What happened to Fiesta Sunrise after Kitchen Nightmares?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 вер 2024
- In this video I take a look at what happened to a restaurant called Fiesta Sunrise after it was featured on Kitchen Nightmares. The restaurant had numerous issues including a huge amount of debt, a roach infestation, and plenty of conflict between the owners. I'm going to find out if they were able to fix their issues and recover their restaurant, or if they ultimately closed down after the show was filmed.

When Don said "I pay MY bills, and in fact, I pay your bills too, b*tch" shit got REAL. Fucking LOVED it.
Don is a patient man. If I had lost that much money on such a slime bag I'd have done more than flip a table over.
Dude was way too nice to dump that much money into a business without even asking for a say in how it was run.
I really hope Don paid a "visit" to the old thief after the camera crew left.

I feel so bad for the kids who get used as credit cards by their parents in these shows. It's just as bad vice versa of course.
And then there’s Danny from Burger Kitchen who was used as a whole bank chain

I can see why they gave guests free tequila. Get them so drunk they don't notice how bad the food is 😂
I feel so bad for the daughter and her husband in this situation. What kind of mother allows their child to be taken advantage of like that, especially when bad credit affects so many aspects of your life.
Especially if the business got shut down for any health code violations, that’s gotta effect the bank credit even worse than it would’ve if it just failed
yep that happens to be one of the cracks gordon takes at them lol
Their priorities are more important than their kids debts. It is greedy to take advantage, in any situation, and yes they stink at business.
vic must got that top-dollar dick
Yep, precisely “Help yourself on tequila, get drunk and then enjoy the food.”
I can tell you what happened. It closed shortly after this episode aired. The owner claims that the whole episode was fake and it wasn't really as bad as Ramsay claimed... but the roaches speak for themselves. Then it became a burger restaurant, and is now a heavy equipment rental service. There is a similar restaurant with "Fiesta" in the next town over with the same style logo. We don't eat there. If you're looking for great Mexican food in that area, Sangria's on 303 is ah-mazing.
well half of it is fake....this whole series is fake. They go to a business going under and then make a show. And give them money, usually they expect more money and lots of customers. So its rarely enough to save the business...but people seem not to understand how reality tv works and don't know its fake...and scripted
I live in the area as well. The place you’re talking about is Fiesta Mexico on 303. The owner of that place is Patti’s father, the ex-husband of Vic’s wife. The food is good there, definitely not as bad as Fiesta Sunrise
I live at SunGaribolde Fiesta MexicoRise and I can confirm it is owned by Don's step cousin
I feel like every town has a Mexican restaurant like this. Changes names every 8 months but still has the same exact menu.
In my city we have one that changed locations numerous times, but the name is always the same :3 it's been around 7 years now
We don’t have Mexican food here… maybe that’s a good thing, better to eat Mexican food in Mexico.
Yeah, they leave the leftover refried beans for the next restaurant.
That's shitty pizzerias in Sweden.
And same sanitation habits.
“I feel thoopid” is an underdog contender for best line in the whole series
Or what about him having the nerve to say "you cant do that to my customers" once Gordon Ramsay dares him to show a bucket full of the refried beans?
Him not wanting Gordon to show the customers the giant bucket of gray refried beans because “it’s embarrassing” is one of the best lines with context

Pretty common with all these places. By the time Gordon is there they are nearly 7 digits in debt with a ruined local rep. He's basically just gussying up the place for the next owners.

I believe all the restaurants owned by the same family, as that is VERY common for Mexican food chains. In my state there are more than a dozen places all with similar names and the same menu owned by different members of the family. They will basically give a chain as a wedding/graduation gift to their relatives, including other, more experienced members helping them run it until they get the hang of things. But to get that, they had to have spent years working their way up in the restaurant itself, and almost everyone there is within the family, even if distantly. It is a great plan, actually, and while some of the branches have slight dips in quality or time waiting, they are pretty consistent. You can basically rely on these places, which are open 24 hours, to be a good food choice for the kind of junky Mexican food that everyone enjoys. They are massively popular drunk and stoner spots, and thanks to catering to construction workers with giant breakfast burritos, they have cornered some big markets. So this place could have worked, if the food wasn't bad and the restaurant wasn't dirty and the owner wasn't a self centered asshat who ruined his family and insulted his meal ticket.
I want a burrito now...
I want a burrito too, me too.

Vic is a con man. He doesn't give a damn about anyone and actually LAUGHS when people try to tell him what he's causing. Then he cries like a baby and whines that everyone is gonna blame him for this disaster. This kitchen demands the question: WHERE ARE ALL THE HEALTH INSPECTORS?
I worked for a place where our plastic wrap container had rat poop, our bags of doritos and Lay's would have mice get into them and/or be stale, we used borderline rotten tomatoes and onions, and the sauces we use can be over 2 years old along with other crap. We got a 97 this year, the health inspector had to walk past a table with onion that were rotting with nays flying around to get to the fridges where she walked past them without mentioning the black mold on the seals, where she got into a refrigerator that had 2 week old buns, she gave us the points off because someone didn't have a hair net, the floors were dirty and unmopped, and our vents weren't working to keep smoke out of the work area from the flat top. I was so mad and disgusted from learning all this... like look, I was raised poor... but this... this is just disgusting. Yet we had the health inspector pass us with just shy of flying colors. Never trust a health inspector seal unless they had a recall or outbreak, then you can trust it for a month if you are lucky. Best indicator is inflated prices and/or egos with low health standards in dining area. Or the golden rule, if there bathroom looks like you could give a hooker a dollar menu item to see you in there, don't eat at that place.
"If their bathroom looks like you could give a hooker a dollar menu item to see you in there." I'm now determined to throw that into a conversationat at least once in my life. 😂
I recommend Kitchen Nightmares episode called Cafe Tavolini which is from Season 4 Episode 7. The owners, Keith and Lisa, former married couple, are the real textbook of how clueless people who has no idea about the business decided to open the business. Both of them barely in there for a week and Keith likes to run away for everything every time there's a problem including watching the staffs from CCTV. Lisa is also a very emotional woman and she and Keith liked to fight a lot. Meanwhile, the staffs including Lisa's children are the real MVP to keep the restaurant together especially the Kitchen Manager named Michael. Just watch it and you'll know.

I know for a fact that having a self-service alcohol stand would be illegal as hell in Australia, but the US has a bizarre lack of regulation in a lot of places, so I have no idea whether it'd fly over there.

The United States is definitely a country of "who cares as long as it makes money" but this is extreme even for us. Like we have legal drinking ages and a requirement to show ID before alcohol is served, most states require it to be behind a bar when not in use, there's just so much wrong about it.
We’re a country of greed, but even then that’s pretty low for Americans. There’s a reason why the legal age to drink is 21 and you need to show your I.D. proving your age before you get served.

It's honestly idiotic to have that tequila stand at the front door. First of all every drink that I know except for shots and beer needs ice. So that means there's ice inside of that cooler with the alcohol and drink mix.
Now what is ice do? That's right it melts. So not only do you have something where it's easy for anybody including minors to access, not only are you breaking Rules by allowing customers to serve themselves alcohol (which if you didn't know in Most states is against the law and you need to have a professional licensed person do it), the huge problem though is that all of the alcohol in there is completely watered-down by the point where someone would drink it an hour later. So you're not even giving a good representation of the Margaritas you create.
Plus what does that tell your customers? Yeah there maybe some stupid customers that see alcohol and go "That's awesome there's free alcohol here!", but then there's people like me who are wondering why you're trying to get me drunk before I get in the restaurant. Either the food is horrible or the service is horrible because you need to get me liquored-up so I'm going to go with everything in the restaurant.
there are self service setups that serve alcohol due to a token/wrist band/credit card reader etc but they are in bars/events that do not allow minors and ids are checked when people enter.
@@toomanyaccounts gotcha. I was unaware of that because at least in California as far as I know you have to be served by someone with a license.
But yeah a lot of those places that would have that definitely would not allow minors.
@@togglefire3537 wait staff in a restaurant to deliver alcohol from the bar or stock room in a lot of states have to be 18 min. no license or training is usually required but some states, counties, cities apparently do plus some other quirks. say a 21 has to supervising the staff who is under 21 when they serve drinks. there is lots of weird quirks when it comes to alcohol laws. my state finally allowed alcohol by mail from companies that get approval to ship to it to the state. not sure if delivery is not allowed to the dry counties though.
@@toomanyaccounts yeah it's funny how everything works. Alcohol is pretty detrimental so the fact it's still so prevalent is quite shocking to me. I feel like it's owners like this that make laws so strict. I feel like someone with common sense would never have something this easily accessible in the restaurant. Especially because when Gordon walked in there was no one to greet him. Meaning there's no one monitoring it. I could go in there and fill up my water bottle and they probably would never know
@@togglefire3537 well the problem is usually the people. I know my limit on alcohol and stop drinking when it starts to give me a headache or I start to walk sideways.

Honestly the restaurants are just about dead when they call Gordon Ramsey. If any of them makes it it’s a miracle
there was a few cases when the restaurants already closed and gordon was there in the last days
It's finally been discussed that, while there's a high rate of closure for the show, that's how it is restaurants in general. Comparatively the restaurants on the show are slightly under par for closure rates. Add in earlier seasons were filmed before the 2008 economic crisis which did in a lot of businesses. And that some of these places would now be decades old. Any one of that's still a thing is a damn miracle indeed.

Her mother shouldn't have guilt tripped her into helping her loser husband.
I would love to see an update on Zocálo. The relationship between the married owners was intense.
Nice job on the video. I suggest for the next video you should do Chappy’s, let’s see what happened after the show.
Did he actually break the table with the bucket of re-fried beans lol?
These are great videos!! I've seen every kitchen nightmare/hotel hell about a thousand times and the videos are like getting a new fresh spin on the episode covered. I hope you keep making these fr
You should go over the last episode in season 3. It was removed and I can’t find it anywhere. The episode is about two Persian brothers who owned a seafood based restaurant. Apparently the episode was taken down for legal reasons between the show and the owners.
That's the Oceana. Oh yeah, still remember that one, this was the first KN Episode I watched when it happened to air on TV
@@NeidhardtDerBlitzschnelle Yah it’s a memorable one. It’s too bad it’s not up anymore. I remember it had some of the most intense moments in the show.
I remember this one, I was baffled at the sheer incompetence and stupidity of the guy who ran the place. This place was doomed. There is no helping a guy who fails utterly, changes nothing, and is surprised when he fails again.
He is clueless and should not be running a restaurant.
Loving these videos. Nicely put together, very funny and well researched.
Thanks for letting us enjoy this series for just a little bit longer :)
I just wanted to let you know that I love these videos 😌
"Oh shit I hope the service feels better soon" Idk why but I laughed like a moron for almost 10 seconds
I love these videos, I hope you love making them and continue to upload :)
Love this channel! Great content, keep it up!!
“GROUND BEEF?!! Half of it’s fkn fat you idiot, it’s fatter than you!” 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Wait. The guy came in bleeding and only in his underwear?
Uuuuhhhh that sounds more like the victim of attempted murder
They didn't just kill her credit they nuked it 💥
I made a comment on one of the episodes on UA-cam and it goes for every time Vic says yesterday you have to take a shot of Vic’s Margarita. When I did the math I would end up in a booze coma.
Vic is the perfect example of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. When the first restaurant didnt work out you dont do the same exact thing again !!!! Still not gonna work !!!!
when that vaas
Nice, one of my favourite episodes :)
Vic opened another restaurant about a mile up the road from Fiesta Sunrise. It was called Cinco de Mayo in Valley Cottage and it too failed shortly after. I also think he did some jail time in the County jail. I think over $35K he borrowed from another restaurant owner.
You can’t do jail time over debt. You can go to jail for fraud.
Not just good policy .....it's actually illegal to serve something taken off a table to another table
Vic + Yolanda = Fiesta Trainwreck 🚆🚝
Decades ago I worked for a chain restaurant, one of the waitstaff found out that They would take rolls from customers plates that weren’t eaten, do something with them to make them “fresh” then recycle them to the next customer. Some of us started putting cigarettes out on the rolls, this was the ‘60s, don’t judge, or we’d find other ways to keep the rolls from being reused. 😊

Glad to see another vid from you. Been looking forward to more of your great content. Keep it up!
These vids never get old
West Nyack is a super expensive place. We only ever go there when we're gonna spend a shit ton of money that day. I wonder why he set up there in the first place.
Ya, I don't care what "deep cleaning" took place there, the fact that it even got that bad in the first place is enough reson to not allow that incompetent Vic to heat me up Hot Pocket, but I do thank him for his service.
I still think it’s nuts that people thought that she transitioned to get away from that. Bro it took me and other people getting an assessment to see that you have GD, finding somewhere to get hrt, getting recommended to surgeons, getting rejected based on insurance, getting rejected cause you’re severely depressed because of the dysphoria, and a shit ton of money to even get anything done as an actual trans person let alone someone just wanting to do it to get away from something. Crazy how people think you can just walk into the doctor and get that done, let alone get a legal name change or the gender on your ID changed so you aren’t accused of having a fake ID and/or put in danger because of it. Money is the biggest issue and I doubt she would have that kind of money to just throw away like that.
I can't help but imagine a guy sitting nonchalantly at a doctor's office, making a sign with his hand and asking "two boobs please", with the doctor answering "coming right up sir!"
That's probably how these people imagine sex change therapy
On what you said about not taking back something wrong.... I worked at KFC and we literally cannot take anything back once it passes through the window. Even if it's the wrong order
Sweet! Free bucket of chicken when I ordered a coke!
@@saintbrush4398 God yes 😭😭😭😭😭😭
I know it’s for sanitary purposes, but that’s still pretty hilarious. Imagine if someone only wanted like a chicken and biscuit, but instead you give them a whole bucket.
@@brawler5760 omg especially if it's a $30 bucket 😭😭😭 the base one without changing anything is 8 breasts and 8 biscuits and I believe the sides were coleslaw and Mac and cheese
