I test drove both. The Honda rides heavier, is more quiet, and feels like it is built better. But I purchased the Toyota because in late November, 2022, Honda dealers near me had no Hybrids.
I went for a crv hybrid sport L, I'm very happy with it, only complain I have is no spare tire and at about 80 mph i can hear a plastic slapping some in the back.
Crv exterior is so much better looking and sleek in my opinion. RAV4 is bit busy. Didn’t like the design since the beginning and it’s pretty old now. The hood is too high and you can’t see the front very well out of windshield. Forester is best for visibility and rav4 is the worst in visibility. The spare tire part sucks on crv. Crv rear seats reclines a lot for comfort for rear passengers. RAV4 is going to be more reliable since it’s been out for a decade but Crv is more popular because of the newer sleek design inside out. You will get much better deal on RAV4 because it’s an older design. You can about 4K or more off of msrp, go for the rav. If you can’t, go for the crv.
Interesting. A lot of body creases like the Hyundai Tucson. I like the design. I've heard it's kinda noisy on the road though. Best of luck with it and I hope your wife enjoys driving it!
The engine lurching happens in my wife's Rav4 Prime in hybrid mode when the engine is cold. Tends to kick on smoother when it's warmed up. But overall, the transition is not consistently smooth
Our is still noticeable even after warm up it's that more noticeable when your coasting and you dipping into the throttle and the engine kicks on. If you're hard on the pedal you don't feel it as much
We had customer complaint about them running rough when just engine kicks on but clears up. So we stuck a camera down the cylinder and see fuel puddling on top of the piston. Some don't even set any warning lights. But haven't had any lately might just be early production problems on the crv
i went to check out the Rav4 because it looked good. but when i sat in it i didn't even bother testing it. rubbish. thought it was a base model, so maybe i was too quick to pass judgement but most reviews criticise the rudimentary ride quality/interior.

Yes that's how I feel after I have driven the rav4 for a while even closing the door in the Rav4 sounds rattley where the CRV has a more solid thunk.
Personally like the looks of the CRV over the Rav4. It's ok to be wrong tho :)
Everyone has their own taste in cars just like in their women theirs no right or wrong. 😆

CRV having a huge problem right now with quality issues, dealers had to hold them up...if that what you wanted,go for it !
I have no problem fixing them as I already do with them at work. The wife just drives it.
I should have sold you my 1997 4Runner.
No wait. I'll never sell it. Ever.

@theoffroadingmechanic hmm I'll try that out next time
Im 6'4" the CRV fits me way much better. Toyota will last longer though. CRV offers better driving experience.
RAV4 better car over all
Leaky fuel injectors? Stuck open or carbon already? 4000km throttle body corroded? Making me stressed about my 2025 civic hybrid.

Wait when did you replace the Tacoma? RAV4 can’t go off road and camping!
I traded in my Tacoma back in September. Convinced the wife to get another truck for camping. 😆
Buy forester
You shouldn't have got an SUV fullstop.
Top heavy and backwards of what a car should be. Stop buying them and they will stop making them.
