It's the camaraderie that makes it fun, the slot cars just made it possible.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Marty. You are right, in the end it’s all about the people. Slot car people are different. They’re the only hobby people that actually want to share and help each other succeed. Most other hobbies with a competitive side, hold their secrets close to the vest. We don’t do that. We WANT each other to succeed. I have literally made lifelong relationships from this hobby. And now I feel that I’ve added even more friends. And I do consider you guys just that, friends. Yes, Brad.. you have to be careful. I am building my collection based on the classes we might run at a couple of track that are a couple of hours away. I think you are right.. there is a number that is probably too many for me. I do like having a back up for each class.. never know when a car is going to break on you. My Group C car.. which was flying around the track, broke this weekend. While I was racing I guess. because it went from great to really bad.. it made no sense.. I didn't have a back up so i had to race through it..
@@twolinesslotcars For me when something quits on a car, its the wires going to the pick up brushes like most all cars use, except carrera. That seems like an antiquated way to attach wires to the the pick up brushes, but they all do it. Repetition helps with learning how to attach wires better.
I think mine is 37”… you are in that acceptable range for sure.. reaching across gets tough if it get too high.. if you are doing scenery.. lower might be better for view. I would say you are good 👍
So basically what you're saying is that what you enjoy most about slot car racing is buying overpriced, poor-quality merchandise and fixing it at your own expense. You're certainly not alone. I wish, there was another track in the city of 120,000 people I live in? But I'm it.
It would be really cool to have 4 guys here racing slots, most wont even take the chance of looking at the track much less driving a car on it. They know nothing about modern slots. Odd but true.
Yes, Brad.. you have to be careful.
Repetition helps with learning how to attach wires better.
jus learned you stream on tuesdays see you then
Thanks! Join in on Tuesdays!
really enjoy your videos have you tried other scales?
Thanks Jeff! 1/32 and 1/24… HO when we were kids.
Marty, what is a good table height for slot car racing? My available table is 40 inches tall We I’ll that height cause any problems?
I think mine is 37”… you are in that acceptable range for sure.. reaching across gets tough if it get too high.. if you are doing scenery.. lower might be better for view. I would say you are good 👍
@@twolinesslotcars thanks! I am mainly model railroad guy and we like higher tables but we model railroaders dont need to quickly reslot a car.
HAPPENS, LOL.
Yes it does 😂
Each, car is different
Look forward to seeing your streams. Means alo t to us fellow slotterheads.
Thanks Dafingers1 ! I appreciate that very much.
Fly
Yes.. turned out to be a fun little car. I will find a few more to tune and have fun with on the layout.
So basically what you're saying is that what you enjoy most about slot car racing is buying overpriced, poor-quality merchandise and fixing it at your own expense. You're certainly not alone. And that's why slot car manufacturers continue to phone in their quality control, because so many customers let them get away with it. And that is why broader society doesn't give a single shit about the slot car hobby.
