    Heads up for anyone having the same issue as I did where landscape cutting never worked and only resulted in a black screen in the cell view:
    If you put underscores (This thing --> _ ) in the overlay name, it just won't work. So when naming your cut terrain/overlay, DON'T ADD ANY UNDERSCORES!

      Thank you so much for sharing the awesome find!!! That makes total sense now. When you use the landscape cutting tool and provide a name, it also creates an external .btd file. When you use underscores to name the file, the .btd file keeps the underscores while the creation kit removes them, therefore it's not able to connect the external file back to the creation kit. When I removed the underscores from the external file, it made the connection.

    Thats why I like your content!
    First your videos are clean, coherent, educational and creative.
    A hidout or player home inside the landing bay is sick. Very creative and something I have not heard anyone suggest.

      Hahah. Thanks so much for the comments and support as always! I feel like I'm on the cusp in being able to have something out. Trying to figure out a few more pieces to achieve what I'm wanting, but yes, a few more hurdles in this process and I'm leaving a trail of what I'm learning through these tutorial videos.

    Thanks for this tutorial bruv, followed it easily , and got a test spot loaded in to the game .. with terrain changed via blocks ... and the test items in place .. now to try and make the POI i have in mind .
    If you take requests could you do a tutorial on how to add custom outfits or spacesuits and how to add them to venors and the like .?

    I’ve watched your first video, as I’ve never modded before in my life. I’ve messed around with the CK for a bit, but haven’t figured out how to swap an existing animation to the player character. I’ve managed to get the animations to play in CK but can’t figure out how to swap them to the player character. Kinda fun but annoying at the same time learning all this

      Thanks for the comment and the great question. I would think that it would be something that you can do, but I currently have no knowledge in that area to be helpful. I completely understand the fun and frustration part.

    I really hope that mod creators choose from the Thousand planets that are basically empty and add things, Such as killer Mechs on frozen or words that can not support life.
    I dreaming of landing on a distant planet, only to find that it has been taken over by Mechs controlled by yet to be discovered Aliens or Machines/Robots than can build or replicate new machines, a machine / Alien controlled planet.

    I'm trying to do this for the Water World where Neon is located. Issue I'm havinv is that even though I built a landlng platform above water, in the game when I go to land on it, I'm below the water surface. If you have the time, could you do a video on that and what the solution would be?

    Excellent Tutorial , made a little world out there , nice spot 2 little buildings , but could not set an outpost cause of restricted area (beacon red) How can I get the rid of it with CK ?

    awesome tutorial, extremely helpful. thank you so much!! do you (or anyone else) know how to enable/spawn trees in an overlay? i have my overlay (created using the block method) in a forest biome on alpha andraste III and have changed the actual worldspace biome to be a forest and I have enabled proc gen in the worldspace but nothing seems to work.. and every time I try to create an overlay on an existing forested area via the first method in the video the CK crashes. thanks in advance for any insight!

    Very helpful, made a spot with few buildings , navmesh etc... but still restricted area in game , could'nt place an outpost beacon out there . How do you enable the location for outposting in game mode ?

      @@ÉtiTama-y7p I think the route would be to some how disable collision detection for the outpost beacon. I've seen people somehow bug their outpost beacon to a point of interest without any issues, so I would think the process would be placing it not within the CK, but have something set where the border cannot detect anything before placing it done in the game.

    All I really want to be able to do is create a mod that either adds a few of my own custom ship builds to whatever ship tech inventory for people to purchase, or just add them directly to the player's inventory. Do you happen to have a tutorial for something like that?

      Thank you so much for the comment and question! Yes, it's very possible and I believe I understand the process but just haven't explored it yet. The creation kit has it's own ship builder so you can have the stock ships in game. Once you build your ship and save it, you can add it to a vendor list/catalog for it to be purchased, or there can be a mechanism where it could be added as a free ship to the player. I think the latter can be just as simple as seeing it placed on the ground at a location and the player can board it and take it.

      @JRamosWorksGaming Thanks for the response my dude 🙏. I love ship building but I hate making build guides, and I get A TON of requests. It'd be so much easier if I could just go "Here, have 20 of em, no building necessary" 😆.
      Love the channel by the way. I don't really watch guides, but I do have you to thank for the fractional offset glitch. Back when us Xbox peasants still had to play by most of the rules lol.

    Hi, Thanks for the great tutorial, Ive got everything working but when i'm building, procedural rocks are spawning in and clipping through my builds. You know any way to stop this from happening? Many thanks.

      Thanks so much for the comment, compliment and question. Wow, I've never seen that happen yet. When you're creating your new location, are you testing it on your local computer or are you exporting the file to test it on another system?

      @@JRamosWorksGaming Hi, it works like 99% correctly. I get a nice open patch but huge rocks spawn along the edges, sometimes going quite far into the open area and will clip through my builds. I am exporting as a small master packaged with the terrain files in an archive. Many Thanks

    I created a new location and it is fine with my current saves, but after going to Unity for a new NG+, the location is not there.

      @JRamosWorksGaming I was originally getting the black screen, but I got rid of that by not using underscores in the overlay ID. It seems to be crashing like 70+% of the time right when I save my overlay after locking the selection. Let me try again tm after work. Honestly, I think your tutorial series is super helpful, but I think the CK is extremely buggy, and bethesda should really have given us some documentation to help us. Im doing the first method in your video (by planet surface marker map generation), btw.

    Can you make a location bigger than the recommended 6x6? I've tried but can't get it to work.

      Thanks so much for the comment and question. In the few tests I've run, I've been able to generate a map at 14x14. As an example, New Atlantis in Jemison is 12x12. Not sure what it would be like to build in that size, but you can generate a location beyond 6x6.

    Hey JRamos I followed your guide exactly but when I load into the planet on my game it’s just showing the normal planet terrain and the mesa overlay block I placed isn’t showing up. Everything I placed is there but just floating in the air where the top of the cliffs is supposed to be. I’m not sure what’s going on and how to fix it. Do you have any ideas?

      Actually I figured it out, I had to export the terrain landscape and then use it to create an archive and then upload the archive along with my mod,

      @@JRamosWorksGaming well I never tried playing locally actually, because I mainly play on Xbox and last time I tried playing on the pc version half the mods wouldn’t carry over so I haven’t really opened it in awhile. I have just been uploading to creation club and then testing everything in my Xbox so far. But from what I was able to find out it should have been working find locally it was only a problem once being uploaded, just based off what little info I could find.

    So is creation kit demanding on a pc or could I dabble on a cheap laptop? Lol don't have a badass gaming pc but I've got an x. Definitely interested in finding a way into the modding scene

    Hay nice Videos, helps a lot :D But one Question. If i turn on lights in the Creation Kit it is in Exteria Cells just bright as i would look in the sun and i can only see light. Or it is just a black void, annyone knows a fix? Ty
    The Sam as in minute 27, thats how all of Akila or Jemison looks like.

      To not see the light as intense, deactivate the fog with the second icon after the light.

    Great video! love your enthusiasm and will follow you. For some reason, this particular lesson is not working for me.... The issue I had is that after making the shiplandingmarker and testing it, the ship does recognize the elevation, but there is no mountain below me, so I just fall to the ground and die.... hahahaha. For some reason, I can see my mapmarker and land where it is supposed to be, but there is no mountain there, the ship just lands in the air. There are no textures for the overlay, but the navmesh is using the overlay´s one......... weird
    Update: Since I messed up with some files, I had to reinstall Starfield and forgot to modify the Starfield.ini with bInvalidateOlderFiles=1..... Dumb of me.... hahahahahaha All is good now!!! Like you say, "Showing my mistakes...." hahahahaha
