I like how the gargoyle line isn’t cell shaded
They need a wing pack for each character. One that comes with both draped and the A shape wings.
We really need the A shaped wings. The cloak wings are great for Goliath and Demona, but I don't associate that style with the others. The others need the standard relaxed A shaped wings.

Agreed if this line is successful enough they need to make an accessory pack where it's all just all the main gargoyles folded wings in one package.
To me - the wings have been a part of their strategy from day one. They knew people would want draped wings but they also knew that once they got past the main Gargoyles sales might drop, so what better way to sell later figures in the line? Include some draped wings!
These Gargoyles figures should have bendable wings, just like how they have bendable tails.
I think they should’ve had soft plastic wings tbh. Hasbro made great soft wings on the Annihilus baf that had ball joints for movement. Those wings still work fantastic to this day, never droop, and haven’t degraded from age. I think that would’ve been the perfect way to do the wings to avoid all those issues.
They would have been too heavy. The bendy wore style plastic/rubber mix is dense.
I love this line. I've loved Gargoyles since it first aired, and was my first internet fandom I joined. Sadly I was never able to get to one of the conventions they used to have before they stopped. Anyway, that aside, I agree with you on this line. Those wings are horrendous. All they had to do was make the wings out of the same material as their tails for the "arms" and "fingers" of the wings, and the flexible material they are using for Lexington's wings. Then we could choose to go with the splayed wings for angry scenes, folded wings or "relaxed" wings for normal display. As it is, their relaxed faces don't really work well for the wings they come with.
I passed on Thailog because he's just a recolor of Goliath, and his accessories didn't really interest me. Yet, I bought the video game goliath, because he looks like a stone statue version of Goliath. My guess, if they did do stone versions of the gargoyles, they'd be similar to video game Goliath, and come with splayed and folded wings.
I've been debating on using wire to hang from the ceiling. But the wings are the worst part about them. Each should have a set of compressed wings. Also I found that cable clips work very well on the wall. (Clip with nail on left and right) nail it in and put the tail in and it holds fig great on the wall!
This line is exactly what I wanted (and didn’t know I did lol) for a gargoyles line, they look absolutely amazing, I think my only gripe would be (that’s also very typical for neca) is how “fragile” they feel as far as articulation. I wish neca would figure that out a bit better. But beyond that this line is one of my fav lines

I agree that we need a wing pack. That would be great. But you know the scalpers are gonna snatch them all up cause they're a guaranteed sale. Unless they produce them as general releases in huge numbers and have them available everywhere, they'll end up just like those Turtle accessory packs did with a lot of disappointed collectors. Cause I'll be damned if I'm paying some POS scalper for something we all basically need.
YES! The big wings are a must. I just wish they all had relaxed wings too. You just need to put them on a longer shelf. What you have there doesn't do them justice.
Would be cool with wings like Mythic Legions. I don't like how the spread or folded wings look, and I have no interest in the human characters. Nice sculpts, but I hope someone else gets this license.
Still waiting for all mine to get delivered. Haven’t opened a single one want to go through and open all at once haha 😂
I've been super happy with the gargoyles. The only qc issue I've had was Brooklyn. One of his wing pegs broke off in his back right out the gate. I put some shock oil on the replacement and all was good. But ya, neca needs to get the alternative wings out there asap.
I definitely agree with you on the wings. I have Goliath and Bronx opened and displayed. The others are in their boxes until wings come out so I can display them.
This is a fantastic line with a huge blight on it... Those wings. You thoroughly detailed the situation, but what were they thinking? Amazing sculpts, amazing figures, but no way to display them. The draped wings should have always been an included accessory.

I display mine without the wings because I just don't have room. Glad you mentioned the half mast wings! That's what should have been standard!
I got Goliath when he first came out but have pretty much dropped out of this line because of the wings. I’ve had opportunities for Brooklyn, Broadway, Demona, and Hudson but the wings issue is a problem.
I think the bigger the wings the better . That’s what makes it cool
Frankly, it’s inexcusable that every Gargoyle doesn’t have wings that can either be folded or draped on their shoulders like Goliath(with additional purchase).
Every time I see these guys I think about buying one, but your display shows exactly why I can’t justify it.
Let's talk about international distribution on Gargoyles also! Do you know how much a non-USA home person has to spend on those figures? Nearly a hundred per figure. The hole collection of 9 figures would cost me at least 860$... CRAZY! 🤯

The wings are one of the reasons i didnt start this line. Hasbro gets a lot of flack but the wings on the Build a figure Sauron look and work brilliantly without messing with aesthetic a lot. IMO
I stopped collecting them as well. They are beautifully sculpted for the most part but not having the folded wings included and the high price I stopped collecting them and now I'm getting rid of the ones I have.
@@dk6419i considered doing that myself, i keep them boxed for now while i think it over. The boxes look pretty on a shelf but a 2d poster would have cost 15 bucks and done that though. But I think i love them. Not now. Later. Maybe.😂
All they need to do is make more wings that are draped style. The figures are great. People are always gonna find something to complain about. If they wouldn’t have made the wings big people would be saying they’re too small. It’s an easy fix. get the draped style wings going, and then they’re good to go.

I agree Hatter! You nailed it. I just feel they have a plan and it involves "milking" these lines for everything they can. It may meqn they release a wing pack for each or release these wings with the stone figure's. I mean look at the TMNT line. Jeez...just when you think they ate wrapping it up and moving on ...bing bang boom! ... another wave hits lol
I wanted to collect these because it brought me back to my childhood growing up but the wings is what stops me. I just don’t have the room for them. Idk how everyone else is doing it with these. Nice to see your display!
The minute you showed the box...I completely understand why you bought the figure just for the box.

I personally like how wide the wings are. I had a lot of empty space above my kitchen cabinets; so I have them all spread out up there. It also makes them high up, and looking down at people; which is how actual gargoyles should be.
You have to display them flying on ceiling, relaxed if you have folded wings or waking up from stone form.
The wings are the biggest problem with the line. I've got most of them so far, but I'm missing Broadway and Angela. I really wanted them "perched" at the top of my bookshelves, but the wings will stop me from doing it unfortunately
The line is great. The figures look good and have impressive sculpts. However, all the wings on mine have had some sort of an issue. My Brooklyn figures wings broke and his leg joint was so tight it snapped off. I boiled it and the plastic wouldn’t budge to pop the leg off the joint and sand it down, so I left it. Next time I tried to pose it for a pic, it snapped right off. I had an awful time trying to fix it. My steel clan robot has the same issue with the same leg and peg on top of issues with his wings too. I love the line, but I really only get them anymore to review for my channel. If it wasn’t for that, I probably wouldn’t pick them up, because although I love the characters and figures, they always have one or multiple issues with them.

Still need him then, Elisa, Xanatos, Angela, & Broadway. I always get excited when I find one at a target. Not sure if there are any other retail stores that sell them.
the wings are really important, but definitely would pay more for a second pair of folded wings or half closed wings. One thing I wish brooklyn had, that Leather Jacket he had when he was on the motor cycle.
The gargoyles are awesome, but they completely messed up with the folded wings debacle 😩
I love the line! but I agree the open wings should have been the extra not the default. But I am so glad I have them!

Ive been all in on this line from the beginning. It is unfortunate with the wings situation, but i have faith Neca they will course correct with time.

I have been wanting to get into this line. I was wondering about hanging them from the ceiling with fishing line to simulate them flying
They feel distinctly NECA in style, I was hoping for something with more of an animated feel. Overall I'm still very much enjoying the line.
I promise you what is going to happen is AFTER all the main group gets the folded wings the next round of figures (the deeper cut figures) will come with the A stance wings. So you will always have to buy the obscure figures because you will want to give your core characters all of their stuff....BRILLIANT from a sellers point of view. If it had been done the other way around, the acceptance rate for the full open wings would probably be around 30%.
Looks like I'm in the minority with the Gargoyle wings. These look AWESOME spread open. I like the folded wings too but I never once thought, "AWE MAN! THESE OPEN WINGS SUCK!". The only QC issue I've had are the same with every NECA figure. Stiff joints that I now always soak in hot water to loosen them up.

I couldn't agree more. I feel like I have not been able to enjoy and display this line like I want. I have them all displayed with no wings and it sucks.
Such a great line overall. They improved the joints after the second release which is nice to see. They are readily available. The accessories are fun and make sense. The look is amazing. Articulation is right where it should be for the most part. Having wing options is smart and great for us. And they are releasing the characters in a good order as far as popularity. Only real improvement I want is better head articulation on the ones with long hair. And Angela just looks awful.
People complaining about the wings are ridiculous. It’s a non factor and has been since announced 2 years ago.
Love this line but only getting my favorites. Goliath, Demona, Bronx, got’em. Now just waiting for the upcoming Elisa Maza and Xanatos. Although the Lexington figure looks to have soft, rubbery wings. Only way he could be made to keep his articulation to be sure.
A wing pack would be nice. since if you really don't want the human character to get the wings for that gargoyle. There is a huge well of characters for them to do still. All the clones, The pack in human form and when they get upgraded. I also feel like we might get more cartoon color schemes. Just like how turtles has regular and video game colors for the same figures. thanks for the video keep up the good work.
Yeah some gargoyle figures come with the other characters wings. Mainly ones that don’t have wings have the others draped wings
Fishing wire to suspend them from the ceiling might work.

I grabbed a second pair of draped wings and use them on Broadway. Just modified and painted a little and they work nice.
They should do some type of flexible leather fabric and make the wings poseable
It’s super easy to heat the wings up with a heat gun and mold/fold them however way you want them to look. I like the expanded wings because it’s a good base to fold them however way I want. I get the frustration though

I don't disagree with the complaint about the wings, but given either relaxed wings or expanded wings, I'd rather have the expanded ones.
Part of me thinks "maybe they didn't expected everyone that buys these to go all-in, just get ones they thought looked cool".
As collectors of these, we’ve got to agree on terms for the wings! OPENED, FOLDED and DRAPED.
I would love to see the figures wing end to wing end and you measure them
I'm not sure how I feel about them putting out fully extended wings versions first. Was this a design oversight or a deliberate intention to horswoggle people into having to double dip for non-extended wings?

Fishing line & clear thumb tacks to pose your flying characters. Independent small shelf for the standing characters. The line is so good, I can forgive the wings. Looking forward to the line continuing with more supporting characters. An Owen/Puck 2 pack would be sweet. Owen just needs an extra stone forearm from when he tested the immortality pool.
I have all except for the steel clan and the game Goliath not getting the game Goliath but I love this line waiting on Lexington

The wings should addressed prior to continuing the line. Admittedly, NECA has already gotten the majority of the main Gargoyles out of the way but this leaves room for multiple variants. What has me worried is the customers' dedication of the line as almost every character has at least 3 forms. The Gargoyles have their human forms, their Future Tense forms and their clones. Goliath even has his Odin' Eye transformation. Groups like the The Pack have their human and cyborg forms. Elisa has a Gargoyle design, too, etc. Unless they fix those wings, I recommend NECA to put the line on a hiatus till so it won't negatively affect their future figures.

I always wanted an Angela figure as a kid & had recurring dreams about finding one. So her release was like a literal dream come true for me.

What I’ve been doing is just bringing the wings down instead of up and it helps for now but they definitely should have gone for the half folded wings like they did in the cartoon. Little unfortunate but yeah for now these figures need their closed wings already. Steel clan I have a set of four and just have them back to back to bad you aren’t able to upload pics on here or I’d post it here.
Lucky to get them all ordered right at 10am. Got an email confirmation. 30 seconds later got an email saying the order had been changed to $0. Still showing an order in my account but I’m thinking they cancelled. So even if you got it ordered Walmart still cancels

Hatter, I love the line. Could there be improvements sure a drapped wing pack would be the best accessories pack and be a wonderful fan thank you. If and I say if they do stone variants having the wings in an -A-shape(you showed the still) would be the best move. It shows attitude and takes up ok space for display. More figures would be very cool, villians, supporting characters, and Owen who is one of my favorites.I do have Angela and Elisa ordered from Toy Stalker. Baby Angela needs baby Gabriel 😁. The last pic was darling👍✌️

The sculpted details on this line are fantastic I don't really like What they did with Elisa Massa but she will come with the folded wings for Brooklyn so we need to purchase her for his folded wing. They should have made a wing pack for sure and yes we need the A frame wing configuration that allows one to place them all together.

This line looks amazing but I might have to back out. I love the sculpts, but the nostalgic pull isn't strong enough for me to overlook the hassle of finding space for these things. :) I'm thinking about selling the ones I have and just getting Brooklyn to represent the whole line. He was the one I was drawn to in the Kay Bee aisles, but never pulled the trigger!
...but I know as soon as I get rid of them, NECA will release a wing pack with folded/rested wings, and I'll totally regret it. 😋

Am I bad collector if I skip out on Angela? I just don’t have as many memories with her. Also don’t know if I’ll regret that decision after rewatching the show later. Waiting on the kiddos to get just a few years older to give it another watch.

One issue I do have is how they look as they aren't quite cartoon but aren't quite realistic but rather ride the line between. I would prefer the smoother cartoon look over the muscle figures. That being said, the wings are 100% what has kept me out even over the design choice. There is no way I have room for those giant wings lol.
I bought the first Goliath that came out and just regretted it as big as he is without the folded wings I don't even display him and I'm not going to buy another figure to get the wings I regret buying him honestly and won't buy anymore

Why didn't they just include the draped wings for all of them as they did it for the genesis version of Goliath.
Why couldn’t they have put joints in the wings? The arms and legs aren’t fixed pose! The wings are just as important.
I'm happy with the gargoyles figures. I'm one of those heathen in box collectors so the giant wings don't bother me.
