But well in a way, all french people, atleast all those that had a minimum of education at high school and chose English as subject can understand when a person with an English accent says “Hamburger, Cheese burger” etc even if we pronounce it differently. And I think that even people who never had English class even once in their lives could understand because even if it's pronounced not the same way, we still share the same alphabet unlike in South Korea where the letters “R”, “V” and others aren't a thing and it's really way too different. Like “Red Velvet” is “Led Belbeteu” while French people will only pronounce the “R” differently. And the examples I gave became a thing really long ago, during like the 11st century if I'm not mistaken.

Just came back to the us after my 2nd month long business trip in Korea. This reminds me of how I completely changed the way I spoke so my korean coworkers would better understand me. The accent is part of it, but I also started using simpler vocab and eliminating or simplifying adjectives. Also, I would replace longer descriptions/ questions/ ideas with shorter sentences that could be understood in parts, and whenever possible I would try to show them what I am talking about instead of wasting time trying to explain. I think these tactics help to communicate with anyone who is not a native English speaker. If you know a little about their native language you get to add things like accents and modified grammar (what she is doing isn't exactly an accent, it's the way koreans learn the English sounds because their alphabet is doesn't use all the same sounds so when they spell out the approximate sound of an english word or a letter using the korean alphabet, it's not exactly the same sound)

I thought he didn't understand at first but after she changes her accent, you can hear (well, if you can understand korean without subtitles) Kangin saying "Ah ~ I know, I know." There's a nuance/feeling of more like trolling than understanding coming from the change of her accent in that sentence. im not sure if Kangin really understood when Wendy spoke with her original accent though lol but the way he behaved (the nuance of his sentence or his head-nodding) after he listend to Wendy's korean accent made me think that he was just trolling her. just a gut feeling of a korean lol

Just came back to the us after my 2nd month long business trip in Korea. This reminds me of how I completely changed the way I spoke so my korean coworkers would better understand me. The accent is part of it, but I also started using simpler vocab and eliminating or simplifying adjectives. Also, I would replace longer descriptions/ questions/ ideas with shorter sentences that could be understood in parts, and whenever possible I would try to show them what I am talking about instead of wasting time trying to explain. I think these tactics help to communicate with anyone who is not a native English speaker. If you know a little about their native language you get to add things like accents and modified grammar (what she is doing isn't exactly an accent, it's the way koreans learn the English sounds because their alphabet is doesn't use all the same sounds so when they spell out the approximate sound of an english word or a letter using the korean alphabet, it's not exactly the same sound)

I'm studying ielts right now, but even my classmates can't understand what I said sometimes, even the teachers don't understand so I have to switch it to almost Vietnamese pronunciation for them to understand
