This is literally why I wouldn't write a diary when I was little. I was convinced the fate of a diary was to be used against you, and why would you hand people that power? But then I started thinking I was superior and 'who would DARE cross me??' and finally started keeping a diary which I sorely needed. It was a lot of fun!

"I AM SO DEPRESSED" This was also me, but at age 13. I used to have a journal filled with boy drama, but I tore it up and threw it away at like 16 or 17 years old. I don't regret it either haha. I was a very bitter teenager.

In my old diaries, if I didn't write something every day,I would feel guilty. So most of my druid start out with "I know I haven't written for a week, and I'm so sorry! I will make sure I write every few days now!" Then I wouldn't write I it for a year, and I would start a new one because I felt too bad to quite in the old one.
The part where you talk about having to do school until 4:00 was so relatable. Growing up homeschooled, any time I had to do school past noon was a tragedy! This entire video was hilarious. :)

Thanks Katie! As a Mom of a 13 yr old who is going through some angsty "boy/girl" drama it's nice to go back and "remember" what it was like to be that age (Yep! Even us Mom's had all of the same thoughts, even if we didn't all write it down in a diary...but I guarantee you the diary has just vanished more than it never existed! lol) My kiddo is similar in being homeschooled, and has been going with her best boy "buddy" to youth group recently...but he likes someone else ;) Its hard to realize when you are that age that it is fleeting and that someday you will completely forget who you "loved" at that time. This helps me to guide her a bit and remember, in the blink of an eye it all changes! Video was adorable!

Oh my. I remember writing about plenty of boy drama in my old diaries. First I liked one guy.... then I decided I liked his older brother.... but I kinda felt weird about it.... kinda. I've lost most of my diaries from moving, but I think some of my stuff would be cringe-worthy.... especially for the guys I was crushing on, cuz I think I wrote about marrying them multiple times. XD

I actually write a little saying afterwards and basically say "yeah, I did do this" and write the date on there as well, then if I read that over again a second time, I write something else again, lol. I love doing stuff like that :)

I just rediscovered a journal that I wrote through grade nine to 2011 off and on and it was during the time I was hardcore crushing on a friend of mine who I knew was hardcore crushing on one of my close gal-friend (she didn't like him in that way) and at one point I thought he liked me back so my entries were documenting everything then suddenly he tells me through Facebook that he doesn't feel the same way. suddenly I no longer was trying to write in cursive and it was all angry scribbles of ranting. "YOU BROKE MY HEART! MAN UP! OVER FACEBOOK??!!! blah blah, She doesn't like you, YOU FOOL!!!!!!" ha ha ha ha! it continued for a good three pages. He and I are still friends and I joke about it now but the diary is pure gold!

I had an enormous crush on this girl at my church named Evelyn when I was like, 9-11yo. She made it very clear that she wasn't interested in me, and she actually had a *huge* crush on this guy named Ryan. My relationship with him was weird, it was one where he would sometimes bully me, but I still admired things he did. I would often mimic his "showing-offness" thinking that it was his wild, manic, bizarre behavior that won him Evelyn's affection. I still act crazy to this day, almost 22yo now. Last I heard of Evelyn was that after her whole family moved around the time of my big crush, years later she got married at 18 or 19. Not to Ryan, mind you...
