- The long-rumored Crash Bandicoot animated series has supposedly been cancelled out of the blue. According to a certain writer from the team, Amazon had made a deal with Activision only to later have the show get cancelled. There’s only one source to this claim and many of us believe Activision and Amazon simply had a different vision when it comes to the show’s script.
Activision still hasn’t publicly spoken about this animation leak. Along with the animation test comes the animation ‘’Bible’’: Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Cartoon Show. A lot of fans from the Crash Bandicoot series hope that Activision re-considers if this abrupt cancellation turns out true…it seems to look real despite the lack of sources.

We aren't sure how valid this next claim is, so believe it at your own discretion. According to another source from Facebook, Activision wanted to deliver the show in January 2021. The official poster has also been shared. Activision wasn't happy with the character designs and the show's approach, so they asked them to delete everything and start over, Amazon refused. Amazon ''entertainers'' being aware of the situation, purposely had a snippet get leaked as to get a reaction from the community. yeah it doesn't have all the voice actor of it but i feel like it fit the style of the animations, it remind me of that reboot of a 2D teenage mutant ninja turtles, would had love to see where they would go for crash bandicoot tv show .
But for sly cooper they might as well just call it canceled the sly cooper tv show been too long with out a update and just disappointing what they did with sly4 is why i just prefer the trilogy honestly , A lease sly3 has a ending but for sly4 it has a cliffhanger not saying sly4 is a bad game i like what they did with the ancestors with sly 4 and i like the ideas of bentley girl friend betraying the gang which shake things up but i just prefer sly3 . what are your thoughts VTNVIVI?

Meanwhile Sonic the hedgehog has had 5 TV shows and an Untitled series coming to Netflix in 2022

I think Activision is going to push the game series forward in terms of plot. So that’s my reason why it was cancelled.

Wow. This is definitely disappointing. I would have loved to have seen an animated “Looney-Tunes-like” cartoon for Crash. Some of the ideas for the cartoon seemed very interesting and many seemed funny. I liked the idea of having many characters featured in it and there being episodes for it. Think about it.. a Crash cartoon like SpongeBob or Looney Tunes would have been so neat..

Hopefully they make a new Crash cartoon but, get the artists who animated for the looney tunes and the writers who wrote for the Original Animaniacs and make it zany to the max.
Man Warner Bros would be surprised if they see a Cartoon Clone of there's that Activision is seeking to do, oh well it would give me intense of hype for that.
Honestly when I look at the art style I don't think "Looney Tunes", I think "Ren and Stimpy" which makes me gag (for the behind the scenes reasons). For me it's quite... ugly. I just feel it would be a very simple comedy show, in the style of online parodies... Dunno that's not what I would want from Crash especially when his world looks so beautiful in the newest game... But I guess I'm not the one to judge, especially when it was cancelled :C

I purely agree with you!After rewatching the two test animations of the 2021 cancelled Crash Bandicoot TV animated series, it looks,sounds and even feels as if thiscancelled Crash Bandicoot TV series has a multiple personality disorder: it 'sgot a mixture of the 2004 Disney animated movie,Teacher 's Pet :The Movie, Jimmy Two-Shoes, Gravity Falls, Spliced, and even some elements of the 2004 Crash:Twinsanity video game for examples all blended into one!It's more of a sartorial parody than a respectful homage to Crash Bandicoot if you ask me!😆 But on the bright side, Crash Bandicoot is purely in his element in video games, so that's a positive way of looking at!;D

It’s a real shame to see this get cancelled. However I do wish Cortex was voiced by Lex Lang. Also, I heard that the joke rumour was not quite true but idk.

This looked very strange. Not sure how I feel about it to be honest. It did have some smooth animation though so. That's pretty good.

I don't know if this series would have ever worked out in my opinion in concerns of how a Crash Bandicoot series should be pitched, which is probably the reason why this show went through production hell, and was cancelled. The whole pitch from this pilot, pans to disaster and seems like a dishonest to the characters themselves--with Dr. Cortex being resentful of creating Crash and the titular character himself being a zany mess, therefore, representing them as caricatures of their former selves; it is disheartening. Given the tone from the first Naughty Dog games and now, a Crash Bandicoot series should be an episodic action-comedy, gripped with drama and adventure. Given where credit is due, most cartoons nowadays don't go for this esthetic and settle for too many slice-of-life, mystery or parody tropes; it would be excellent if Kopp had went for this concept, as far as we are looking at it, it's could be the right path for Crash Bandicoot--keep the audience guessing and make it fun for all ages to enjoy.
Also replacing Lang and Harnell for Eric Bauza (Understandably, the Asian guy is a dynamo when it comes to voice acting, but make no mistake it's better to rule in quality over quantity when voice acting some like Crash Bandicoot), and also inserting yourself into the show for the role of main villain kind places you on pipe dream--like you're trying to be the next John Kricfalusi.

I have nothing against the artist/designer of Cuphead.
Activision Is truly acting ungrateful with this cause this actually very promising and I can put this next to the collection next with the Cuphead Cartoon. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Of course they had to reject this new Gem that was gonna live up tot he game's name and had other "plans" In mind!

Funny how this keeps happening since there was another Crash Bandicoot cartoon from either the 80’s or 90’s that never got picked up to series, you can find the unaired pilot on UA-cam

Don't really like how Crash is portrayed as a total idiot in this clip. Naughty Dog always intended him to be goofy, but clever. As for the show, truly a shame. Really seemed like a creative project and was thankfully 2d instead of cgi. Atleast we still have the Sonic show to look forward to on Netflix.

I like I said, wasn't expecting this style....but I don't necessarily hate it.
I mean, it sucks that it got cancelled, but we just got an awesome Crash game not too long ago. Imagine how I feel being a Sonic fan, not getting a main-line game in almost 4 years (plus Sonic Forces wasn't very good anyways)

I wonder what the conflicts were. I'm kinda glad we're not getting the cartoon - it seems too kiddy and goofy and possible agendas steering away from the sauce we love.

You know Activision became really greedy when they randomly want Mario to be in the show, xD, this really could effect Crash future games at this point since Crash 4 didn't seem to have sold as well as N. Sane trilogy, hoping they at least give Spyro a new game.
Well Zembillas believed the sales of Crash 4 is what pushed it to move forward.
@@VtnVivi I believe they already had plans for the cartoon before Crash 4's release, since they started making more merchandise, anyway i find the "adult jokes vs kids humor" issue with activision/amazon is quit interesting, especially after re-watching Crash 4's cutscenes and some of R&C ps2 and ps3 cutscenes recently.
As a part of the sly cooper community, i think we need to make #saveslycooper trend and get sly cooper 5 for ps5. As well as Jak and daxter and crash!

After seeing both test animations of the 2021 cancelled Crash Bandicoot TV animated series, it looks ,sounds and even feels like a satirical parody to Crash Bandicoot than a homage in my honest opinion and book!XD I digress. I was little bit disappointed that Crash Bandicoot cartoon TV show has been canceled in this year. Just like Sly Cooper the computer-animated movie has been canceled in 2016, and even The Legend of Spyro the computer-animated movie has been canceled in 2010 as well.
I've always wanted to see a cartoon TV show of Crash Bandicoot series. But now it was canceled in this year. I was unexpected that. How disappointing. 🙁
But I'll be OK. I'll get over it.
But at least I'm still gonna get my hands on both Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart on PS5 and PlayStation 5 system until it'll be released by Sony and Insomniac Games in this year. That'll cheer me up.
But I'm still waiting for news and rumors about a brand spin-off game of Crash Bandicoot series: Crash PVP game on PS4 or maybe on PS5 to be announced and revealed by Activision for Crash Bandicoot's 25th Anniversary in this year. That one will cheer me up too.
And I am still waiting for news and rumors about a brand new Spyro the Dragon game: a true sequel to Spyro 3: Year of the Dragon of the original trilogy of Spyro the Dragon series: Spyro 4 on PS4 or maybe on PS5 to be announced by Activision and revealed in this year. This one will cheer me up as well.
And I am also still looking forward for to see Sly Cooper CGI animated TV show on HBO Max into the future. Hopefully this Sly Cooper TV show won't be canceled.
I don't know yet.
I'm just saying though. I'm just staying positive. And I am just being optimistic about this. 🙂

I don’t think the artist of Cuphead’s style fits Crash Bandicoot. I’m not saying it looks bad. It doesn’t remind me of Looney Tunes at all tbh.

Don't concern yourself with this and here's why:
1. The "test footage" could be fake. I don't trust ANY leaks.
2. The Reddit post is gone and the comments say that the formatting on the documents they provided was questionable [ No confidential markings in the development bible]
3. Why would somebody risk their neck and career to post that on Reddit? It doesn't make sense because leaking genuine confidential documents and footage is likely to lead to legal trouble; I doubt someone would do that just to attack Activision.
4. If there were issues with the script & tone, then how did it even last a year in production?
5. The post was deleted because the troll either didn't want to be on the receiving end of the backlash or just wanted to drop the fake documents and leave.
6. The documents are dated to April 1st 2020; The cartoon never existed to begin with.
Never underestimate the lengths someone will go to to create a fake leak. This is just someone slandering Activision because it's considered cool to do so.

don't get me wrong, It's a shame that Crash hasn't gotten his own cartoon yet, I'm sad too but hopefully something even more promising will surface in the future, let's not get desperate

Vant, this has nothing to do with whether you are left or right. It's about the money and backlash. Certain companies try to take some control over an artist's project just so it can appeal to mostly a American/Christian/family centered demographic. Corporations like Amazon invests thousands, even millions into shows like these in hope to make bank on it thru Prime Video. Beside, this is Amazon we are talking about. Right now, Prime Video is really behind Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. There are only a handful of shows and movies worth watching. I don't know if that changed since the last time, but from my understanding it is lagging behind. In order to really get a foot hold in the market,they need to lure more people to sign up for Amazon Prime by giving them a reason to sign up. Canceling an upcoming tv base on a popular game IP because of a fart joke, which we all agree, was stupid on their part.

It's true that cartoons made with ulterior motives (like you said, companies being greedy, thereby forcing artist to change stuff to fit a demographic bc they want people to sign up to their services etc.) usally get backlash because they're not very artistically well made. Company greed isn't the only ulterior motive that incite such heavily lackluster cartoons with too much executive control though.
Based on my observations. Progressive artists/writers always end up putting political stuff in their cartoons, which in my opinion takes away of the overall quality of the show because of their split attention. The artistic aspect of the cartoon should determine the theme, not their political leaning. But that's what they usually end up doing though, bc politics is the only thing that's in their head by the looks of it. They seemingly can't come up with any unique themes or even follow a IPs original atmosphere/theme. (I don't know If you made similar observations or not, but let me know.)
Which is why I came to the conclusion that involvment of progressive people is a huge contributor (and reliable predictor) as to why some cartoons tend to be of lesser quality than cartoons from previous decades for example. And of course, cartoons that are badly made both art- and/or writing-wise, *will* get backlash, that's just logical.
Also, Amazon is a very progressive company. So those people in charge who are forcing artists to change their stuff to appeal to certain demorgaphics are therefore indeed heavily left leaning. So yeah, It goes full circle.
Plus, the "you don't deserve this show" blame shifting comment is sooo so reminiscent of heavily left leaning folk. The people who were in charge of making that canceled Crash cartoon *have got to be* progressives. It is just too much like them to play the victim/blame-shifting card whenever one of their cartoons fail.
Also the fart joke thing *isn't* the main reason for cancelation. Activision just didn't like the demographic and approach that Amazon was going for. The fart joke is probably just a minor reason that gets thrown around a lot in convos bc it sounds ridiculous and ridiculous stuff is more attention grabbing.
That's what I was trying to say, hope this makes sense. If not, oh well I just wanted to share my thought process, it's fine if you disagree.

I don’t blame them, crash is a crazy bandicoot that speaks gibberish. And plus I don’t know ANY kids who play crash, mostly adults play crash bandicoot. The adults would watch a kids show and then the adults would not like it because it’s kid-friendly. Their is a lot problems with a crash show maybe a Spyro show would be a better option. Another recent claim on Facebook, the animation was leaked on purpose as to bring attention. Apparently, Amazon didn't want to cancel it, Activision wasn't happy with the style. Not saying this info 100% true...
