I visited with Elliot yesterday to listen to the same system but with the Divin Marquis paired with the Sovereign subs. Simply a joy to experience. Elliot shares my love of music and we spent 3 hours listening and sharing stories inspired by the tunes we played. From intimate performances by Hillary Hahn to Rhapsody in Blue played by Bela Fleck and the Virginia Symphony, to Willie Nelson and Pat Metheny’s Unity Band, Kurt Elling,…. whatever we played the system was like a time machine transporting us the the performance itself. I learned a lot and appreciate Elliot’s passion and approach. Terrific stuff Jay, thanks for sharing.
@@jaysaudiolab By the way, my impressions of the system were not with the Riviera power amps but WestminsterLab Rei mono block amps, the same amps I use at home (at home I also use the WestminsterLab Quest preamp). The WL Rei amps proved to be an equally compelling combination for me. I think this demonstrates that a this system can delivery an exemplary experience with a range of electronics. Bravo to Elliot and all the manufacturers on display here.
Jay, I am so Happy that you are Warming Up to AMT's! Their Potential has been Improving since the Mid 70's! With ever Improving Materials I believe they can bring more "Air" than Beryllium Dome Potential has! Follow your Magical Ears, they are Spot On! 💪
Hopefully people understand that spending ridiculous amounts of money into HiFi gear does not result in equal improvement of sound quality. There is a tipping point, after which the marginal benefit in listening joy is decreasing exponentially, sometimes even goes negative. The (hidden) justification for certain types of men to give certain types of companies more and more ridiculous money is called “status”.
Jay is learning the superiority of the non-round driver speaker design. Especially for mids and highs. 1" (or so) domes produce a 1" or so wide image plane at the height of the driver. You might get an extremely detailed horizontal placement image. But no height. Panels/ ribbons/ EMTs/ .... that are light and narrow enough to produce the highs but tall enough to give image height are superior in creating the entire sound field. Not just points along a horizontal line.
From my understanding then for a far more superior sound than this system and costing less...would be the ALSYVOX'S CARAVAGGIO Full Ribbon Loudspeaker system. A Ferrari amongst all systems.
95dB sensitivity not efficiency. Online reviewers keep getting this wrong and this promotes viewers to say the same thing. Efficiency is expressed as a percentage not as a decibel figure. You know like a class D amp can be 90% efficient but you don't say it's 90dB efficient. Dont get me started on referring to 3 foot tall speakers as towers.
Nice display of the system and features, but was expecting a sound demo, especially after the who knows how much cable and build up of it. What difference did it make? Would be nice to get that review. It would be great to get a nice microphone in there, some non-copyright material and give us a true A/B comparison. (Granted we need TOTL Headphones/Speakers ourselves to hear that difference.)

So Jay,how do these compare to your old Wilsons? How does this system compare to yours, is it better or just different? Congrats on the 24k subs, you are the hardest working man in Hollywood.
Jay, I really like these vids. It’s just the scale is way past vulgar. If I truly had the mega-million$, and I really mean IF! I’d go for construction of that bank vault-dead listening room, at a hair past $414k. Up next, The Persona 7f from Paradigm, (in part because I’m a speaker loyalist) ran in full tri-amplification from a hodge-podge of different amps: Conrad-Johnson’s Art150 for the tweets, Ayre Acoustic’s VX-R twenty for the midrange, and Bryston’s big 14B/cubed handling bass. And shared Siltech, and Nordost cabling in a dedicated Accuphase T-1200, McIntosh MR-89 FM tuner, and phono based analog system. And hopefully I’d still have some change left! lol!
Interesting how people spend a huge amount of money on a sound system that in first instance and without hearing it... Have a mayor design error as you will need pretty much of distance far from dose speakers to reach needed linearity with such a distance between Lo----mid----hi drivers. Professional audio designers have been struggling trying to place drivers physically as near as possible fighting linearity problems for years.... So, besides all digital.control and confties and amps quality...you can perfectly see that this are speakers built for people that have plenty of cash but don't have an idea that this are most and more a commercial trap for someone that spent money on see and buy basis than a serious home speaker system design. In my opinion and as advice to you all... You can get a lot better results with a lot better yet *still expensive* sound systems available by a LOT Less than that ridiculous 800K
See my system! the emotion of class A, on a long journey it often happens that I hear music in the car or in clubs, when I come home, I hear my system and it excites me, I think yes this is the music! Guitars, trumpets, drums, bass, voices, it's all so real and sweet. Hearing this makes my heart beat and I love music.
Better question is why use gold inside a cable, when it is a worse conductor than copper? Silver, OK, you can make an argument based on a given diameter limit for the wire (which btw, is arbitrary in most cases, since you can always make a thicker copper wire or multiple wires that will conduct better than the silver, for less money[, but not less volume of cable]). The use of gold plating on the outside for corrosion resistance, that makes sense. But, on the inside, I'll take copper over gold any day.
Great video and truly a high end stunning system, Wadax is presently and probably now the absolute reference in Dac and Streamer performance, I have heard both at Ultimate Audio in Lisbon, wow, however I would add that the Metallurgy of the Akasa DC reference cable whilst probably something special with the AU and AG combination, to me, it's let down by the connector which looks like it is just a "Neutrik Tru-1" which is widely used in the live concert touring industry, and is a massed produced connector with cheap pins inside...$20 connectors in fancy cladding does not imho make up for this....a cable that costs north of $20k is slighly disingenuous of Wadax..happy to be proved wrong though...

"Ultra High-End" doesn't make any sense based on the fact that often these systems are not even able to reveal all aspects of sound. It is impossible without professional DSP to get subwoofers in phase and become one with the loudspeakers.
Because you need a DSP system that measures the loudspeakers and subwoofers together. When a subwoofer only has its own DSP room-acoustic system, it can never become one with the loudspeakers.
