ever since item rework i feel like ad/haste stacking build can be better for traps. Sure theres no 40 haste giving ad item but still might be better
this is so funny because the point of building ap is for the 100% scaling but... jhin is the only champion that gains a massive amount of ad to the point where its comparable with ap, and he also gets a 120% ad scaling for the traps. so instead of 800 ad traps you have 800 ap traps doing basically the same thing except you also do no auto damage

Lol I just tried this and i carried hard, got a penta first try. I did my own build though. The jgler kept stealing my cs in lane and blues though i did report them. Might give it a 2nd game, but I feel people have to be pretty stupid to walk into the traps lol. But 3 people stepping on my traps going all on me as a zhonyas is hilarious and getting a triple kill followed into a penta LOL.

It's been 5 years and people still have yet to realise that Jhin's E has higher AD scaling than AP scaling and that the thing that makes them one-shot people with traps has nothing to do with building AP but rather it's just the fact that stacking a billion traps on top of each other will make health bar go brrr.
the thing is that ap can get much higher than ad, so even tho the scaling is lower, the damage can be more
@@darrenpai1279 That would be true for any other champion, but not Jhin. Jhin gets AD from bonus attack speed and crit so it is very common for him to get around 800 AD while building normally. So at worst if you build AD the trap damage is the same except you're not complete shit.
I didn't want to get all maths-y in the video (since it demonstrably ruins my viewer retention in the past lol), and you're not wrong. For traps, full build lategame AD vs AP is fairly close. With AD beating AP.
However, Jhin's AD curve is exponential, with attack speed increasing his AD by an amount of his AD. Traps scaling with AP is linear. If you're a complete smooth brain like me who just wants a whacky trap build, an AP build yields higher damage throughout the early game and into midgame for oneshotting people since you dont rely on multiple items to scale together. AP adds a fixed amount of damage to the traps for a fixed price. Plus, traps are more likely to succeed in the early game with limited vision tools and defensives to get around them.
But a build's strength isn't judged solely on how well he can cheese someone with one particular ability and accounting for a complete champion design, AD Jhin *is* straight up better at all stages of the game.
