Nurseries fail to do an important and simple thing to avoid losing trees to shock. They fail to flag the south side of the tree before they dig it up. If you flag the south side of the tree before you dig it up and are careful to keep that orientation when you plant it you will suffer a lot fewer deaths due to shock. ..
@@iancannon2825 Tie a little flag or ribbon so you know what the orientation originally was. Just some kind of marker to identify the original directional orientation. Plants are not designed to have their orientation changed. "Flag" can be the verb or the noun.
Does this really have that large of a factor on the tree?? I’ve always rotated plants in pots. Guess I just don’t understand the science behind this. I’ve had lots of trees die from digging them up but figured it was due to root damage. Guna have to look into this more.
I'd like to see how many of the transplanted trees from 10 years ago have survived today. Edit: In my time as a property owner, I've noticed that transplanted plants, especially evergreens, have a high failure rate. Saving enough roots and proper soil density are two critical factors.
Unsure about backfilling with sand. Also someone should pitchfork the transplanting hole in the sides to give the roots an easier time after the hydraulics have compressed all that soil, it wouldnt hurt to add a smal amount of nutrients also.

Props to those hand diggers!
The tree: Hey, Where do i go ?
🤣🤣
Your video is very interesting. CA you tell me how to prevent transplant shock? This has happened to me to many time.
check the comment above maybe
Anyone know any videos where I can see the root balls being wrap in preparation for transporting?
ua-cam.com/video/gAKQNSIVdo8/v-deo.html
If we request this service, how much would it cost for Fort Worth area?
That spade has that tree dug all day long. All you need is a little water and a saw to cut roots and that tree will be just fine. No need to hand dig
Lmao moveable tree machine go brr
I want to know the survival percentage of transplanted trees after one year of their Transplantation with diameter.

The location they moved them to in the video is temporary. Hence not wanting them to develop new roots there just yet.
If there is a lot of rocks in the soil 6"-8", how well does that tree spade work?
Why the sand?
Where can i find you in Eagle Pass, TX ??
