variation where we had assumed total conformity.
It’s not a Watteau pleat unless it’s from the late 19th century. It’s only confusing when you use it on a sack dress, the context is incorrect. We don’t know if you’re talking about a tea gown or a Georgian dress. That term is very specific to a time.
Very interesting , i feel like i have seen pictures of this kind of dress but never really gave it much thought ! Thank for noticing and talking about it.
Also, i think you mispronounce engageante by missing a syllable (unless it's supposed To be different from french?)
