The story behind my new song The Basement

- The story behind my new song The Basement is very personal, as many of you know. It's a tough road to navigate the trenches of addiction and the work that it takes to overcome it. I wrote this song to share the work that God is doing in those basements of churches and the miracles that transform because of His faithfulness.
If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction, please share this song with them. I promise you that God hears your prayers and is working, even when you think He isn't.
The Basement is available now wherever you listen to music. ffm.to/jh_tb
43 years in recovery...thank you!
_Glory to God. It's the same place I found the Savior...behind that red door down those steps. I'm a grateful recovered alcoholic, my names Kimberly & I just celebrated my 23rd year of continued sobriety this past June 4, 2023. Maranatha_
My mom and aunt just watched you perform this in gatlinburg, tn…. And sent it to me! And I’m 2 years sober and I am in love with this song! Thank you for this! You have no idea how this has touched me!
So proud of how far you've come. Glory to God!🎉
Hallelujah ❤
Thank you Joseph for sharing your story!! I saw you on stage in Gatlinburg in 2023. What little bit i know of your story ministers to me, THANK YOU!!! ☝️☝️
I went to soooo many AA meetings with my parents years ago. The difference was - this was a group that were not affiliated with a Christian church or group, so they were never ministered to from the Christian approach. They went on years later, after being born again, to finally conquer their addictions, but I have to say that they were never able to conquer their addiction through AA without that Christian influence and teaching. Some do - they did not.
Thank you for the song and your story!! We too have seen and tasted the Goodness of God where he met me in the basement of HPFBC @CR
Just found about you from my neighbor in Branson West, MO Lynn Sherman whose wife Tina Sherman’s sister knows you very well. Amazing back story, amazing Spirit led song! Blessings, James & Karen Michael 😊🙏
🙏 amen 🙏
Keep coming back!!
I met you on Sunday morning as you played in my church in Charlotte North Carolina. You were about to pick up eight years then. I gave you a T-shirt from my nonprofit, Anchor of Hope Sober Living. We currently house over 120 people in Charlotte. Would love to have you back in the area and see how we could collaborate to help more people together.
