messi was literally playing on one leg today and still the best player on pitch. You can clearly see he was struggling to run and still kept going and took those hard elbows and tackles without any complaints. Wish that long range shot had gone in instead of hitting the post.

Argentina wasted so many opportunities, it's amazing. But somehow they (almost) always manage to squeeze a win. Now they finally have a world class goalkeeper who saves their a$$ when the kitchen gets hot. Messi is still incredible at 37 years old. He had a few amazing dribbles against Chile and without a doubt the best player on the pitch. The only aspects of his game that declined are his speed, stamina, and physical strength but in terms of skill level and IQ he is still the best in the world
As a Brazilian I hate to admit that Argentina gets this trophy again. Brazil has been frozen in the past and by depending on a so called Best Player in the world Viny jr he barely can play in avarage level for the selecao. Most casual viewers of this Copa don't understand South American futbol. Chile will always be a worthy adversary of Argentina, as most of South American countries. The level of South American futbol is different and when you go head 2 head with a rival like Chile the game is going to be cagey. The game could easily have been 3-0, but you have the likes of Bravo who saved Chile from a goleada. To expect this game to be a blowout is elementary thinking. Watch the WCQ when you get a chance... and you'll see the level I'm speaking about. No game is easy and even with Peru, and a different line up, the game won't be easy. Argentina dominated with their passing and shooting - but that doesn't mean it will always be a blowout.

First time I agree 100% with Alejandro. In Argentina we don't expect to win every game 3-0. We just want to win. Because we don't underestimate the endurance of each game, our team is willing to be pragmatic and adapt to the game the other team proposes. The team and fans understand that, and that's what matters to win tournaments.

As a European who lives in US having watched and supported SA teams throughout my life, first Brazil and now Argentina, I finally concede that Euros is a superior tournament. Mainly because of scumbag teams such as Chile who kept flopping, fouling and playing for the majority of the game with 11 players behind ball. Despicable and for the Chilean fans in the stadium, I would be asking for a refund...
It's a shame the state of the fields makes the game very slow and that lowers the performance of the players and therefore the spectacle, there could have been many more goals.
