trying SJ´s new Euronight service in 1 Class.

Hur långt innan ska man boka för att spara pengar? Man går en rabattkod från benify och legacy studentrabatt. Skulle vara intressant att resa till Berlin och sen flyga tillbaka
SJ släpper alltid sina biljetter 90 dagar innan. Då är priserna alltid som bäst. Men tåg som Euronight säljer alltid slut, vilket derssvärre ofta innebär att SJ inte behöver sälja ut biljetter "billigt" på dessa tåg. Men alltid värt att titta😅
How much was the cost of the first class train ticket?

I took this train last fall from Hamburg to Stockholm and back. I also booked 1st class, but unfortunately SJ had trouble providing the rolling stock on both journeys. We only found out at the station that we would have to use a couchette instead (the 6 bed compartment). At least it was empty and my gf and me had it to ourselves. Still very annoying and because we were using interrail, we didn't even get a proper refund. Only the ~50€ reservation fee.
I'd love to do this journey again one day (the proper way this time), but I'm very worried about SJ turning it into a disaster once again. 😬
Unfortunatly, ive heard so many stories exactly like this!😒 And i had a similar experience myself some years back. SJ only have 4 couches, which have 2 1st class in each. Since they operate one train in each direction also means they have 2 cars with 4 1st class coaches on each train. No reserve. This means that it is a high risk of something like this to happen, and nothing proper to change into. Its not ok in my opinion to sell a service that could so easiely get canceled, and then pay back only part of it! Booking a first class coach is obviously something you really want, since flying is much cheaper. I dont want to stay in a 6 bed compartment. På SJ ser det ut som 1 klass har tre bäddar. Men det ser ut som det bara är två bäddar.
Vet du hur det ligger till med det, finns det olika typer av 1 klasskupéer?
Halloj! Kul att du gillade den! Tyvärr har SJ endast två bäddar i sina 1 Klass kupeér. Dom har inga varianter med lösningar om tre så vitt jag vet! Lycka till med resan!
@@ponyopoolshark Det verkar vara så att den övre bädden går som dubbelsäng. Så.. två sängar men tre sängplatser i så fall.

Took that train last summer, but in the other direction, from Stockholm to Hamburg. We went to Berlin too, and later onwards to Munich and more, but for that we took the German high-speed train, the Inter-City Express.
I got all the way to Milan by train, except for the route between Munich and Zurich where I took a FlixBus coach, but that's only because the train was canceled because of storm damage to the track.
I cheated on the way back to Sweden however, and flew back to Stockholm from Milan.

Stockholm
Hamburg
Berlin
Munich
Zürich
Lugano
Milano
Lugano
Milano-Malpensa Airport
I replanned part of the trip during the first part in Lugano. I had planned on taking the Italo train to Rome from Milan, but it was just too hot in Rome, so I decided to go cancel that part of the trip and go back to Lugano after the stay in Milan (which was too late to cancel).
Now I'm already planning the next one. 🙂
