- Hey guys,
Just a quick one for today with some tips on how I go about creating long fur with graphite pencils, in contrast to my short fur technique that I've covered lots here on youtube. I hope it helps!

You are crazy good (ant patient)…! Thanks for the video. Could be first start with smaller size drawings to practice?
He’s a Newfoundland. I had one, he lived until he was 14 and a half, I miss him dearly 😢
Kyomi I bet he was yummy scrummy. Did you have him from a puppy because he must have been like a living teddy bear ? 🥰
@@freddiebiscuit9703 Yes, he was just 8 weeks old when we got him, a real little bear. We would have another Newfie but I have terminal cancer so it’s not an option unfortunately.
Just a note on GellyRoll pens/ink. First off they are not lightfast (archival). Over time the white gel ink will yellow and become brittle. Second, once you have your artwork done always store and ship flat. Do not roll your artwork, the ink will crack and flake off. This can still happen even if you use a fixative. If you use GellyRoll pens, use a UV final spray. It will help slow the yellowing and brittleness, but you should still store/ship flat. To be fair to a customer you should share this information too so they don’t mishandle the artwork.
@@larastrazdas7227 good info, thanks! I tend to use the oil based white pens now which are light fast. Saying that though, I have drawings I did around 10 years ago using the gelly roll and haven't noticed any yellowing. I use UV protect glass for framing, though, so maybe that's why.
Can I ask, do you trace your images? Great work by the way.
The tutorial is not very helpful but your drawings are mind-blowing! Beautiful 😻
@@Hazel_989 thanks, what would make it more helpful for you?
😮😮😮 Really great
It it amazing ❤
This is ridiculous!! I can’t get my head around how you can draw such amazing portraits, incredible! Teach me?!?! 🙏
Right!?
Thank you so much Paul!😀come over to Patreon if you like, where there's hours of footage and teaching!
I like pencil shine as well so we can be unpopular together. I love using light and dark and you can never have too much texture as that is what, for me, brings a portrait/picture to life otherwise it's flat😁
So true! That's why originals are sought after over prints, all that lovely texture :)
Stunning. Really there aren’t words. The person who commissioned this must have reared up when they saw it. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much ❤️
Amazing ✌️ tutorial. Love 💕 from India. I'm your new friend ✌️🎉 let's stay connected.

Just what I’m waiting for. We recently lost our Mini Schnauzer and I would really like to do some kind of picture of him. I have no really clear pictures of him, mainly videos, but he had a mixture of long and short hair/fur.
Thank you. ❤️
Another great video and a truly beautiful piece of artwork
Thank you so much Jamie x
Nice, very realistic
So are the triangles the length of fur, like how does that wavy longer hair on the ear work
very helpful , each triangle shape negatively defines two clumps of hair , must keep that in mind ! Beautiful work
We love the triangles! Thank you Trevor, I'm glad it was helpful 🙏
Beautiful Work 😍
OMG i can’t believe 😮 it’s a hyper realistic please keep it up my friend
Thank you so much for your support!
Stunning. And actually quite emotional watching all the detail come together.
