    Love your videos. Nice job. My only complaint about robot videos is that there isn’t enough analysis put in to how much effort it takes to maintain (clean) the base station for each of the robots. That is a big part of “living” with them and has ultimately caused the most frustration having them.

      We did cover base stations here, but this is a “best of” style of video so we don’t go into a lot detail for any one robot. I try to cover base stations more deeply in videos about single products.

      Narwal maintains its own base station eufy u basically have to clean each time u run it

      @vacuumnerds Hi, i just subscribed to your great videos and channel!
      I have one question.
      I am looking for 2 or 3 choices of best robot for not dinging up my furniture legs or my entertainment and home theater speakers and etc and white floorboards. Thanks
      (I do not need a mop but I would buy either mop or mop-less as long as it's the easiest on my furniture items)

      I guess that makes me feel better about getting the non base station UBPet. But then again, one could count manually emptying the dust bin maintenance?
      I think the whole wet mopping adds too much complexity, water maintenance, mold, bacteria issues, as well as not getting carpets wet etc.
      The tech isn't there yet for mops.
      Self emptying, poop recognition UBPet is the next option I would have liked.

    eufy x10 omni is the best for budget imo but i reccomend dreame x40 if you have curtains because its the only robot ive tested that can avoid curtains well also you forgot the mention how the dreame has an advantage over robots like the eufy that require you to buy specific floor cleaning solution for the robot vaccum while the dreame has its own compartment where you can put whatever floor cleaning or essential oils you want.

    Are you able to compare with one of the Ecovacs models like the T30 or x5 pro?

    • @vacuumnerds
      @vacuumnerds  2 місяці тому

      I sold the T30 a while ago, but it has a camera so navigation is better. Overall the T30 is a better performer, but it costs more too.

    Is it possible to tell the robot that specific rooms are not allowed to mop?
    If you tell the robot to clean the whole house and want it to remember which rooms not to mop but then vacuum and mop the rest?

    • @vacuumnerds
      @vacuumnerds  Місяць тому +1

      Yes, most robots allow you to specify which rooms to mop and which to avoid.

      @@vacuumnerds @ModernCastle how is regarding corners? And is the sidebrush able to reach under low cabinets, fx kitchen drawers which are close to the floor and a little further back than the baseboards? (Sorry hope you understand, English is not my primary language)

    Great video. I know y’all were sponsored by Eureka on the J20 and you sorta mentioned it in passing in this video but in what tier would you put it (flagship vs mid range) and how would it stack compared to the competition?

    • @vacuumnerds
      @vacuumnerds  2 місяці тому +2

      Eureka J20 mid-range. A flagship robot will have a camera for better obstacle avoidance. It's a solid performer in pickup and mopping, but doesn't handle obstacles as well as the flagships in this test. If you can find it at a decent price, it's a good buy.

    How do the ones that have mop pads transistion to rugs/carpet/over tall thresholds? It seems like the mop pads would get in the way.

    • @vacuumnerds
      @vacuumnerds  Місяць тому +1

      Most can go over a threshold of 1/3" without problem. If you have tall thresholds, the Roborock QRevo Curv lifts itself up: ua-cam.com/video/b2vHwwMNrMA/v-deo.html

    I ended up buying the Roborock Slim. I'm not impressed with object avoidance compared to my old Dreame Z10 Pro. But it's early days with day 1 firmware so I hope for improvement.
    It cleans better due to the extending arm and moppning is obviously on a different level 👌🏻
    The Slim also gets under my bed!
    I'm happy with my purchase, it's the Master but perfected, imo.

      @vacuumnerds I know it takes time doing tests and all, but it would be nice to see like either a 3 or 4 month followups on popular Robots. Just to see if there's any improvement at all, or known bugs still not being fixed.

      I'd definitely get a corded or stick vacuum as your primary, and the Narwal has very good anti tangle capabilities. The roborock QRevo curv is also good with pet hair: ua-cam.com/video/b2vHwwMNrMA/v-deo.html
