- According to a recent report by the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR), the U.S. government has sent almost $3 billion to Afghanistan in various forms of aid, of which about $293 million has not been properly accounted for. Security expert Salman Javed explains if that aid could have ended up in the hands of the Taliban and what that means for Pakistan’s internal security.
