It was perhaps the mid-1950s, and I still remember vividly that old hotel on Mall Road where my father stayed for a couple of days since he had some political meetings in Lahore that included a meeting with the governor of Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani. The story you narrated about Akbar Jahan is true, with some variations, as my late father told us. Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah did betray his nation, no doubt about that. Finding it difficult to find a girl to marry in Kashmir finally, he managed to marry to Akbar Jahan.

Col Lawrence indeed played a vital role in turning the tide in favor of the British Empire in the Middle East, and his subsequent mission to South Asia makes sense, since he had the expertise of being a spy master and a perfect disguise. It’s a known fact that Farooq Abdullah did marry a divorcee who was once married to a British national, but your V log provides an interesting detail about her background. How ironic is that the Abdullah family has also absolutely betrayed the Kashmiris.

My father was in the 8th grade in Peshawar when Pir Karam Shah came. Later they found out it was Lawrence. I had doubts about this story till I watched this.

Karan shah/ Lawrence of Arabia
This compromise theory about Shaikh Abdullah a Kashmiri leader is a concocted mess of Pakistan's Failed Generals to cover up their own faulty plans and the defeats they have been facing in Kashmir right from 1947.
Pak Army engaged ex- servicemen and tribesmen to conquer Kashmir by force after having signed agreement with the then Maharaja Hari Singh that Pakistan will not fight with said Maharaja.
But having been betrayed by Pakistan when his entire Army looked having lost controll of Kashmir as a result of aggression by them he rushed up to Delhi for seeking Military help which was provided with conditions of accession with India. He agreed upon it and signed a document called Agreement of Accession. After this Indian Army landed in Kashmir and the aggressive forces of Pakistan were thrown out of Kashmir.
After being defeated in Kashmir Pakistan Army started propagating that Shaikh Abdullah has compromised on Kashmir cause and thus betrayed Pakistan as well as Kashmiris.
Pakistan Army's foolies did not end up here but continued in 1965, 1971 and Kargil wars, and have been shamefully defeated.
The compromise theory of Pakistan does hold good because Shaikh Abdullah was in jail in 1947 when Maharaja had signed Agreement of Accession with India in Delhi. He was jailed in 1965 and in 1971 also.
Before 1947 conflict on Kashmir Jinah Sahib had sent a delegation to Kashmir to convince Shaikh to impress upon him to support accession to Pakistan. During these discussions it was conveyed to Shaikh that he had no right to talk about resolving public issues like autonomous status, land reforms and abolition of Jageerdari Nizam, providing free education and free medical facilities to common people and so seek guarantees from Pak leadership on these issues. He was told to withdraw agitation against the then Maharaja because it was the Maharaja who had a legal status to talk to Pakistan or India and take his decision. He was called a gunda by Jinah himself. So both parted the ways.
Look and think about the approach and thinking of Pakistani leadership to declare Maharajas and Nawaabs only had a right to decide where to go.
Look when the foundation of building is very weak it cannot bear the weight of many stories built upon it and finally it had to collapse.
Jinah had compulsion to Guarantee Maharaja, Nawaabs and Jageedars to protect their interests because they were supporting him at that time. Later on these Nawaabs failed in their efforts and are enjoying idle life in Pakistan. But Jageerdars of Pakistan got their due share of partition as their lands and wealth are still protected. They are the elite class of Pakistan having swallowed all it's resources like land, Industries and busineses. With the passage of time this elite class has intruded into governance system of Pakistan. All top brass of Pak Army, Judiciary and Beauruecracy belong to this elite class. They might not be at present more than 50 families to rule Pakistan. This elite class have slaved people far centries. They do not consider people as human beings but human animals likewise Israel treats Palestinians. They have right to kill you use your women like they wish.
This elite class group had established a strong link with Western salabi forces particularly America who have guaranteed to protect their khandani Raj in Pakistan on the condition of not raising any objection on American policies on Palestine and Kashmir like Saudi Kingdom have got a guarantee from America.
Look and think if any leader who might have/had thought welfare of common people and to adopt a free foreign policy with regard to Palestine and Kashmir and expressed his plans in this regard will be treated like Liyawat Ali Khan, Shaikh Mujeeb, Zulifikar Ali Bottu Or now like Imran Khan. Either being jailed, hanged or killed by his own Army Generals who have opted to serve and protect the interests of America.
Think over it if Shaikh Mujeeb had won the election then why was he jailed? What was the end result of suppression and mass killings in erstwhile East Pakistan?
Likewise if Imran Khan had won the elections who changed the results? Who banned his party, who snatched his symble and who jailed him, his spouse and all top leadership of PTI?
Think over it even today the status of common people of Pakistan is not more than slaves. Look at Bangladesh they have not opted for Military Dictatorship are better placed than Pakistanis politically as well as economically.
It is better to first mend your ways and keep things right in your home before commenting on others.
Kashmiris are better placed than you even under Delhi Darbar's Dictatorship. At least Kashmiris do not have regret that Dictator is not amongst them. You should have this regret but they sctullay have not owned you.
Kashmiris have seen loot mar of Pak forces in 1947 and during 1990s. Inocent people were tortured and killed in broad daylight. They don't need it any more.

In your episode you have added a picture of Sheikh Abdullah standing with his wife who is sitting on the chair. This Sheikh Abdullah is NOT the same Sheikh Abdullah about whom you are talking. Though this person in the picture ture was also from kashmir but he was a Brahman converted to Islam n came n settled in Aligarh, up. He was the founder of womens' education in Aligarh. I suppose when you Google for a picture of Sheikh Abdullah n his wife you got this but didn't check further details on this Sheikh Abdullah. Though this Sheikh Abdullah's wife's name was Sultan Jahan Begum.
