DIY Aquarium Cooling Fan - Part 1 [Tutorial]

- I will be showing you how to build a simple DIY Cooling Fan as an alternative to an aquarium chiller.
This is a cheaper way to try to bring down the temperature by 2-4° Celsius. However, this will result in more water getting evaporated and will need to perform consistent water top-up.
I will show you how I build an automatic water top-up system in my next video as a way to overcome the water evaporation.

Inspiring video. What is the average aquarium temp with the constant fan on?
It depends on the room temperature, because this tank is placed in my storeroom, the room temp is higher at around 30°c. With the fan, it can bring down the temp by 1-2°c. More fans can be added to help lower the temp but this will cause more water to evaporate and thus more water topup is required. In my part two of the video, I overcome this problem by installing an auto water top up system. So the water top up is done on the water reservoir instead.
@@TheStreamAffair Thanks. I know this problem had been bugging me.Chillers are way to expensive. I used the common 5x5 inch fan that is widely available. But could not last. About 2 years. I was fortunate to find one with ball bearings on both ends instead of the normal brass bushing. It was double the price. But man, it lasted till now ,10years and still going strong 24/7. My average temp around 24-25c quite constant. Room temp is about 30-26c
Thanks for sharing. Where to get the female adapter and shrunk tube ya? Hardware shop or Mr.DIY got?
U can try electronic shop or search for them in shopee..u should be able to find them online easily.
noctua 😭
Where to get the fan. How strong is need to be?
Use and DC 12V CPU fan will do. If u have the budget, u can invest in a branded, high RPM and low noise fan..else, a normal one will do. If one is not enough, add another.
Mana dpt yng arcylic mount tu?
Blh Beli kat shopee (untuk viewer Malaysia)
