Simcha only ever said there's a compelling argument to be made it could be the Jesus family tomb. This production completely changes the translated names on some of the boxes. How did 2 different experts in the field make such different translations? One of them must be terrible at their job. Simcha's film and argument was more compelling.
@Tim Edin its also not uncommon ,though not necessarily what's happening at all, for people who have worked their entire lives building their entire careers on the current story that they take a dogmatic approach to the situation. after watching these back to back, both side put forth some good evidence, i would have more questions for this video as its responding things like were all the 19 names the the registry spelled the same that referred to Jose. just different things like that to clarify things for me. Either way very compelling and interesting stuff :) hope to learn more about these tombs and if there has been more debate.
Simcha made a piece of propaganda, there is plenty of scientific literature to read on this matter which all contradict Simcha's findings. After all, the guy is more of a filmmaker / Indiana Jones than an archeaologist. Most importantly, before we get into ANYTHING about the rarity of names, ask yourself this most obvious problem: *Why is the poor family of a carpenter from Nazareth being buried in a rich mans tomb in Talpiot/Jerusalem???* Thats like some poor family from the Philadelphia hood dying and being buried 150 km away in a marble masoleum the ritziest "richy rich" cemetary in West Chester!?!?! They don't seem to address this glaring discrepancy.
@@ralphralpherson9441 he has only put forward an argument. There is no proof and he hasn't claimed that. He has never declared himself an archaeologist, only himself a film maker.
Lots of derogatory comments against Simcha J here. He never said he thought it was definitely the tomb of Jesus, he gets frustrated that scholars discount any evidence and are completely closed off to the idea. How can any truth be found if both sides and all evidence aren't evaluated 🤷
i very much like and follow simcha, he asks all the questions others dont and isnt so closed minded, that he blindly believes stuff. revealing the truth, is often uncomfy for the 'establishment'. i also find it very ignorant for one scholar to discredit another......it just makes everything political when it shouldnt be.
@@clairelouise4063 He has not revealed anything. He has no proof that was Jesus' tomb. That is his and the atheist Cameron's idea. No proof at all. Apparently, the scientific community didn't put much faith in their assumptions either.
A wise man, don't know who, once said "For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who do not, no proof is good enough" or something pretty close to that.
I would agree that no proof is good enough when someone does not believe, because there is hard physical evidence of what the Bible states as being true but a lot of people do not accept the evidence because it goes against their beliefs or traditions One major example is the true site of Mount Sinai, the real site of the Exodus can be verified by hard evidence, such as burnt peak of the mountain split rock that Moses broke for water (with water marks / erosion) the Altar that had the golden calf / bull on and so on, everything that the Bible states can be found at the true site which is in Saudi Arabia Where as the Traditional site (St Catherine's Monastery) does not have any evidence of what the Bible states because that site is the wrong one plus it is still in Egypt, when the Bible clearly stated that they left Egypt
@U.S.S. Scambalam Read what I said again... You want to believe or disbelieve that is your choice but what I said is 100% fact / true You can look for the evidence if You liek there is plenty of videos of what I stated here on youtube But for some reason I do think You would be one of those that no matter what the evidence says it would never be good enough for You That is your choice
@U.S.S. Scambalam I agree that there has been confusion and truth mixed together I would estimate (this is just my own estimation) that any and all religions teach approximately 3% truth and 97% BS, the BS they teach is what furthers their own Agendas and gains them money and power over the people that follow them Yes sometimes belief does get in the way of learning, or finding out the truth, I agree, but that also works both ways and for everyone both believers and disbelievers alike Just for clarity I do not follow any man made religion like I said they are all full of BS primarily I do personally believe in God and Christ and the Bible and from what I have found out personally, the Bible is true If people followed the evidence without any prejudice and without following what man made religions state as truth, then they would get to the actual truth
@U.S.S. Scambalam Nah I dont think I will as it does seem You are just looking for a discussion that You get to belittle others that believe different than Yourself and I don't want any part of a BS discussion when You obviously do not want and adult conversation or to find the truth out
Simcha went to great lengths to enter into the tomb. When he did he was cut short by someone who claimed he was breaking the law. He could go no further and the tomb was sealed up again. Thanks lady - nice work. Now we will never know and all the rest is speculation. Collapsing just short of the finish line.
That guy isn't even an archaeologist. He's not a scholar. He is a journalist with an agenda. We can look at evidence and weigh it against each other. It's fake though that really matters. I don't believe Jesus was married anymore than I believe he was gay. I personally believe there is motive too put certain things amongst the Gospels that humanize and or flaw Jesus. What would be the point of Jesus to Marry . It's a very humanistic view of God. If people have any faith and read the last few lines of the Bible then they would know that adding all this stuff is quite irrelevant and kind of wrong. Maybe most of us need to worry about understanding the words that are already there rather than adding a bunch. He was once claiming that they had found the Caiaphas of the Bible. No I don't have a problem with that. What I have a problem with is his claim that because two crucifixion nails had supposedly been found with him then it must have changed the whole narrative of the Bible and he must have been a good guy. Even if he had been buried with crucifixion nails what crucifixion nails might they be? It didn't even mean that he was a good guy before Jesus died. It could have meant that he was a good guy after the fact. There was nothing but speculation . He seems to have a bad habit of jumping to conclusions. I've enjoyed watching some of his documentaries but can pull out the speculation. I wouldn't be opposed to the fact that Caiaphas was a good guy. Go the way that he tried to make it was because of these supposed crucifixion nails is that he knew which oshuary belonged to Caiaphas and somehow the crucifixion nails made him good before Jesus died. Who even knows where those crucifixion nails came from? From what was said in that video crucifixion nails were something people either carried around or were buried with. Not because of some guilt-ridden thing but rather some kind of protection. So how would he even know that those were crucifixion nails of Jesus? He had to speculate a lot.
Many parties do not want people to know if it is the tomb of Jesus or not they have a vested interest in keeping things like that quiet for political power and or money
Simcha wanted to know. You could see the excitement in his and the others eyes when he went into the tomb and wanted the truth. It's underlying when someone came out to order them to seal the tomb. Secrets that are hidden- maybe for protection, or for propaganda.. politics, power, money, etc, that's in Satan's department.
From an archeological, scientific perspective the tomb's value is undeniable. For that reason alone it needs to be further investigated. I would like to see more investigation. As to any religious connection to Yeshua bar Joseph that is up to each individual to consider.
Alexandros Lysais "Yeshua bar" is Aramaic. "Yehoshu'a ben El Elyon" means "Joshua son of the Most High" in Hebrew. 'Iesous in Greek corresponds to Yehoshu'a in Hebrew. Examine Joshua, the son of Nun, in the Septuagint (LXX) as well as the Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS) and the Masoretic Text (MT); it's 'Iesous and Yehoshu'a [yod-he-vav-shin-ayin], respectively.
As a Christian I’m not sure how to feel about the fact that it makes no difference to me whether or not Jesus was resurrected. My faith is not moved in anyway at all positively or negatively. Not shaken or stirred. God bless all. Good luck 👍
You should be asking your self .if jesus is caming again then how is it going to play out when muslims do not believe in jesus.where will they go.does jesus have jurisdiction over muslims.
If "Jesus" wasn't crucified and resurrected (if he even existed), Christianity is false. If you don't care, you're not a Christian. Blood atonement/resurrection is the entire BASIS of the faith.
You stated that it was proven that up to 30+ other skeletons were found within the tomb, but never elaborated more on it apart from the one 5 second statement mentioned. Seems like that should have been discussed further since your film stated that the DNA was one of the biggest controversial evidence from the original movie. The original movie went to great lengths to show how they arrived at their conclusion, while yours simply tried to dismiss those claims with a simple 5 second statement that had no grounds or evidence to back it up? Seems a little lacking.
You're learning faster than I did. I used to think Christian "scholars" had something to say. Took me a long time to figure out it is a scam taking advantage of our apelike mentality. I know there are some who are so twisted they actually want the bible to be true. But the majority? All paid for, their livelyhoods depend on it. And the perks, like easy access to innocent children.
I agree with you greeko the documentary kicks a little dust in the air but not enough to call the original a scam... they never proved it was false or even close, and the original never said it was, they said it was probable and most likely, but no one knows
@@angelarigido7161 not really but they might be protecting some things without spitting the real reasons. There are a lot of factors as to why they have to end the exploration to a screeching halt but it's too hard to give unjust speculations abt it. However, Simcha only curiously theorizes but never claimed anything as a fact for it to be labeled as a scam (because they never even got to the end of their investigation to end w/ a final conclusion) just like what this docu is claiming
al of the scholars in the film each one of them have retracted themselves from what they said earlier or heavily modified what they said. But most of you dont do enough research for that
It seems like these debunkers are having to jump through more hoops and grasp at more straws to disprove Simcha, than any kind of "stretching" that Simcha had to do to come up with this...

@@dcc-randomstorieswithmel7424 Nah, people defending Simcha who made a movie full of lies will hear the truth. If you dont know who Simcha is try to do some research about that person. Its also the reason who this video is made, to show the movie Lost Tomb Of Jesus was a scam.
"What are the chances that these exact names end up in a family tomb together?" They act like only 1 person at a time can have a certain name. Look at my family for instance. My mom was born in Illinois, raised in Wisconsin, my dad was born and raised in Wisconsin. They got married and had 5 kids, 2 of whichever were named John and Christina. A few years ago my parents got a court letter in the mail. Apparently there was a man and woman who were getting divorced and fighting for custody of their 2 sons, John and Christopher. The couple had the same first and last names, born and raised in the same states, and were even born the same months as mom and dad. The only differences were the cities they were born and raised in, the amount of kids they had, the day of the months they were born, and the other couple was like 10 years younger than my parents. Yea when my mom read the letter she chuckled then walked up to my dad and said "so apparently we're getting divorced" It was crazy how much lined up, but then again, coincidence happens. Sometimes more than one person in an area likes a name and they use it.
this discovery can't shake my faith because I have seen Jesus with the piercing in his hands and felt the move of the holy spirit. The testimonies in the present day are overwhelming to prove the bible right.
They were reburied by the authorities as is standard practice. I am not aware of anyone knowing if the location was kept track of for these specific bones.
I have no dog in this hunt; I simply find it all fascinating from a archaeological perspective. I will say that several "scholars" used in this attempt at rebutting what was found in the Talpiot tomb show what is "to me" a visceral attempt to disprove what others have proposed about the remains found in this tomb. Prof Stephen Cox even attempted to state that perhaps non human bones could or would be in the ossuary of labeled Yeshua bar Yosef. Come on man, a undergraduate student in a forensic anthropology bone identification class would and could recognize that. The fact that no one states non human skeletal remains were found in the ossuary speaks louder than your weak attempt to throw spurious doubt on what was in the ossuary. Was it common practice to place multiple remains in the same box? Yes it was. Did it occur in this example? Perhaps! But I smell ulterior motives for this "so called" scholar. I don't know what burr he has under his saddle it is clearly there. The statical data presented wreaks as well, both here in this video as well as the one this video wants to rebut. It is attributed to Mark Twain but I have no real data to rely on; however it is well said that when it comes to statistics there are "lies, damn lies, and then there are statistics!." No one really put effort forth to show, in my opinion, enough data to either prove or disprove either sides claim. It also seems rather smug for the "Christian belief side" which holds claim to a rather scientifically improbable belief for the resurrection of Yeshua to now demand scientific certainty from the side claiming this tomb is that of THE Yeshua bar Yosef. Me thinkuth thou protestuth too loudly 😂
I agree. One thing that's VERY WRONG about how this video started is that it was doing its best to debunk Simcha instead of applying the same rigor and critical analysis that Simcha and his crew applied to come up with their theory. This video has NO HYPOTHESIS of its own. It was REACTIONARY- meaning the prime motivation was to defend Christian orthodoxy and from there attack Simcha's findings as hoax. True, we can debate the kind of statistics used in the Simcha-Cameron video- but this "debunk" video leaves out too many details when it questioned the argument on the cluster of names. This video carelessly forgets- it's not just the name "Mariamne" that Simcha considered- but the "Mara" that comes before it- as well as the "triangular markings" and the possibility that the "cross" before Jesus's name was deliberately put there NOT as a cross but as a "tau" to distinguish it from the common practice of putting random crosses to mark the position of the lids on the bone boxes or ossuaries. Ironically, this video also analyzes the occurrence of "Jose" as "common" based on a LIST of NAMES under Joseph- not on the actual ossuaries found. That's already suspect- because ALL JOSE names would include even the JOSEs that were buried OUTSIDE OF THE SPECIFIC TIME FRAME of the JESUS FAMILY and THE ONES THAT WERE BURIED WITH OTHER JEWS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH JESUS. I think the Simcha calculations may have had a slight margin of error as all statistics go- but the computation was done IN THE CONTEXT OF THIS CLUSTER OF NAMES NOT RANDOMLY APPEARING IN ANY OTHER OSSUARIES BELONGING TO THE TIME OF JESUS. If this video intends to debunk Simcha's theory, then it should have clearly argued that there is the exact SAME CLUSTER OF NAMES identifiable with Jesus's family which has the SAME EQUAL or HIGHER PROBABILITY OF pointing out the location of JESUS'S TOMB. But no. They're not interested in ANY other theory as to where Jesus's tomb is. Obviously, this video simply wants to expose any weakness or loophole and OVER-stretch it, forgetting that Simcha's investigation couldn't have been based on PERFECT EVIDENCE since they were well over 2000 years old AND the BONES in the ossuaries had been re- buried without any consideration as to the possibilities Simcha himself had raised in his video. To debunk Simcha, this video has to do THREE THINGS: 1. Prove that there is ANOTHER CONTEXT in which those names may occur and how that CONTEXT is a more persuasive explanation. 2. Prove that ALL the FINDINGS were BASED ON CONTAMINATED DATA and SOURCES or that the EVIDENCE was CONTRIVED. In other words, for a scam to be a scam, you have to prove HOW the EVIDENCE WAS PLANTED- ARTIFICIALLY PRODUCED and MADE TO LOOK GENUINE. 3. Prove that Simcha has anything to gain from trying to investigate the phenomena in the manner that he did. He's NOT DEBUNKING Christianity, after all- it is THIS VIDEO which is making that assumption. This video is simply NOT interested in Simcha's investigation from a scientific perspective NOR in finding the truth about Jesus's tomb. It simply wants to debunk the previous investigation (and its accompanying theories) in relation to what it GROSSLY perceives as a THREAT to Christianity. This video didn't even attempt to rebut counters to their assumptions- like HOW it's equally possible that the followers of Jesus might have done EVERYTHING to hide the family tomb to UPHOLD Jesus's "physical resurrection" at all costs. Simcha's video offered counterpoints to their arguments THEN rebutted those counterpoints. This video, on the other hand, is clearly one-sided. Likewise, NONE of the three points or conditions above have been met by this video to be considered a decent counter to Simcha's investigation and conclusions. Remember: Jesus was executed as a criminal before the coming of the kingdom of God was EVER realized in the way Jesus prophesied it when he was still alive. If you were his follower- how would you convince everyone that he speaks the TRUTH about God's kingdom despite his powerlessness against Rome and his fellow Jews? Is Christianity based on WISDOM or SUPERNATURAL FACTS? Is the wisdom of Christianity so fragile and vulnerable that it would fall flat on the face of any question regarding Jesus's "human" existence? Jesus's followers may have been as human as any one of us. It's their faith that elevated them to the status that made them extraordinary human beings (almost superhuman) in the eyes of the world. What's NOT debatable is that the people surrounding Jesus back then made extraordinary sacrifices to defend the wisdom of a man martyred by haters and narcissists in an age of chaos and bigotry. Love your enemies- is what Jesus taught. He wanted everyone to embrace humanity as a common identity. There's no Jew, Gentile, master or slave. Everyone is thy neighbor, thy mother or father, thy child, thy brother or sister. I believe in Jesus, and yet- I still believe Simcha's investigation has more merit and honesty.
What he was saying is that more test should have been perforormed on the substance they found in the oxuaries. Not sure if it was even full bones. But I do agree more test should have been ran.
Archeology is simply not sience. So you always have to rely on the believes of single individuals. Same applies on the pyramids btw and thats a clear example for how wrong archeologists can be
Oh no... it gets worse. At 16:34 they start making the claim that the other doc had said "Maria" was not a common name. That's just patently false. The Simcha doc very clearly pointed out that Maria was so common that about 25% of women had that name. That's not how they made their case at all. Saddened by this shaky-cam flutter of upset in film form.
The fact remains that the inscriptions of names found in that tomb is accurate. Up to date no one disputes that. The fact remains that the tomb has been sealed up by the authorities. Even though there is clear interest in further investigations. I recall there was an inscription found on a wall in the tomb before they were blocked from further access. In summary, despite the fact that there are non disputed inscriptions, along statistical probabilities and high interest in further investigation & research- some entity in authority has decided there is no merit and has made it clear that further actions are prohibited. So if there’s nothing there cause it’s not “The Tomb” then what’s with all censoring and blocking of access?
Your very first sentence is wrong. The second sentence is wrong. The third sentence is correct. Because all tombs in residential areas are restricted. Read a book, and no, I don't mean the damn Bible. Like an actual book.
@@roo3434 So your response is telling me I’m wrong, followed by insults. Cause clearly, if you say it’s wrong, it must be so and you know well enough to know what books I read or don’t. Yeah, definitely dialogue to take seriously-LOL
I thought the inscriptions on the tombs were very disputable. Some scribe marks were ignored while others were highlighted. They even admitted the inscriptions were atypical, looking more like "graffiti" or "casual" inscriptions. I think further investigation is very warranted and agree that the blocking and censoring is very suspicious, so I remain open minded.
@@roo3434 so the finding of a tomb with an obvious holy family living in it from the markings, which would rock the Christian world and their resurrection beliefs doesn't merit an investigation because of a residential rule?🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm gonna say The Jesus bone box was prepared during Jesus laying in the tomb it was cut for someone else without the name being etched. Even his followers were surprised when the tomb was empty.
The pharasees planned everything... Matthew 28:12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, 28:13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. 28:14 And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. 28:15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.
The angel said the body wasn’t moved though so I bet the Pharisees killed another innocent man the same way as Jesus to cover up the ressurection. They probably used the same crown of thorns too. 🤷🏼♀️
We all rise from the dead spiritually, just like Jesus did. His body was not in the tomb when Mary went to look as it had been moved to the family temple. I don't think anyone would think that his body was taken up to heaven. And if it was just his spirit that was taken up to heaven would not change the story of Jesus. One way to end this would be to do DNA on the bones found in the Talpiot Tomb. The crap about people loosing there faith if his body was found is not true. people will always believe in Jesus. I think that if Jesus was married to Mary that it would have been kept secret as at the time Jesus was being persecuted and would not want Mary to suffer as he was.
Some very desperate attempt to disprove the tomb is an indication that it is offensive to a threatened Catholic/Evangelical cause. It is no wonder it hadn't been totally exposed since it's finding in 1980. On the other hand, the very gospels, their history, aren't any clearer and their history of alterations and misinterpretations beg a closer investigation.
I noticed the box of James was put there after being around elsewhere for a much longer amount of time. That's going to get somebody's ire up. I also noticed the expert helping decipher what was scratched on the "Jesus" box said jeshu. It did not say the equivalent of Jesus Christ. Jesus of Nazareth. Alpha and Omega. Other tomb discoveries have in my lifetime as I have seen these come up and documentaries were presented. One of the televised theories for the lack of bones was that during the crusades, the knights templar got there first and stole His bones. Another strange speculation was they took them to the new world and laid them to rest. I wondered, if you were to do this? And your savior is the Christ? Why move bones from a site speculated and leave the box? It's all speculation without enough evidence. The evidence to the resurrection is much greater, it's also written about by non believers. Sure there has been scribes or copyists who added things or thought they corrected things. The Creeds have survived in antiquity. They are accepted by scholars.
This video brings to mind the saying, "Me thinks thou doeth protest too much." What are the producers of this so afraid of? Christianity collapsing?? Maybe theirs would, such small minded people. I can still believe in a higher power, a Messiah, a Christ, a God, a heavenly afterlife, without the literal physical resurrection.
A higher power would be there for all to see. Delusional people always have an excuse... Well he wants to be mysterious. Or he has reasons of his own. And the best one is, he wants you to believe on faith... Christians, living proof mankind has a common ancestor with monkeys.
They’re not afraid - only concerned to put down deception. The resurrection is attested to abundantly. Whether Yeshua was married or not has no bearing on the truth of the scripture. That being said, he was probably not given what is and is not stated. Christianity survived and thrived on the sole basis of the witnesses to the resurrection- not a dead Messiah but a living Messiah.
@@Mik-ha-El I thought you said, "The resurrection is attested to abundantly?" I assume the book you want me to read is the bible. You'd think there would be more evidence than that, if it really happened. I already know, none of the historians, philosophers nor politicians, living in Judea at the time, say a word about Jesus or any miracle. Even the bible doesn't know what year he died. Nor the year he was born, for that matter. I guess the bible trumps reality.
I find it interesting that they are trying so hard to deny it, and disprove it. So much so, that I wonder if any test might not have been squid just to avoid controversy.
@@rodicapopescu2038 Those 2 have been trying to disprove Jesus for a long time. They have no proof that they can say this is the tomb. It is a made-up lie. Cameron is an atheist, he hates Jesus. The other is a Jew that has for years has also been trying to say Jesus was a fake and His disciples were all liars.
Did they forget about Thomas? He touched Jesus after the resurrection. Jesus had a physical body. John Chapter 20:24-29 The accentuation was Physical and Spiritual.
Truth is stranger than fiction because fiction must adhere to what seemed possible at the time. Plausible to the hearing. If you wanted people to believe a false story, you wouldn't tell verbatim and maintain your truth even unto death by burning, beheading, impalement, or even crucifixion for yourself !
Isn't it amazing at how someone WOULD be skeptical about a certain find....unless it was convenient for their agenda for them not to be? In The Lost Tomb of Jesus, I simply did not sense the same type of scientific and sceptical rigor that would've been applied to any other archeological find. Right off the bat.
I don't think either side has concrete argument either way. I think it's interesting and it's a possibility, the rebuttal film seems to want to remove the idea that it's a possibility. And the rebuttal even said that many have deciphered and read these names as this but they found one person who reads it differently and that sealed the deal for them. That's kind of more politics than science. The original film honestly I was okay with listening to it but I was rather uncomfortable when they started talking about the possibility of Jesus having a son. As it goes against everything I believe. However who am I to say. The people arguing against the tomb are simply saying that's not what they learned...that's not in the Bible so that's not true. However they don't seem to take in the fact that the Bible is a collection of scripture that was assembled by men who by definition are imperfect, so how can the Bible be perfect. You can easily see it today as people in power want to rewrite history.. only a fool would believe that that hasn't happened in the past with the Bible, the important thing is you take the spirit of your faith. None of these professionals know for sure either, no matter how smug or arrogant they are, their knowledge is imperfect because they are imperfect.
@@jimeagle1155 it's interesting you say this because Jesus did have a son. The history that you have been told comes from the elite "Christian authorities", basically the Roman Catholic Church and fellow Christian cronies. If we study history and not blind faith, we come to the conclusion that Jewish people were not Buddhist monks or Catholic priests in terms of celibacy for holy men and women. The church would only allow celibacy as a means to reach God, while Jewish faith was ok with marriage. Our culture has been brainwashed by powerful church officials with narratives to fit their own agenda. Joseph was his biological father, Mary his mother. They were married. It happens. The bible has Joseph seen all over with her. What else would be the reason they're together so much? Science and history are our biggest teachers. Sounds more like it’s super convenient for you not to accept critical thinking. Lost me. Why would a family that lived as far from their known place all be buried in a place they never lived? So all those bodies were walked from Nazareth to Jerusalem for burial. Possible that Jesus was placed there, but the rest? It's a 29 hour walk on modern roads from Nazareth to Jerusalem over 3 generations?
It would have been very improper for a Jewish man in the times of Jesus not to be married, so why can't people believe that Jesus may well have been married to Mary Magdalen?
Simcha is a very fine film maker and investigative journalist, but he is in no way an archeologist. I enjoy his shows, and his take on history, but I don’t think he has all the answers.
They claim the james ossuary came from the same tomb because it disappeared in 1980 at the same time it showed up in a private collection and the chemical analysis shows an exact match with the ones from that same tomb. They seem to skip over the actual evidence in trying to refute this.
They did talk about the criteria used to prove that this osuary came from the same tomb, the patina (prob totally misspelled), and they said it is not a reliable test.
This video for me is little more than a "debunking" video for the film and was set up specifically to do that rather than provide a good reasoned perspective to the contrary. Its difficult to believe that it is the tomb but the fact is that it could be. We'll never know unless reliable DNA from a confirmed source can be tested against the sample from the ossuary which I doubt will ever happen. And even if irrefutable evidence is one day provided, the RC church will just shout, "bullshit", and that will be that. Intriguing stuff though.
all of the scholars in the film each one of them have retracted themselves from what they said earlier or heavily modified what they said. But most of you dont do enough research for that
There was a DNA test done and from this the far fetched erroneous claim was made that Jesus was married. Much like the forged Prof King from Harvard's "Jesus said, my wife". Lies and greed prevails heavily in the field of archeology. This fact is well attested. It appears to be the obsession of those who hate Jesus to prove Him a fake like they are. Against what would you compare the DNA to prove that the bones belong to Jesus?
@@leawilliams8476, sorry but claims Jesus was married were made way before this. A roughly 1500 year old document called the Gospel of Jesus' Wife makes the claim and indeed, DNA testing is pointless as there is nothing to compare it to. They even spoke of DNA testing the bolt found in a heel bone. This bolt and heel bone are the only evidence ever found of crucifixion and it is pure nonsense to think it belonged to Jesus when there were thousands and thousands of crucifixions carried out. But, don't you find it funny how people will believe certain things but then dismiss others just because it doesn't fit a narrative ? Personally, I would have thought it quite important to know as much as possible about this man considering his impact 2000 years on but it seems people just ain't that interested in knowing the whole truth. And while people live in a world of denial, the truth can never been fully known. The bible tells a story, but seeing as we know that much was not included in the bible, we know that it does not tell the whole truth. I say, lets stop with the denial and find out everything we can.
I was totally onboard with this until I read the last line in the description: "Jesus of Nazareth arose from the dead, came out of the tomb he was in for 3 days and descended to heaven 40 days after his resurrection." If you wanted to come of as legit, you shouldn't have proclaimed your faith. You have a bias.
Could the Talpiot tomb be Jesus' family tomb? Yes, it is possible. Could the Mariamne ossuary be the ossuary of Mary Magdalene? Yes, it is possible. Could Mary Magdalene and Jesus have been married? Yes, it is possible. Could they have had a son? Yes, it is possible. Every assertion made by the original film, "The Lost tomb of Jesus", is a possibility. Nothing more, nothing less. It is all possible. The only people that would be scared enough to put out a debunking video, which offers very little new information, btw, are people who feel that their beliefs are not solidly founded. No one ever said, definitively, that the Talpiot tomb was the tomb of Jesus' family. Only that it could be. Which is 100% accurate. And look at the shit storm that came from the Christian camp...
all of the scholars in the film each one of them have retracted themselves from what they said earlier or heavily modified what they said. But most of you dont do enough research for that
And this video is offering the reasons why it is not possible. This offends you simply because to a uninformed person only would it be possible. And the only reason why you believe it is possible is because you want to believe that for the evidence and expert opinions conclude it cannot be due to the manifold evidences against that possibilty. But dream on, I don't mind, the only one you are harming is yourself with the offense you take to anothers right to refute the rubbish put out by this imaginary hypothesis. No doubt you also believe you originate from an ape, or is it a fish, or a rock.
I would assume a family would have to be Rich to have their own tomb and I find it kind of coincidental they just happen to find a tomb with only the immediate family of Jesus mentioned in the bible. If it's a Rich family tomb wouldn't there be several generations of people buried there with them , Jesus' grand children grandfather, nephews etc
So, right in, the Professor says he needs to get over there rightt away as there's something interesting and then you go straight into: this tomb had nothing of importance...
If one loves Jesus and his teachings it makes no difference whether he was married or single, had children or not or whether he was burried in a tomb they uncovered. Only people whose belief is based on fear would be shattered by this knowledge.
@@ashley_brown6106 Each one of us has a different relationship with Jesus, those who are afraid and must follow the church dogma and those who trust Him and love Him no matter what
Word. "sympathy for the devil" was a fucking wicked tune. The stones were on point with that one. Also, gimme shelter. Bad ass stones classic. The stones were indeed the truth. Amen bruh. I think its brilliant that Luke saw their greatness 2000 years before their arrival. Luke must have been some visionary. Leia's hair was cool too but their father had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction in his middle ages. Those stones though!
Here is one fact: the bible said Mary Magdalene claimed the dead body of Jesus. During the time of Jesus, only a wife could claim a body from the cross, according to Jewish law.
TRY AGAIN .. NO IT DOES NOT SAY SHE CLAIMED THE BODY .. 1 THE TOMB WAS SEALED (SUPPOSED TO BE) .. 2. IN THE SHOW IT SAYS THE BODY STAYS IN THE TOMB FOR A YEAR . 3 THE ANGELS INTERCEPTED THE WOMEN AND TOLD THEM TO GO TO GALILEE
@@larryreinhart5555 John 19:38 upon hearing of Jesus' death this secret disciple of Jesus asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus. Jewish law at the time of Jesus' death would only allow a direct family member to claim a body from a cross, other wise the Roman's would let them rot on the crosses !!! ( kinda the point ) This secret disciple they lead you to believe is Joseph of Aremathia.....not a family member no matter what else you believe ! He was in fear of the Jews, so why would he announce to the Roman's that he was claiming the man they wanted dead ?
I like the archeological work done. My problem is where are the bones and why didn’t they examine the bones. Jesus was crucified with nails. So could have find evidence with holes in his hands and feets. As part of the family, they couldn’t just exclude him, I think they made the assuarts with his name to include his memory in the family linage.
If you watch the documentary on it there they explain that the bones were all buried together under the direction of the government something along those lines
If you actually watch the video the lost tomb of Jesus it explains to you what happens to the bones they were re-buried in a secret location why the all ossuarys were put in storage
According to the Israel antiquity authority there’s significant evidence to suggest that the names on the ossuaries were altered before they were purchased by the Israel antiquity authority from Oded Golan, who is currently serving jail time for Forgery and Fraud, and the illegal trading of antiquities, he confessed to altering the James ossuary and one of the others.
I agree, it really doesn't matter to Christians. This is an archaeology money making opportunity. Pity they didn't say where they put Jesus's bones though. His DNA could be used to resurrect him... again.
@@M.Campbell-Sherwood Because there’s no documentation of anything he ever claimed to find. Everything he claims must be taken on faith which is where we started. He added nothing to the equation. @@chriswinchell1570 Ah but thats where you're wrong. There is documentation of many of the things he found. Barbara Walters even interviewed him when his Ark (the boat) find hit the public. The Turkish Government even made it official in June of 1987. There are newer things being released to this day. Also I'm never satisfied with anything less than the truth and I'm very careful when it comes to the study of Archaeology. I like to do my own research on Archaeological digs and come to my own conclusions and hypotheses. I mean I did study it after all. I really do think I know how to judge whether something is true or false from evidence given and from the evidence provided over the past 40+ years this is real.
Power and wealth? Hahaha are you acquainted with Jesus? Obviously not. That's why you would believe Jesus was buried with His family. His Mother was a follower, His brother died for his belief in his brother. Martyred . Jesus was a common name as is Mary and Joseph. In fact all the names were common. Barabbas was named Jesus. So many Simons I get dizzy! This is Jehovah's witness like theology. Its all invisible and metaphysical, not real. They are wrong.
Lol, you should roll the credits first to show how staged this debunk video was, costumes, make up, wardrobe, set design, and extras.... how Hollywood can you get. At least Simcha is honest about his work and lays everything out plain and simple. He doesn't have to dress it up and he makes it fun and interesting and lets you decide. He doesn't jam his point of view down anyone's throat like this video. Why don't you scroll the payroll at the credits, I'm sure every one of those backyard scholar's was well compensated to say what ever you wrote for them. Do the Bible next... common... common... I triple dog dare ya. Damn ambulance chasers.
I was taught at a mainstream theological college about early church debates around the resurrection, many believed that it was spiritual not physical. I don’t think that the church would be shattered if the bones were proven. Church doctrine we know has varied through the centuries
Most of this hyped denial of possibilities is specifically to cater to American non orthodox Christians for whom a literal interpretation of the stories is important. It's like a baalzvuvian bubble those people live in that requires them not to think critically or consider anything except what is basically a corporate crafted reality. Church is big business in the U.S. and they can't afford too many people considering the mystical or esoteric streams of Christianity, much less leave archaological and scientific questions as questions. There has to be absolute certainty that their way is the only right way and everyone else is going to hell, which makes them superior. The pa$tor they're keeping in luxury cars and private planes will lose money if they actually think.
No matter what these documentaries said about JesusChrist..it will not break my faith in Him as The Lord of all lords and the King of all kings. The Alpha and the Omega. The only way, truth and the Life. I believe He is pure and Holy. He was and is a virgin that The Almighty sacrificed to mankind more than 2000 years ago for the forgiveness of our sins and to have an everlasting life with Him. 🙏🙏🙏
I strongly believe this is the real jesus tomb. Instead of appreciating their own gods remain. They are ready to totally neglect their own god for the religion.
There's another, even greater scientific improbability: i.e., that Jesus or anyone else rose from the dead. Compared to that one, the film's hypothesis seems reasonable.
This is exactly my belief regarding this video or the others, coz if jesus hasnt been resurrected with his whole body how could his nail mark and spear mark be seen and touch by mortal called Thomas...???
@Paula Wallace It would seem by your comment, you reject Jesus Christ as the deity. If I understand where you are coming from correctly. Just because in your own self centered brain has no Widom from God. Does not make you right. It's sad because you could not be more wrong. Wrong on the most important matter of your life. Nothing in the world more important than ones own Salvation.
@Paula Wallace What is your point? Even demons in the New Testament new who Jesus was. The demons bowed down to Jesus. Does not mean if you know your Bible, you will see the Kingdom of God.
@Paula Wallace Jesus and the Creator is one in the same. God made himself into a man, The Holy Trinity. (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. ONLY ONE GOD! Ok. I’ve watched this video directly after watching the lost tomb. Both very interesting. Though, when it comes to the statistics of the probability that it is the tomb because of the names was based on hypothesis. It was based ‘IF this is the actual situation then it’s this’. An expert in mathematics and statistics was ask ‘if this was the case, what’s the probability?’
Well i think these guys answered their own question when they say that " Based on the conclusion of high scholars... " they can debunk the previous theory. We all know that human history has been changed and adapted throughout the centuries, not only by historians but by the civilizations themselves. Certain things about belief where changed and sometimes abolished in order to keep civilizations functioning according to law with the most predominant or effective beliefs being carried on to this day, which doesn't make it a real fact but yet again another convenient way to make history.
You now realize how important record keeping is. Don't take technology for granted. Record yourself on film, take pictures, make recordings of your thoughts, prepare to have your identity readied to be made anew.
What, so seeing eye sneaks like you can catalogue people for their own ends? No thanks. Privacy is a person's best weapon in this world. Why is it important that others know who I am or who I was? I am unimportant. If you are that interested in the record of me, then you have life issues. If its that important to me to leave behind a record of myself, then the issues are mine. I have no such issues. The people who loved me will remember me, and then they too will die. This is the way of a true human being, we're born, we live and we die and there's no need for you to know about any of it. If someone wants to dig up my bones in 2000 years and say that I was a personage of great significance, more fool them. It's simply not important that they know who I was.
After watching this documentary I'm convinced that was the tomb of Jesus. Running around showing how many marys you have proves Jack and shat. This was already addressed in the 1st documentary. The experts then go on to again repeat how many marys and Joses they have.... what? Also those experts seem so angry! Why? Also the DNA guy doesn't know much about patina apparently. You can use patina in exactly that way. Its done all the time by geologist and miners. If the chevron was useful for lining up the lid, wouldn't it make the lid fit better when lined up and not worse? That lid clearly belongs the way he found it, not dancing around on edges like when he flipped it around. So much weird denial here , I dont really understand the motive.
Let's look at a proper chronology in 5BC a comet was in the sky appearing on March the 10th and lasts 70 days so Mary gave birth between those dates and 70th day falls in May the 18th or 19th . Herod the Great dies in 4BC in March so the above events matches Mattews account . The shepherds attending the birth of Jesus indicates it is in Spring according to Luke . Luke says that Jesus was starting his missionary at the 15th year of Tiberius which falls on 27AD and he was 30 now working backwards Jesus birth was 5BC so the above matches . Israelis found the family tomb of Caiaphas and in that tomb they found two crucifixion nails in that tomb why ?. Also there is a Ossury of Simon of Cyranae that was found in Israel in 1941 . The Roman Governor Pontius Pilate ruled Judea in 26AD to 36AD a plaque and Roman coins have been found. The Talpiod tomb there were 33 skeletons no forensics has been done for Jesus he would have groove marks in his wrist bones and his heel and James would have broken bones because he was thrown from a tower and was stoned to death so skull fractures in 62AD . The Judean Josephus mentioned the outcomes of Jesus ,James and John the Baptist and Jesus was crucified in 30AD .
I think a vision can appear very real, even today when people have visions. The person that has the vision claims that it felt so real. I always felt that the rise was spiritual.
Jesus's resurrection could have been bodily as well...have you ever heard of any one going missing or dieing and the body not being recoverable or found....what would the family do...I'd tell you what I'd do I'd buy a coffin bury it put a head stone on it and then visit it when i missed him or her...this could be very well what happened.
if you are a christian believer probably you will suggest the documentary being the tomb of holly family is found is false (cause you will surely defend your faith) but if you are on the other side (60 percent you will agree that it is really the tomb of the holly familly) cause mostly you are listening for knowledge not for faith
If the remains of Jesus was discovered. It would destroy the credibility of Christianity. Remember Christ was resurrected and his entire Body went to heaven after a quick farewell tour.
If this was the bones of Jesus then how did he appear before the disciple and allow them to touch his wounds? Remember Thomas refusing to believe until he himself touched Jesus? Touch him he did and fully believed that Jesus died and rose from the grave as do I.
I read that too, it shows how some confusion can be started and if we don't read our gospels often enough, we may just let them get by with it. Of course the Creeds tell us right, In short form. Heaven is "above" us, but in what sense? Death and Hades is below. We bury our dead, otherwise they stink up the place.
It's Astrology, Always The Ruler was The Sun, First was Saturn/El/Allah/Lucifer, now it's Jesus/The Sun/Father of our days. That tomb it's in the sky, the southern cross -- 21-25 December.

"If," this were truly the burial place of the Messiah, then... 1 The location was not accessible, as the description in scripture suggested, to remove a dead body from Golgotha, and carry it to this tomb, in the timeline given. Because they had to have the body laid to rest, "before sunset," to take part in the Passover... 2 The Biblical description of the tomb, "belonging to Joseph of Arimathea," (and not Yahshua's own tomb), describes a round door, that could be rolled into place, to close it on the tomb... There IS such a tomb, located closer to the hill, where He died on a Roman cross. He was laid in the tomb, covered in several scraps of cloth, not a burial shroud. The description given in scripture, says that after his resurrection, the cloth that covered His head, was a separate cloth, from that which covered His body... It also says, that the cloth which covered His head, was folded neatly, and the clothes that covered His body, were in a heap. You can't get that from a burial shroud... 3 Also, The Romans played a roll at the tomb, because THEY, put a seal on the rolling door, (at the request of the Jewish leaders), that would have made it impossible to open by any ordinary man... The same tomb, as in "2," was sealed, by placing an iron spike against the closed door. The 'spike,' was embedded in the stone of the tomb wall and was immovable by any normal person... "To this day," the tomb I speak of, is still there. And in the wall of the tomb, next to the "door that rolls," is the broken bit of iron, still embedded in the wall, just where the Romans had put it! 4 Also, The Romans, placed a guard (2 men), at the tomb door. The Jews claimed that they had concerns of Yahshua's followers, attempting to remove the body, when no one was looking. Everyone knew that the Messiah had made the claim, that He would resurrect, after 3 days and 3 nights. The Roman soldiers were there, to make sure that didn't happen... "But more on that..." 5 While it is maybe possible, that some of the family of Messiah had been laid to rest there, (at the tomb in this video), to say it was Him, and that He was married and had a son, are FAR from anything resembling the Messiah of scripture... "I am here to do the will of Him who sent Me..." And again, "The foxes have dens and the birds have nests, but the 'Son of Man,' has nowhere to lay His head." So He wasn't here to do His own will... Be a man, get married, have a family... But to do the will of 'He,' who sent Him... The "Father in Heaven," Yahovah... Not Yoseph, His earthly step daddy, who had never "sent," Him anywhere... The point being, "If Messiah had no home of His own, to 'lay His head,' then it is also reasonable to add, that 'He had no tomb of His own, to be buried in...'" If He did, then why would He have been laid in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea? 6 Messiah Yahshua, if truly resurrected from the dead, would not have left any bones behind to bury in any ossuary. He was raised up from the dead, "By Yahovah, His Father in Heaven." At His resurrection, Angels appeared before the Roman soldiers, there at the tomb. They were knocked unconscious, "Made to go to sleep," by one of these Angels." Another Angel rolled back the stone, "shearing the iron spike, the Roman seal on the door." The scriptures claim that the Roman soldiers saw the Angelic being, roll back the door, and they were terrified by this sight! But then, they were overtaken by sleep... Messiah walked out of the tomb, 'alive!' Who would have believed that a few, or a bunch of followers of this "dead man," would have sneaked in, attacked the Roman soldiers, knocked them out, not killing anyone, with no weapons whatsoever, then broke the iron spike, rolled back the tomb door, and removed the body!? And then, reburried the bones in an ossuary, in another tomb...! All without being seen or captured! Here's the rest of the story... After they were knocked out, (made unconscious), by a being far more powerful than they, the Soldiers reported everything that had happened. And that the dead man buried in the tomb was gone, and the iron seal broken off. The Jews, (Sanhedrin "layers"), upon hearing this, approached the Roman soldiers and attempted to offer them a bribe, to say that His body had been stolen by His followers, and that they hadn't seen a powerful being, push the door open and shear the iron seal. The bribe was also offered to their commanding officer, (Who hadn't been present at the tomb, but had sent the soldiers, as a detachment to guard the tomb...) The commander, obviously a much more honest man than the Jews offering a bribe, sent word back to Rome... A Roman court brought a case against the Jews, (Sanhedrin), for attempting to bribe military personnel of the Roman Empire! For this cause, the Romans forced the Sanhedrin to cease from practicing law, (they were deemed too corrupt and dishonest), and had to leave the temple mound, where they had been for a long time... By the time of Emperor Tiberius, the Sanhedrin had to disband and go into hiding, or be terrorized and killed! (The destruction of Jerusalem and the temple there). Question... If the resurrection did not happen, then why would unbelieving soldiers of Rome, who were probably pagan in their beliefs, "Say," what they said and saw? And then, why would the Jewish Sanhedrin, attempt to bribe these men, and their commander, into lying about the report? "Unless... The resurrection actually occurred, and the Jews were the culprits, who called for the murder of, not just an innocent man, but "THE INNOCENT MAN!"
Did anyone else catch how they’re twisting the way they’re explaining the odds? and saying there’s a 1 in 600 chance it isn’t Jesus from the New Testament , when they should actually be saying every 1 in 600 familys of 4 would have these exact same names??

its tough to say, one of those things we might never get the answer to because there has been so much information destroyed, or hidden. Secrets were kept and taken to the grave long ago
I really don't think so, for he were sat on the earth for one purpose only, to teach the will off God, and to sacrifice himself, to save the human beings.
After reading the bibel just a couple of days ago, After his death nobody recognized him until he spoke. They recognized the spirit of him from what he said. The apostles that were with him as he left into heaven. He left in a cloud saying that he would return in the same way as they saw him leave. I am a Christian and I believe this very well could be the grave or his family grave. Also it does not matter weather Jesus or Joshua are buried or not. He is the son of God with or without a tomb. It just feel like some people just do not want to accept Jesus or Joshua as our saviour. Mary Magdalene was an apostle. The Christians that decided what was to get known, did not want woman to have any position of power in the faith from the day that it became a state religion.
If it truly is the tomb of Jesus and his family. It truly would not waiver my faith even a little. If it is the tomb, they will NEVER admit it. I find it odd that as soon as they found the boxes, they snagged them and hid them away for years. I see another documentary in regards to this tomb and the site itself if the crucifixion. The guy supposedly found the exact site, the whole on the ground where the cross would have went and a bunch of other stuff. It truly was convincing.
"I find it odd that as soon as they found the boxes, they snagged them and hid them away for years." Oh you mean along with the hundreds of other oshuary boxes they snagged and hid away in a massive warehouse for years? There is nothing especially fantastic about these boxes being "snagged" as part of a batch of 100's of boxes. Why do you place such importance on just those boxes and ignore the rest of the "snagged" boxes in the warehouse? There are 100's of snagged boxes in there, why no similar importance on those. Or are you just going to convieniently ignore those? And it should waiver your faith if the ressurection is proved false, you're just too ignorant to see why it should waiver it. Well... as a believer in Jesus Christ, I never took literally that His physical body, resurrected and went to space. My faith in Jesus is 100% spiritual, His risen *spirit* showed to his apostles. Then went to heaven where He is king. So..., why is the insistance by some, that finding the burial remains of our Lord, will 'change forever' our faith. Seems to me just another desperate attempt of the anti Chist movement, to stop our faith and worship of our beloved Lord. And just another futile act, that will lead them, nowhere.

@@adrianmaestas8258I think I’m more than qualified 3 bachelor’s, 2 masters and a PhD. So, to say Jesus did not exist is far from the truth. Many believe the creators of the dead see scrolls were a group of Jewish ascetics, known as the Essenes. The Essenes dedicated their lives to preserving the Jewish Bible. Then the texts were also written in Hebrew and Aramaic, from which they were translated into the common Greek language at the time, leaving vast opportunity for misinterpretations. There are a number of similarities between the Essenes mysticism and the story of Christ. This alone has perplexed scholars of the Scrolls. Take for instance the use of the term, “Son of God,” was used long before the time of Christ and was used in the imagery of the Essenes. There is also mention of a Council of Twelve, a communal meal, baptisms, healings, and the coming of a messiah; all analogous to the story of Jesus. People will dispute anything that changes to story of the bible and Jesus.

They don’t answer when the actual names were carved into the ossuaries. It could have been done long after the tomb was opened by some people over hundreds of years.
The names carved so sketchily on the ossuaries could also have been put there in anticipation of their occupants' deaths. This accords with the idea that the tomb was actually that of Joseph of Arimathea, who paid for it and the ossuaries in advance of the historical deaths of their occupants-to-be. In any case, Jesus himself seems to have died in India, as marked by a small temple in Delhi, having been spirited off by some of his disciples to make the resurrection stick.
From what I understand it's not that the names are common it's the spelling, the relation to one another, and how they are all together in the same tomb from the time period of jesus
@Roger Johnson -It is way more loikely someone is sitting back laughing at the ones that found Yshua’s tomb WITH BONES and all... smh. Don’t we know he ascended to heaven already? Did he put back on His flesh to walk around for a while and be seen only to lay back in the tomb again? Wouldn’t that tomb have been occupied by then? If this has someone really believing that’s Him and His Whole family in one small place ( cuz we all make it to the exact same place when we die) , that person doesn’t know the nature of the Bible of history or the ways of man.
Statistics show that the probability of these names occurring together in one tomb are 960 per million. There have been only about 150 tombs found with inscribed ossuaries. See Dr. Tabor's book.
First if you want to persuade someone scientifically don't start out as labeling the opposing opinion as a scam. That automatically taints your "Scientific Evidence" as science has no bias. There is only one truth, we can not prove OR disprove the possibility of the tomb being that of Jesus and his family. If there was only one box marked and that box was marked Jesus then there automatically is a possibility of it being the Jesus of the bible no matter how low that possibility may be.
Family tombs were common. Naming bone boxes was reserved for only the important family members. Talpiot is between Bethlehem and Jerusalem (only a few miles from each).
@@tomsherwood4650 They didn't. Only the ossuaries were brought that far. Jesus buried in Uncle Joseph Arimathea tomb was later put in a box box and that put in another tomb bought for the family. Joseph was a rich tin merchant and ward (head of) of the family.
Angry Ted But Jesus’ family lived in Nazareth - too far I should think to want a tomb in Jerusalem, even if Jesus was in Jerusalem for Passover at the time he was crucified.
@@dustydesert1674 Jesus's family were from Judea; that is why Joseph went to Jerusalem for the census. The idea that Jesus taught in Galilee is fine, but he clearly went back to Jerusalem at Passover to be with his family. His family tomb would definitely be in Judea, not "up north". Half way between Jerusalem and Bethlehem is about right.
I Know he rose from the grave and he showed me himself once I was baptized. It was so real to me that even now my eyes cant stop the tears that come once you witness the real truth. Simcha and his team was spot on. Its not about feelings that matters but real archaelogy. Afterall other books such as Acts of Philip and Gospel of Mary Magdalen have evidence that Jesus might have been married.

I agree with you Tom
Top box is an atheist organization.
A wise man, don't know who, once said "For those who believe, no proof is necessary. For those who do not, no proof is good enough" or something pretty close to that.
😂😂😂 Hmmmm... wonder who? 😂
I would agree that no proof is good enough when someone does not believe, because there is hard physical evidence of what the Bible states as being true but a lot of people do not accept the evidence because it goes against their beliefs or traditions
One major example is the true site of Mount Sinai, the real site of the Exodus can be verified by hard evidence, such as burnt peak of the mountain split rock that Moses broke for water (with water marks / erosion) the Altar that had the golden calf / bull on and so on, everything that the Bible states can be found at the true site which is in Saudi Arabia
Where as the Traditional site (St Catherine's Monastery) does not have any evidence of what the Bible states because that site is the wrong one plus it is still in Egypt, when the Bible clearly stated that they left Egypt
@U.S.S. Scambalam Read what I said again... You want to believe or disbelieve that is your choice but what I said is 100% fact / true
You can look for the evidence if You liek there is plenty of videos of what I stated here on youtube
But for some reason I do think You would be one of those that no matter what the evidence says it would never be good enough for You
That is your choice
@U.S.S. Scambalam I agree that there has been confusion and truth mixed together
I would estimate (this is just my own estimation) that any and all religions teach approximately 3% truth and 97% BS, the BS they teach is what furthers their own Agendas and gains them money and power over the people that follow them
Yes sometimes belief does get in the way of learning, or finding out the truth, I agree, but that also works both ways and for everyone both believers and disbelievers alike
Just for clarity I do not follow any man made religion like I said they are all full of BS primarily
I do personally believe in God and Christ and the Bible and from what I have found out personally, the Bible is true
If people followed the evidence without any prejudice and without following what man made religions state as truth, then they would get to the actual truth
Israel will choke on its orthodoxy in the same way that the US is choking on its diversity.

"What are the chances that these exact names end up in a family tomb together?"
They act like only 1 person at a time can have a certain name. Yea when my mom read the letter she chuckled then walked up to my dad and said "so apparently we're getting divorced"
It was crazy how much lined up, but then again, coincidence happens. Sometimes more than one person in an area likes a name and they use it.
It’s amazing enough to think some of them were alive in the time of Jesus and most likely heard of him or could have known him at all.

I’m curious no one has mentioned what happened with the contents of the burial boxes? Where are the bones?
They were reburied by the authorities as is standard practice. I am not aware of anyone knowing if the location was kept track of for these specific bones.
they were reburied.. "the lost tomb of jesus" movie did mention it..
Buried... but bones 🦴 from the Caiaphas tomb were not buried and can be visited... they may even be on display...
Nice summary. Wasn't it Winston Churchill who said "Lies, damned lies and statistics"?
To debunk Simcha, this video has to do THREE THINGS:
"...Thou doth protest too much, methinks" you mean.

@@roo3434 so the finding of a tomb with an obvious holy family living in it from the markings, which would rock the Christian world and their resurrection beliefs doesn't merit an investigation because of a residential rule?🤣🤣🤣🤣

Jesus never had supernatural powers as claimed in the bible. Elite church forces lie Paul. History is written by the winners of war.
yes common names...but when clustered together the probabilty is very compelling....

Yeah, this film is trying to debunk the other film with no context or other proof besides looking around for something to back up their story.
I don't think either side has concrete argument either way. I think it's interesting and it's a possibility, the rebuttal film seems to want to remove the idea that it's a possibility. Our culture has been brainwashed by powerful church officials with narratives to fit their own agenda. Joseph was his biological father, Mary his mother. They were married. It happens. The bible has Joseph seen all over with her. What else would be the reason they're together so much?
Science and history are our biggest teachers. Not blind faith dictated by power hungry popes and church leaders.

Plus Jesus Family would have been more Safe If they lived fare away from Jerusalem.
It would have been very improper for a Jewish man in the times of Jesus not to be married, so why can't people believe that Jesus may well have been married to Mary Magdalen?

They were dishonest on this one
Yes that's it Noel. I discussed that point myself up above.
all of the scholars in the film each one of them have retracted themselves from what they said earlier or heavily modified what they said.
People are always trying to debunk the Word of God ‼️
The arrogance of the film is proclaiming that the possibility of that being the tomb of Jesus is nil.
all of the scholars in the film each one of them have retracted themselves from what they said earlier or heavily modified what they said.
I have no such issues. The people who loved me will remember me, and then they too will die.

If you're talkin' about the "christian" "heaven", it's definitely a descent...
"But more on that..."
5 While it is maybe possible, that some of the family of Messiah had been laid to rest there, (at the tomb in this video), to say it was Him, and that He was married and had a son, are FAR from anything resembling the Messiah of scripture...
"I am here to do the will of Him who sent Me..." And again, "The foxes have dens and the birds have nests, but the 'Son of Man,' has nowhere to lay His head."
So He wasn't here to do His own will...
They were knocked unconscious, "Made to go to sleep," by one of these Angels."
Another Angel rolled back the stone, "shearing the iron spike, the Roman seal on the door." The scriptures claim that the Roman soldiers saw the Angelic being, roll back the door, and they were terrified by this sight! But then, they were overtaken by sleep...
Messiah walked out of the tomb, 'alive!'
Who would have believed that a few, or a bunch of followers of this "dead man," would have sneaked in, attacked the Roman soldiers, knocked them out, not killing anyone, with no weapons whatsoever, then broke the iron spike, rolled back the tomb door, and removed the body!?
The bribe was also offered to their commanding officer, (Who hadn't been present at the tomb, but had sent the soldiers, as a detachment to guard the tomb...)
The commander, obviously a much more honest man than the Jews offering a bribe, sent word back to Rome...
Talking of bribery already known how much would IT cost to Fake that little tomb?
Why is this titled to be a scam? Scam is a strong statement. I would say this is far from a scam
I agree! I was just about to say this. This doesn’t need to be titled a scam.
Did anyone else catch how they’re twisting the way they’re explaining the odds? and saying there’s a 1 in 600 chance it isn’t Jesus from the New Testament , when they should actually be saying every 1 in 600 familys of 4 would have these exact same names??
They will attack Christians until they see Jesus
Acts 13:36-37
For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption: But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.
its tough to say, one of those things we might never get the answer to because there has been so much information destroyed, or hidden. Secrets were kept and taken to the grave long ago
Kind of like what's happening with the events of January 6, 2021.
@@nebulahound omg really smh
because he was preaching doesn't mean that he couldn't get married and I'm sure he was married and if not doesn't matter he die for us
Most Jewish men would have been married at that time.
He was about God’s business not man’s business. He was not married. He was a virgin.
Sabbath Rock There is no evidence of this. He was also on earth as a human.
@Paula Wallace Yes. Isaiah 53 says differently.
To me the truth will always be hidden from us.
"I find it odd that as soon as they found the boxes, they snagged them and hid them away for years."
Oh you mean along with the hundreds of other oshuary boxes they snagged and hid away in a massive warehouse for years? There is nothing especially fantastic about these boxes being "snagged" as part of a batch of 100's of boxes. Why do you place such importance on just those boxes and ignore the rest of the "snagged" boxes in the warehouse? There are 100's of snagged boxes in there, why no similar importance on those. Or are you just going to convieniently ignore those?
And it should waiver your faith if the ressurection is proved false, you're just too ignorant to see why it should waiver it. You are not a true follower, obviously. You are following a massively watered down version of christ where it doesnt matter if he was resurrected or not. Thats just odd. I think you are following a corrupted version of faith, but thats on you. Best of luck connecting with diet christ...
HEY EVERYBODY!! DONT HAVE TIME FOR JESUS? THATS OKAY, COS NOW YOU CAN HAVE JESUS ANY WAY YOU WANT HIM!!! DONT CARE WHETHER HE WAS RESURRECTED OR NOT? DONT WANT THAT BURDEN? THATS COOL, NOW YOU HAVE CHRIST LITE? SHAPE HIM ANY WAY YOU WANT HIM! HE'S LIKE STRETCH ARMSTRONG, STRETCH HIM TO ANY FORM THAT SUITS YOUR BUSY LIFESTYLE!!! DIET CHRIST, FOR WHEN YOU JUST DONT HAVE THE TIME.
Follower of Christ? Give me a break.
They claimed he didn't exist and it was all a fairy tale... So now they believe ?
The guy who owns the garden tomb is claiming bs on this family tomb. He claims Jesus was in the garden tomb 🤷🏼♀️
It has big implications for the resurrection though.
Unfortunately, Simcha, although he did get a lot of people interested in archaeology, often times reminds me of the program "Ancient Aliens": "Could it be that..." "Is it possible that..." Conspiracies stories sell: remember "The Da Vinci Code"?
But none of that has been proven false separately
@@KingLarbear Good point, thank you!
i love that generalization of Dr. Steven Cox
this is exciting!!
i am for Jesus who physically resurrected but i am listening intently since i am no archeologist...
They secretly took his body, its not like they are going to tell where his body lay, as jesus was an example for his claims of being the son of god, so they said he rose. If it were your family member would you do the same?
@@Seriouslydave
have you done that to you dead family members?
did you take the remains of one of your dead loved ones days after they died?
come on!
use your civilized mind..
@@nadra2409 yes, we took them from the hospital, to the funeral home, to the grave site, those systems werent around 2000 years ago, you ever heard of egyptians? They would take the innerds out and mummify their rich and royal, and 70 days later move them to their tomb, whats your point? Jesus was pretty infamous, he was put in a public tomb, then moved to a private one as the family suspected he would be desecrated. How is this difficult for you to believe? They made up the story of his body dissapearing ascending so they wouldnt get in trouble for grave robbing and he was gods son so it all adds up.

you are not only a liar but also an impostor...
@@nadra2409 face it man jesus was real, he was just like the mega church ministers of today, and the miracle healers. Its the greatest story and the biggest show on earth. Like all the other religions, its real because you believe. Very entertaining to the rest of us.
This is utter nonsense. James Cameron the director of this documentary is in fact atheist.
Angry atheist: “It says ‘Jesus son of Jospeh. How many others could there be? Game over.”
Annoyed Christian: “Dude, your name is Mike Jones. I work with four other guys named Mike Jones. You sure you wanna say ‘game over’?”
Angry atheist: “SHUT UP!”
I would just say that the original film developed an entirely plausible hypothesis and presented facts and analysis to support it. This is merely dismissive without showing any rigor in the conclusions it makes, it is not in the least a scientific evaluation.
Well... as a believer in Jesus Christ, I never took literally that His physical body, resurrected and went to space.
Damn you are simple minded.
@@andersandersen6295 Not as bad as the idiot you seem to be.
So you wrote your own gospel, which isn't in the bible. Alas, what's another fairytale? Christians, can't agree among themselves and they want to run the government.
@@bartbannister394 Nope, no need to write anything... Instead interpreted what the meaning was. By the way, anybody can run our government better than the criminals we have right now.
The is pure BS. Love how they try to deny everything unless it fits their shallow narrative. Just because they have a degree does not make them right.
Where’s your degree Jesus Christ isn’t even in the Dead Sea scroll gospels were written in Greek not Aramaic or Hebrew why? look up the word gospel in Greek then go watch Caesars Messiah all the dots will be connected
@@Trumpet0729 OK so tell me why does Jesus pray to himself? So I’m to understand that Flavien Titus and the And the destruction of the Jewish nation coincidentally matches the four Gospels. They don’t answer when the actual names were carved into the ossuaries. It could have been done long after the tomb was opened by some people over hundreds of years.
could've been carved in the 80s.
Exactly!
People are so easily misguided. This could have easily been an early 2nd or 3rd century attempt ti disprove christianity
It seems to me that these debunkers simply need the services of Zahi Hawass to completely close down ALL debate.
Has anyone even considered the possibility that the names could have been written centuries later, in an attempt to disprove christianity??
Besides, folks, these names were extremely common at this time in Jerusalem.
A heavily biased video, calling in "experts" with strong conflict of interests and none using the scientific method to assess the data.
You cannot destroy Someone who cannot be destroyed...
Word. But what does Chuck Norris have to do with this?
The Talpoit tomb may have been bought, when they were in the area during the Passover one year. Joseph may have owed this property.
Why would they want to be buried so distant from home and who would drag the body that far in those days?
Family tombs were common. Naming bone boxes was reserved for only the important family members.
Talpiot is between Bethlehem and Jerusalem (only a few miles from each).
@@tomsherwood4650
They didn't. Only the ossuaries were brought that far. Jesus buried in Uncle Joseph Arimathea tomb was later put in a box box and that put in another tomb bought for the family. Joseph was a rich tin merchant and ward (head of) of the family.
Angry Ted
But Jesus’ family lived in Nazareth - too far I should think to want a tomb in Jerusalem, even if Jesus was in Jerusalem for Passover at the time he was crucified.
Oh hey! It's that "tall, tall man". Simcha Jacobovich, The Naked Archaeologist.
