This was my first time playing vs Tim and I'd never experienced this mix of frustration but also respect before. Throughout the whole game I was hoping he'd make a mistake or at least give up on the Changebringers. Absolutely brutal. You're right about the Cold One Dread Knights, but Cold One Knights are just worse, even if they are cheaper. They really need some juice to make it worth taking them more often. I saw someone suggesting Medusae - yeah I had one, can't really summon it while the Changebringers are alive sadly. In general with the current state of DE it's a really tough matchup, but not definitely impossible!
I'd love to see these two players have a 2-3 more games playing this matchup, it'd be interesting to see how their builds and tactics evolve. You could even call it an Evolution Match, where a single matchup is played for 2-3 rounds, it'd be at least educational and most likely entertaining. Maybe chat with the players afterward and convey the summary of that discussion at the end of the vid. I think it'd be worth a shot.

Its wild to me that a hundreds of years old torture elf has less MA than a goblin. Sure the 30 anti large is very nice but THIRTY MA is abysmal. I'd be down with them removing some of the anti-large to buff their stats a little more but I understand the need for a defensive hero when our other ones are so attack oriented. Yet the Hag and Assassin just feel so worthless sometimes. As a DElves player I'm just sick of spamming our two or three good units and cost efficient chaff while ignoring the rest of the roster, it just feels like CA still sees the WH2 DElves terror when they look at buffs/nerfs. Agreed with the Murderous Prowess rework, as army abilites go it really feels like you have no agency and are just hoping it hits at the perfect time. I like how SFO does it with a stage one where the buffs go crazy then it tones down but stays on for the rest of the battle, it gives a better feel of the blood soaked ground and carnage invigorating the DElves rather than the brief excitement that it is now.
From an outside perspective watching this game makes me think dark elves need some new toys/love at the very least for fighting demons, Most of what made them good in WH2 gets negated by Demons in WH3 due to low armor but high phy res
A fire caster with the flaming sword of rhuin spell I think would've made a big difference here. Without their physical resistance demons are pretty squishy. Outside that, I don't recall dark elves having many options for magic damage.
Lore of fire or shadow sorceress and Medusa's are pretty much it... They should, in fact, have more magic damage units. Especially after the change to what that means. CA's weirdly stingy with stuff like that. ITP on elite infantry units for example.
Honestly I'm ok with factions not having great answers for certain matchups. Making every faction "generalist" makes them too similar and also forces players to approach matchups differently.
Wouldn't medusas be a good pick here? They provide ranged pressure against furies/plaguebringers/nurglings/changebringers with magic damage, and also BvL melee if anything decides to approach. Also I think the Dark Pegasus mount has poor attack animations. Aerial melee against fleeing units is usually futile anyway and needs to be fixed. Until then, I'd reserve the Dark Pegasus for Sorceress and just use the Cold One ground mount for Masters. It attacks better and is tankier. But in this matchup I'm thinking double Medusa.
I've been saying since wh2 the murderous prowess mechanic fits Khorne better than the Dark Elves. If anything, murderous prowess should be a faction passive where if a unit is winning in combat or flanking, they get a big damage boost, so they'd win harder and be done with it faster.
Furies annoy me so much since the patch, every chaos player just spams them which is fair because they're a good unit to shut down missiles/chase fliers. I think it annoys me because they're too easy to use, just spam them out, double click attack and 9/10 times they reach their target. Saying that, I dont know what i'd like to see changed with them without making them a meme like before the patch

Changebringers are kind of dumb imo, so many factions just don’t have great ways to deal with them, they’re fast AND have tzeentch shield, they wreck blobs AND se’s, too many pros and not enough cons

Man, it felt like the dark elves were just gone by the end. Had a value lead with those soul stealer heals but no battlefield presence.
