Anthony Hernandez yeah just check the ingredients I think Johnson’s unscented is just plain mineral oil, this was some scented stuff but I figured if it’s safe for babies it’s probably safe for... well babies. Mineral oil isn’t so ubiquitous in New Zealand so I was ordering mine online before I discovered this!
I can’t remember! Maybe 20mm? However thick you want it to be, it just needs to be thicker than the dowel and strong enough to withstand some knocking around from a baby!

Is it varnish you are using for finishing.
No it’s mineral oil, in this case I used Johnson’s baby oil as that is mineral oil!

Food grade mineral oil, in this case I used baby oil which is mineral oil because I had it on hand
