Nice one, that's the highlight of our evening. My youngest two ( 20's) were particularly taken by the sounds of the old engines. I'd just love to sit in them. Cheers another goody.
Lovely to see plenty of Crosville liveried busses. I used to love the Bristol Lodecker when I was little getting the F19 to either Heswall or Woodside for the ferry. Loved the Leyland Nationals too, the white and green ones used on the Wirral with the warm fabric seats as opposed to all green ones with short roof box central doors and cold green plastic seats.
Am from over the water. Our buses were mostly Ribble where we lived, with some Liverpool corpy . The Birkenhead & Wallasey buses seemed foreign to me when I was younger. Seeing them mostly on trips to New Brighton.
I liked the Birkenhead colour scheme, my brother in law drove for them in the 60's. Thanks for the video, must go to Hooton next show day. Surely Atlantean 1003 should be the 27, that went just about everywhere, maybe even Hooton.
The Birkenhead livery was a good display of civic pride. I highly recommend the Hooton show & the Wirral bus & tram show held in October. I unfortunately missed last year's bus and tram due to coming down with covid
I take it that they fixed the Hangar roof? Last I heard from Hooton park was that the roof of one of the hangars had collapsed and there was no money to repair it.

You can't beat the sound of those engines. Either the way they "purr" when ticking over or growl when revved
You've got the recording bang on, sounds just like I remember them, despite the passage of many years.Well done.
@@dufushead thanks, they all sounded wonderful
Some very nice old buses. Awesome 😄
Cheers Andrew, it was a great day
@@Merseywail No worries :)

The event did start out as a Crosville running day with mostly Crosville buses but it has expanded somewhat
Being born in 1965 and having two auntie's on The Wirral, I remember the Birkenhead Blue buses and the Wallasey cream buses.

They had a lottery grant & the collapsed roof was rebuilt & and the hanger repaired. The whole site is slowly being renovated
