Steals? Bro, Kyoko wouldn’t tell you something herself if you tied rope to her tongue lol. Makoto has to figure out her vague hints so that her deductions reach the rest of the group.
One thing I love about Shuichi is that unlike the other protagonists he actually goes through a proper growth arc throughout the entirety of V3,being in a completely different state at the end of his journey compared to when it began but what makes him different is that instead of having his little arc in the final trial that changes him (like Hajime for example) Shuichi's development is structured across the whole game which makes the player feel like they are evolving with Shuichi throughout the course of the adventure. While I still think Hajime is my favourite protagonist,Shuichi is objectively the best from a writing standpoint
I agree! I hate how many people downplay his arc or call it redundant. None of the other protagonists had a proper arc like he did and it’s o much fun to replay and see how different he is in different stages of his journey.
This might not be important but I guess I'll mention it anyway.. I've come to think that Kaito and Shuichi really did need eachother, especially Maki. During class trials, Kaito makes me think of the character with the EQ (emotional quotient) but not much IQ (Intelligence Quotient) awhile Shuichi already has a IQ but needed some EQ. From this video, Phantom mentioned already that he's quite empathetic but I thought that Shuichi somehow still lacked that. Shuichi overall would often use intelligence to solve the truth but Kaito thought that it was more on feelings. And to lacking some of that, Shuichi missed some parts of the story which is how some of his theories were wrong, even that time when others were guessing that Maki was the culprit. Kaito on the other hand seen others from not only his perspective but also parts that most wouldn't notice. Lets have that one time during a class trial that Kaito said that he knew how "Kokichi was putting on a mask" regardless of how many times Kokichi acts badly. This can be some proof that he can see what others wouldn't see. Now some people might be thinking about the Gonta class trial, well there wasn't much proof nor would have anyone knew anything other than one person, Kokichi. If Gonta was acting a lot different and actually remembered everything, then I have a good feeling that Kaito would see that somethings off. So that's a conclusion to how I think Kaito is more on EQ. Now where does this bring in Maki? Well, Kaito is a very physical guy and can be quite harsh especially towards Shuichi at times. These aren't big moments but Maki can be a comforting character or the one to get them to do the right thing if Kaito wouldn't be the one to do it. As to be an example: "Remember, you are Shuichi Saihara before you are a Detective." (Apologies if I got this line wrong-) Leading towards my point on why I think that Maki is a nice character too and to how they'd all need eachother. That's all! (Not actually all, but I won't overdo it) If you actually read this then.. I'll be amazed but thank you! I put some based on my own thoughts but hopefully this is understandable!
You did my boy justice. Thank you. 💙 The only thing I wish you would have added was Kokichi's role on him because they are the Truth vs Lies after all. :3 Amazing video!!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I agree it was a missed opportunity to discuss their interesting relationship. Maybe if I cover Kokichi in the future I'll talk about it there. Thanks again!!
This is absolutely amazing and I cannot believe how underrated this video is! This video made me realize so SO many things, and it made me like the V3 ending a lot more now. (I still hate it to some extent haha..) Also made me remember why I love Shuichi so much. You did so well explaining his character and I just… wow.
Dude, I am genuinely surprised that you don’t have many views and subscribers, considering how much effort you put into your videos, especially this one! It’s so well-thought out and I seriously agree with your Shuichi character analysis, especially on the part on how he’s became such a relatable character to the player. Anyways, the video and the analysis were pure quality. I wish you luck for your channel to grow more in the future!
Here's some character recommendations for you to analyze if you want: -Okabe Rintaro [Steins;Gate] -Goro Akechi [Persona 5, Royal version (This is important)] -Kiritsugu Emiya [Fate/Zero] -Hanekawa Tsubasa [Monogatari series] -Miles Edgeworth [Ace Attorney Franchise] -Nana Osaki + Nana "Hachi" Komatsu [NANA] If you take away anything from this comment, go watch NANA and in Sub fantastic show
