The analysis starts at 1:46. I sort of rambled a bit more than usual at the beginning. Just wanted to mention that I have given thought to providing more theories on him, but just stuck to a more generalized analysis so it’d go up quicker. I also just ended up having a lot more to say about him without theory building than I had originally thought. Next video will probably be the Kill/Cure one I mentioned in the video! After that I may make a V3 shipping video or that theory video I mentioned as well. I’ve been really itching to make a Tsumugi analysis, but feel I should have a general theory on the ending before I make it. Hope you guys enjoy the video though! Feel free to let me know your opinion on Rantaro! Also hopefully I explained everything fairly well, after so long of re-watching and re-reading through the scripts for these types of videos, it gets hard to tell haha.
SHe's been very very very overt about her being a Saimatsu fan if I recall. She mentions how good their dynamic was during her revised Top 10 characters list.
No this is a good analysis, I haven't thought of his character from all those points of views. Also I agree with the 12 sister twist. But if you dont mind, can I ask you a question I am creating my Own danganronpa story, not for any you tube videos or anything but just a fan story, I am writing on wattpad on my other gmail account, maybe you can give me some ideas or advice? Sorry if you are busy and dont want to.
Rantaro: Yeah, I lost my sister on one of the trips with my father. Shuichi: Oh, that's terrible. Rantaro: Yeah, I can't believe I lost all twelve of them. Shuichi: How do you lose twelve sisters?
MOOD I was impressed with myself for not falling for any guys in the Danganrompa series until I got to his introduction... all my pride out the window lol
Shuichi: There’s only one thing worse than death. *pulls off paper revealing Rantaro’s name above death saying “ranatro death”* Rantaro being negative: Me. Everyone else: NO-
He might actually be one of the smartest characters in the series, considering he survived the 52nd killing game. No one gives him credit for this though.
@@surrealdreams9992 He won fair, since at the end of 53 they said if they win they would need to play the killing game again. "2" people can only win, so most likely there was a girl and Rantaro sacrificed himself to do the game again.
@@surrealdreams9992 since there's 2 survivor it's not possible that rantaro killed someone, since monokuma will kill everyone except the killer if they're wrong
One thing I really appreciated about Rantaro is how he was explicitly *not* a playboy. Even his Love Hotel event was purely platonic. There aren't many characters I can safely headcanon as aromantic/asexual. (Even his design fits the aro flag ;))
@@claudia-7917 no, it's the other way around--we're talking about how he doesn't show sexual sign in *love hotel scene* which even the most childish characters like tenko and himiko show sexual desires.
@@claudia-7917 thing is, Tenko isn't either. But the love hotel kinda makes Shuichi seem as the other's dream partner. So for Rantaro to be completely platonic in that situation it kinda suggests he is aromantic. Doesn't make it certain but, well it makes it the most believable
There's a theory that the 12 sisters are actually representing the 12 that died from the last game - since it came down to the final 4 in v3, its likely a similar outcome happened in v2 where Rantaro sacrificed himself like Maki intended to do, another became the Mastermind/mole in the next game (Tsumugi/K1-b0) and then two were saved and let go (Shuichi/Himiko & 2 v2 students). So the 12 sisters were Rantaros dead v2 classmates from his memory... maybe xD
Yeah, I remember that Tsumugi said that Flashback Lights can only Insert and Override memories, and anything different from the base personality (like talent) is applied like a placebo effect. So it would make sense that "lost his 12 sisters" would be a logical synthesis when a "lost his sister" memory is overlaid with a "12 people you cared about were murdered" one.
Excellent analysis~ To me, Rantaro is portrayed as an overprotective big brother, perhaps this is stemmed from losing his sisters. There are several examples that point to this: 1) He stopped Ryoma from sacrificing himself. 2) Despite being skeptical about the clue in the survivor pad, he chose to act upon it when everyone was cornered. 3) In his love hotel scene, he told Shuichi that he wants to protect him. 4) He is implied to have chosen to sacrifice himself in the last killing game in order to let others win, that is how he became the Ultimate Survivor. This, in my opinion, is the reason why he acted alone, carrying the burden by himself (which is implied in the love hotel scene and his free time event). Ultimately, it was his overprotective nature that caused his downfall. Last but not least, this is just my own speculation, the reason why Rantaro wants to join the killing game is to end the killing game. He mentioned in his video that if "he" was smart, he would use it to end the killing game.
I do like Rantaro's design and character, we really don't see that much from him except for his calm personality. I really HOPE we get a prequel about Rantaro's first killing game experience to learn more about him, that is if he still had the same personality as he had in the 53rd killing game but more than likely not because he was the Ultimate Adventurer. I'd like to see more from Tsumugi in the previous killing game too if there was an actual prequel. Gotta keep my fingers crossed 🤞. I know Kodaka said he didn't want to drag on the series but there is still so many questions that haven't been answered yet, I'm just dying for another game 😣
What Kodaka said was that he didn't want the series to define him,or for himto define the entire franchise. The way I see it, he created this game, which can be either the end of the franchise, or a new start. And it's upto Spike Chunsoft and whomever picks up the franchise to determine where it's going next. His precise words where something like "I want to look back and proudly say 'I worked on this series'"
I can imagine a killing game where Rantaro is one of the main characters. His final sacrifice letting the last survivors leave, their fates a mystery. Then in his final scene in Danganronpa 52, he sits on a chair. “If your watching this..”
I want a DR game where we play as a cool dude who choses to sacrifice himself in orden to let his waifu scape. But Monokuma finds out and gets mad, so she gets capture and punished. We later get a post game scene where both get their faces surgically modified, turning them into Rantaro and Tsumugi. The game wouldn't be revealed to be DR52 until you finished it.
The only reason I'm not that into the idea of a prequel for Rantaro is because we already know he'd be the only survivor of the 52nd killing game. So it takes the fun of guessing who will survive out of it.
I'm just going to be gay for a sec, Rantaro is so pretty! And from what we get to see about him he just wants to protect everyone! It's so cute and wholesome!
I think that Rantaro is the real hero of V3's story arc. What I mean by this is that V3 is at the end of it's timeline and the new games will likely be prequels to it. One of the prequels I think will be the one that Rantaro partook in and survived, that game will have him as the protagonist. The other game I think will be the Ultra Despair Girls 2 V3 promoted with Kaede's sister mentioned in V3 as the protagonist of that game. Kodaka doesn't give his characters ahoges if they're not important. Evidence supporting this is Rantaro's mysterious past ie the things he says in his Free time events, he talks alot about how he survived a previous killing game and his adventures. All this talk about his past points to that he's experienced a killing game before. Basically my theory is that this new storyline is really about Rantaro similar to how the Hopes Peak arc revolves around Makoto.
Also, I HOPE for the Prequel one being true. Because if you think about it, he joined a killing game previously, and If he views himself as 'smart', that is most likely a game protagonist view. But this is a theory. I have a lots of theories but I am lazy.
The 12 sisters thing, much like the Reptite thing with Gonta and the Eaten by a Whale thing with Kaito, I saw them as basically the game pointing out that the backgrounds are fake. For Gonta and Kaito its more because the two characters are so truthful that it seems weird for them to lie, but with Rantaro, since you already know that his background is fake by the time you can hang out with him, the 12 sisters thing acts like a bait and switch, as his well written backstory can make you feel sorry for him, but then they add the last detail to remind you his backstory is fake. Just how I saw it though.
But then they would have added something to Kaede's which they didn't. Gonta's storyline was bogus fromthe start since he was taken care of by wolves and if you know anything about animals you would know Japanese wolves have been extinct in Japan for at least a hundred years (1905 was the last confirmed sighting in fact). The twelve sisters thing, while making a little of a gag of a rather sad situation, is something that's not entirely alien to danganronpa. We've seen much stranger things in the series. Def nothing on the level of the Reptite stories of Gonta, or Kaito's stupid tall tales (which I think we were always supposed to believe were false as Kaito NEVER tells you anything truthful about himself). Basically, I wouldn't find it odd for him to actually have twelve sisters. Stupid yes, unrealistic by danganronpa standards? Nah. This is a series where giant teddy bears destroyed the world you know. And where ghost posession was confirmed as real.
The point still stands that even his "believable" lie was full of holes. That's what I meant. Having twelve sisters is just weirdly stupid but nothing that goes "nah, that isn't true".
Yeah, if it were told to me before the reveal that all the backstories are fake then I would have found it dumb but still take it at face value. But you can only hang out with Rantaro as Shuichi after you already know its fake, so having the ridiculous factor so suddenly contrast such a grounded story right at the end reminded me it was fake.
I just realized, Rantaro's backstory is actually pretty traumatizing, constantly losing more and more of the people you love but never wanting to give up on finding them or else you would never forgive yourself. This would cause a lot of issues
One thing that I thought was interesting about Rantaro was his Love Hotel. It described how his student, which I'm guessing represented a sister or younger sibling, and him were talking about how Rantaro is going to leave. What interested me was how Rantaro mentioned that he might die. Since I already knew about the dangers of his traveling to fins his sisters, I didn't think much of it. Before I realized that he could have been talking about his first killing game. Maybe in his actual life he had younger siblings, which was the inspiration for his fabricated backstory and talent. He could of told his younger siblings that he was joining the killing game and his deepest desire was seeing them again. (I know this really doesn't work because the rest of the cast didn't remember their previous lives, but I was just thinking about how the brainwashing process for the second time could have brought unconscious memories to the forefront, without Rantaro actually understanding what they mean)
Can you do a " Ryoma Hoshi " Character analysis please? Edit: Also Rantaro would fit the "mastermind Role" so well. Edit 2: Wow people must really love Hoshi.
I feel like they did the best out of a first victim character they could do. What I'd love to see is some kind of Danganronpa 52 where Amami and (maybe) Shirogane appear. I'd imagine Amami as either a really new concept of protagonist (distrusting and a little more harsh than the others) or in the Komaeda/Ouma griefer role. You could do a lot with just the plot that he has lost his memories from the previous killing game. I'm not sure how they would handle Danganronpa 52 when the player knows from the beginning that it's all fictional and we are basically spoiled from the beginning. In the final chapter it's stated that Amami sacrified himself and play the next killing game to grant 2 people the right to go to the outside world. I'm really interested in who these characters are and how Amami came to the conclusion to sacrifice himself. When I played the game, I was already prepared to see him die although he is such a good character with the potential to live longer and many people don't think so but I think he fits the V3 cast so well like almost no other character.
They should make a manga for him. Also it actually makes me sad that he couldn’t live on for at least 1 trial... He could’ve made the game way more interesting in boring moments.
@@jigglypuff452 Kodaka has suggested before that the writer for the spinoff Danganronpa Togami could possibly make Danganronpa Amami. The demand is there, so who knows?
@@slowyourroll1146 or they can have V3 DLC called V3PRE where it’s the last 2 trials of V2 since Rantaro got wiped out and forgot memories of the first 4 trials and you get to meet like 5 or 6 new characters. A full game would be too much since you know the ending and it wouldn’t stand well on its own.
Have you guys noticed that rantaro shows a creepy resemblance to nagito There had gestures are very similar Same body posture Hair are king similar And they both have a kind of laid back attitude
@@kaylafincher3610 Ren Amamiya is the definitive canon name because what Atlus decided to call him in a game they made. People just wanted him to call him a name and attached themselves to the manga name, despite the fact the previous protagonist took the anime/game name.
@@kaylafincher3610 In the Japanese trailer of Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight (aka. Dancing Star Night in Japan) it says that Joker's name is Ren Amamiya. This was around when the anime came out so it was confirmed canon as soon as it was revealed.
I love Rantaro so much I wish he lived longer :(. I felt like he had a lot of potential to be an amazing character and how his character was introduced it felt like he was meant to live longer. RIP to my best boy.
this really describes Rantaro, i really like Rantaro, because he is such a nice careful person that always tries his best. and he takes everything the easy way, he doesn't panic in serious situations. and i don't find it surprising that he is The Ultimate Adventurer. i overall really like him, even though he didn't get a chance to show all of this in the main story.....
!! Chapter 6 Spoilers !! I think it’s a nice touch that proves that he is the Ultimate Survivor. Technically Rantaro was supposed to die from Kaede but he didn’t actually die from it so be survived that attack but Tsumugi finished it off. I’m confident that if it was another stydent they would have died from Kaede right away.
I really wish he had survived longer. I think he would've been an amazing character to have as a survivor and high key I get sad thinking about how little time he has in the game
Ironically rantaro opened up to kaede and shuichi, the only other mastermind hunters, he could have been warned about the cameras and prove to them that there is indeed a mastermind in the school. I can’t help but imagine what it would be like with the trio trying to expose the truth. It could have even ended before case 5.
On the wiki it says that he and another student supposedly gave their lives for hope to survive, but Rantaro's punishment ended up being in DRV3. I honestly would like DRV2 just so we could see what happened during that season and have Rantaro be the protag. Before I knew this I thought he ended up killing someone to save his sisters and "won" that season (which sounds cooler tbh).
i can confirm amami means love me in Italian. here's a little bit more of trivia for ya. in Spanish, love me is amame. which is fairly similar to Italian. which happens all the time.
Can you pretty please do Sonia!! I'm a fellow analyser, but I can't really see that she is what she appears to be, idk what but I would like your input. So pretty please do Sonia Nevermind!!!
Idk why but I feel like he’s the type of cooler older brother that came with your step-dad after stepdad married Kaede (mother) and K1-B0 is your younger brother, and then Angie is the stepsister that is extremely religious, and Maki is your older sister who is in her last year of college that is coming home at 1am on July 23rd, ready to start a new life in her small town she was born in. Idk, just what I think. But who’s gonna be the dad?
Hi guys I’m a bit late but… **RANTARO AMAMI: THE ENIGMA OF INTEREST, WHILE TSUGUMI FALLS FLAT** --- Rantaro Amami is one of the most intriguing and multifaceted characters in the Danganronpa series. His calm demeanor, mysterious past, and the layers of complexity beneath his seemingly laid-back attitude make him a figure worth exploring. In contrast, Tsugumi’s character, despite her role, fails to measure up, lacking the depth and intrigue that make Rantaro stand out. --- ## THE ENIGMATIC PRESENCE OF RANTARO AMAMI From the moment Rantaro steps into the spotlight, there's an undeniable aura of mystery surrounding him. His calm and collected nature hints at a depth of experience and knowledge that immediately sets him apart. Unlike many characters who wear their emotions on their sleeves, Rantaro’s ability to maintain a cool, composed exterior makes him all the more compelling. Every interaction with him feels like peeling back layers of an intricate puzzle, leaving you wanting to know more about what lies beneath. --- ## A MAN OF MANY SECRETS What makes Rantaro truly fascinating is the wealth of secrets that surround him. His past is shrouded in mystery, and his motivations are not immediately clear, adding an element of suspense and curiosity to his character. Unlike Tsugumi, who often feels one-dimensional in her portrayal, Rantaro’s character is rich with potential storylines and hidden depths. His enigmatic background keeps you guessing, making him a character who holds your attention and sparks your imagination. --- ## A SENSE OF QUIET CONFIDENCE Rantaro exudes a quiet confidence that is both refreshing and captivating. He doesn’t need to be loud or overbearing to make his presence known; his calm and thoughtful approach to situations speaks volumes. This confidence, paired with his mysterious nature, makes Rantaro a character you can’t help but respect and be intrigued by. In comparison, Tsugumi’s attempts at asserting control often come off as forced and shallow, lacking the subtlety and finesse that Rantaro naturally possesses. --- ## THE DEPTH OF A TRUE SURVIVOR Rantaro’s character is defined by his resilience and ability to adapt. He has clearly faced challenges in his past, and this has shaped him into someone who is not only capable but also wise beyond his years. His experience and the quiet strength he carries are what make him truly interesting. Tsugumi, despite her position, doesn’t exhibit the same depth or complexity, often feeling more like a plot device than a fully realized character. Rantaro, on the other hand, feels authentic, someone whose journey you want to follow and understand. --- ## TSUGUMI: A CHARACTER THAT FALLS SHORT While Tsugumi holds a significant role in the narrative, her character often feels underwhelming. Despite her importance, she lacks the depth and complexity that make a character truly memorable. Her actions and decisions often come across as predictable and uninspired, failing to evoke the same intrigue or respect that Rantaro naturally commands. While Tsugumi’s role may be pivotal, it’s Rantaro who leaves a lasting impression, with a character that feels fully realized and endlessly interesting. --- ## THE COMPARISON THAT REVEALS EVERYTHING When comparing the two, it becomes clear just how much Rantaro outshines Tsugumi. His layered personality, quiet strength, and the mysteries that surround him make him a character who is not only intriguing but also deeply engaging. Tsugumi, by contrast, seems to rely too heavily on her position rather than any inherent character traits, leaving her feeling flat and uninteresting in comparison. Rantaro’s character is a masterclass in subtlety and depth, something that Tsugumi’s character sorely lacks. --- In conclusion, Rantaro Amami stands as one of the most interesting and enigmatic characters in the Danganronpa series. His quiet confidence, mysterious past, and the depth of his character make him someone who captures your attention and keeps you invested. In contrast, Tsugumi’s character fails to reach the same heights, lacking the complexity and intrigue that make Rantaro so compelling. Where Tsugumi falls flat, Rantaro soars, solidifying his place as one of the most fascinating characters in the series. **RANTARO AMAMI: AN ENDLESSLY INTRIGUING CHARACTER** --- **A MYSTERIOUS PAST THAT CAPTIVATES** Rantaro’s past is one of the most intriguing aspects of his character. The enigma surrounding his history immediately draws you in, making you want to learn more about where he came from and what experiences have shaped him. Unlike other characters who wear their backstories on their sleeves, Rantaro’s past is hinted at in subtle ways, leaving just enough breadcrumbs to keep you hooked. This mystery adds depth to his character, making him someone who you can't help but be fascinated by. --- **AN UNCONVENTIONAL HERO** Rantaro isn’t your typical hero, and that’s what makes him so interesting. He doesn’t seek the spotlight or try to prove himself through grand gestures. Instead, his heroism is quiet and understated, shown through his actions, wisdom, and the way he interacts with others. He’s a character who leads not by force, but by example, and this unconventional approach makes him stand out in a sea of more overtly flashy personalities. --- **A CALM AMIDST CHAOS** In a world often filled with chaos and uncertainty, Rantaro’s calm demeanor is incredibly refreshing. He has a way of staying composed and level-headed even in the most intense situations, which not only makes him a reliable presence but also adds to his intrigue. This calmness isn’t just a surface-level trait-it speaks to a deeper inner strength and wisdom that makes Rantaro a fascinating character to watch and understand. --- **A COMPLEXITY THAT KEEPS YOU GUESSING** Rantaro’s character is filled with layers that keep you guessing. He’s not just a one-dimensional figure; there’s a rich complexity to him that unfolds gradually. Whether it’s his mysterious past, his calm intelligence, or the way he navigates the challenges thrown his way, there’s always something more to learn about Rantaro. This complexity ensures that he remains interesting throughout the story, always leaving you wanting to know more. --- **SUBTLE YET POWERFUL PRESENCE** Rantaro doesn’t need to be loud or overly assertive to make an impact. His presence is subtle, yet undeniably powerful. He’s the type of character who can say more with a few thoughtful words than others can with lengthy monologues. This understated power makes him incredibly compelling, as it shows that true strength doesn’t always need to be overt or aggressive-it can be quiet, steady, and deeply rooted in character. --- **A CHARACTER OF DEPTH AND SUBSTANCE** What sets Rantaro apart from many other characters is the depth and substance he brings to the story. He’s not just there to fill a role or advance the plot; he feels like a real person with his own thoughts, motivations, and history. This depth makes him not only interesting but also relatable, as he comes across as someone who’s more than just a collection of traits or a role in the narrative. Rantaro is a character with real substance, which makes him endlessly intriguing to follow. --- **A SENSE OF INTRIGUE THAT NEVER FADES** Perhaps the most compelling aspect of Rantaro is that his sense of intrigue never fades. From the moment he’s introduced, he captures your attention, and as the story progresses, this intrigue only deepens. Whether it’s his mysterious past, his calm and collected nature, or the way he interacts with the world around him, Rantaro is a character who keeps you engaged at every turn. His ability to maintain this level of interest throughout the story is a testament to just how unique and fascinating he truly is. Rantaro Amami's enigmatic aura and ambiguous past make him a compelling character in Danganronpa V3. His charm and intelligence draw players in, as they unravel the mysteries surrounding him. His role in the game keeps fans guessing and theorizing, adding to the intrigue of the storyline. Sure, Rantaro Amami is a mysterious and enigmatic character in Danganronpa V3. His calm demeanor and hidden depths captivate players, leaving them intrigued by his past and true intentions. He adds a layer of intrigue to the game, making players question his motives and role in the killing game.
I feel like you do a great job at spreading light onto characters I don't like as much as the rest of the cast (ie Hiyoko and Kazuichi). Because of this I would like an Angie analysis (if you want to do one I don't want to force you :/ ). I can tell there is more to her character but I still can't tell what and she seems kinda grating to me idk
I really like Rantaros character design, hes a calm boi whos also misterious and carring. I wonder how he would have been in the game though- I mean if he would have lived longer, how would he acted? Maybe he would have even killed someone (I hope not) just to see his sisters again? Or how would he be in a class trial? Its sad that he had to go so early ;-;
Could you do an Angie Yonaga analysis ? I feel like a lot of people DOESN'T understand her true intention who were GOOD. First of all, her destroying the flashback light was one of the most clever act in the game, considering it was all lies and bad stuff. When you do her FTE, you realise she's quite lonely in reality, and that she doesn't realise she annoys everyone. Her student council too started from a good intention. If you do one, it would be cool ^^ The fandom needs to understand her better just like Hiyoko.
I have a theory about why he is calm during the killing game. Since he’s the “Ultimate Survivor” and he’s been through more than one killing game, so maybe he has learned how to control his emotions since he’s been through the same situation.
A Kingdom Hearts character analysis would be nice. Especially if it's RIku or Roxas. As for DR character analysis requests, I hope you do Maki or Miu soon. Anyway, fantastic work on the video Weeby and congrats on the 60k subs :)
I don't dislike the twelve sisters twist personally. I myself have quite a lot of siblings, I'm the oldest sister amongst 7(step, half and full blooded) and it really can be difficult for parents and older siblings to watch over so many younger ones. Also if Rantaro's family is as renowned as he states, it is very possible that his family was a target for people wanting to take hostages for money, especially IF the most tragic event in human history still follows the other games into V3(Hopefully this may be explained in later entries). Though if this is the case, worse may actually have happened. It could be possible that all 12 of his siblings were kidnapped around the same time too. The parallels between Kaede and Rantaro are definitely there upon re watching V3. Considering that it is her POV, we don't truly get to see what our antagonists are up too(for Kaede it was Rantaro, for Shuichi it was Kokichi) so I like to think that behind the scenes Rantaro and Kokichi had somewhat of a similar thing going for them as our protagonists did. Kokichi DID start collecting murder evidence after Ch.1 as seen in his room, though I don't know why he would go through the trouble of taking Rantaro's effigy when Ryoma's would have been much less effort to drag back. Unless they were ,of course, connected somehow. I'd like to think that they were looking for as many secrets as possible, or something along those lines in Ch.1. Both of our antagonist DO hide behind a "mask" in this game. I think that Kokichi knew that he was the antagonist ever since he started writing on the horse a rock way back in ch.2, it is wierd that the answer to the puzzle in Rantaro's lab actually connects back to Kokichi's Birth Sign for some reason(he's the only Gemini in this cast, also with his name as well translating to prince horse or something along those lines). He may have known even before that, in his introduction he called himself an "evil supreme leader" after all. I find it a major missed opportunity that Shuichi never decided to do his own investigations on Kokichi to see where he went when he went missing almost constantly. I think that Kokichi wanted to be caught, and I know the love hotel scenes aren't canon, but between chapters 2-4 Kokichi really did seem to want to grab Shuichi's attention, even to an aggressive and straight up pissed off point in Ch.4s trial. Kokichi also laid on that Shuichi is going to "save everyone" pretty thickly, and that they are in a "game", not a killing game, in that chapter too. He made sure that he was not going to be seen as the hero right then and there. It's too bad that we didn't get a chapter in this game like with Komaeda in DR2, that would have definitely helped with clearing some theories as to what the hell went through Kokichi's head in this game. Rantaro's POV probably would have been much more paranoid induced then what he was letting on considering the information that he was allowed, at this point I actually do feel bad for the guy, Kaede's POV really does make a first time viewer see him negatively(not that she's a bad protagonist or anything). I could be wrong on some of my points here though if anyone wants to add to these. It is mostly speculation.
I agree on the 12 sisters thing, it was pretty silly :/ Anyway I loved the analysis! I was pretty confused on the video thing as well, so thanks for clarifying it's a mistranslation. I'm really curious to hear your theory on the ending, since I keep having trouble finding one that doesn't ignore contradictory info. And yeah I'd love to see a Tsumugi analysis after that, she's the hardest danganronpa character to analyse imo because of how many layers of potential lies she's buried in. OH and if you're going to do a Kingdom Hearts character analysis, please please please do Roxas
So what is the killing game that he survived

Who's Ranatro
He might actually be one of the smartest characters in the series, considering he survived the 52nd killing game. No one gives him credit for this though.
Probably murdered someone and the class trial got the wrong person.
@@surrealdreams9992 He won fair, since at the end of 53 they said if they win they would need to play the killing game again. "2" people can only win, so most likely there was a girl and Rantaro sacrificed himself to do the game again.

One thing I really appreciated about Rantaro is how he was explicitly *not* a playboy. Even his Love Hotel event was purely platonic. There aren't many characters I can safely headcanon as aromantic/asexual. (Even his design fits the aro flag ;))
Yeah he basically shows zero romantic or sexual interest in anyone, it's borderline canon imo
@@blabbitybla2780 i mean...he does die in the first chapter so it's not like he's got the opportunity to
@@claudia-7917 no, it's the other way around--we're talking about how he doesn't show sexual sign in *love hotel scene* which even the most childish characters like tenko and himiko show sexual desires.
@@firepuppies4086 he's silent now
There's a theory that the 12 sisters are actually representing the 12 that died from the last game - since it came down to the final 4 in v3, its likely a similar outcome happened in v2 where Rantaro sacrificed himself like Maki intended to do, another became the Mastermind/mole in the next game (Tsumugi/K1-b0) and then two were saved and let go (Shuichi/Himiko & 2 v2 students). So the 12 sisters were Rantaros dead v2 classmates from his memory... maybe xD
That makes sense to me, that they took his memories of the killing game and distorted them.
Also what if v2 was on a boat cause like he said he sailed around on his dads ship and stuff.
Almost lost me at the end but that's actually very interesting.
@@Tape231 The remnants of despair travelled to the dangan island on a boat for the kg so most likely yes
Excellent analysis~
To me, Rantaro is portrayed as an overprotective big brother, perhaps this is stemmed from losing his sisters. There are several examples that point to this:
1) He stopped Ryoma from sacrificing himself.
I turned your likes to 69
I do like Rantaro's design and character, we really don't see that much from him except for his calm personality.
His precise words where something like "I want to look back and proudly say 'I worked on this series'"
the thing is though, if they were to make this prequel, it would immediately spoil v3. So it's between a rock and a hard place.
I'm just going to be gay for a sec,
Rantaro is so pretty!

@@CameronQX *double the importance*

Also, I HOPE for the Prequel one being true. Because if you think about it, he joined a killing game previously, and If he views himself as 'smart', that is most likely a game protagonist view. But this is a theory. I have a lots of theories but I am lazy.

He’s the opposite of Maki when you think about it
The 12 sisters thing, much like the Reptite thing with Gonta and the Eaten by a Whale thing with Kaito, I saw them as basically the game pointing out that the backgrounds are fake.
@@LeonGun8 Well, to be fair, Gonta wasn't actually raised by wolves. That was a lie to hide his "forest family".
@@shadyspot8284 Where has that been confirmed or has it been said in the game?

People need to stop taking Shuichi's words as fact
They should make a manga for him. Also it actually makes me sad that he couldn’t live on for at least 1 trial... He could’ve made the game way more interesting in boring moments.

Hi guys I’m a bit late but…
**RANTARO AMAMI: THE ENIGMA OF INTEREST, WHILE TSUGUMI FALLS FLAT**
---
Rantaro Amami is one of the most intriguing and multifaceted characters in the Danganronpa series. His calm demeanor, mysterious past, and the layers of complexity beneath his seemingly laid-back attitude make him a figure worth exploring. In contrast, Tsugumi’s character, despite her role, fails to measure up, lacking the depth and intrigue that make Rantaro stand out.
---
## THE ENIGMATIC PRESENCE OF RANTARO AMAMI
From the moment Rantaro steps into the spotlight, there's an undeniable aura of mystery surrounding him.
---
## A MAN OF MANY SECRETS
What makes Rantaro truly fascinating is the wealth of secrets that surround him.
---
## A SENSE OF QUIET CONFIDENCE
Rantaro exudes a quiet confidence that is both refreshing and captivating.
---
## THE DEPTH OF A TRUE SURVIVOR
Rantaro’s character is defined by his resilience and ability to adapt.
---
## TSUGUMI: A CHARACTER THAT FALLS SHORT
While Tsugumi holds a significant role in the narrative, her character often feels underwhelming.
---
## THE COMPARISON THAT REVEALS EVERYTHING
When comparing the two, it becomes clear just how much Rantaro outshines Tsugumi.
---
In conclusion, Rantaro Amami stands as one of the most interesting and enigmatic characters in the Danganronpa series.
**RANTARO AMAMI: AN ENDLESSLY INTRIGUING CHARACTER**
---
**A MYSTERIOUS PAST THAT CAPTIVATES**
Rantaro’s past is one of the most intriguing aspects of his character.
---
**AN UNCONVENTIONAL HERO**
Rantaro isn’t your typical hero, and that’s what makes him so interesting.
---
**A CALM AMIDST CHAOS**
In a world often filled with chaos and uncertainty, Rantaro’s calm demeanor is incredibly refreshing.
---
**A COMPLEXITY THAT KEEPS YOU GUESSING**
Rantaro’s character is filled with layers that keep you guessing.
---
**SUBTLE YET POWERFUL PRESENCE**
Rantaro doesn’t need to be loud or overly assertive to make an impact.
---
**A CHARACTER OF DEPTH AND SUBSTANCE**
What sets Rantaro apart from many other characters is the depth and substance he brings to the story.
---
**A SENSE OF INTRIGUE THAT NEVER FADES**
Perhaps the most compelling aspect of Rantaro is that his sense of intrigue never fades.

I want a side game of the 52nd Killing Game with Rantaro being either the protagonist or the Komaeda/Kokichi type of character
imagine you're on chapter 2 and you see that rantaro's video is 17 minutes long
Let’s face it, we’ve all called Rantaro “avocado” at least once
I absolutely love rantaro and this vid of course
I have a theory about why he is calm during the killing game. Since he’s the “Ultimate Survivor” and he’s been through more than one killing game, so maybe he has learned how to control his emotions since he’s been through the same situation.
best boy rantaro
A Kingdom Hearts character analysis would be nice. Especially if it's RIku or Roxas. As for DR character analysis requests, I hope you do Maki or Miu soon. Anyway, fantastic work on the video Weeby and congrats on the 60k subs :)
We needed more rantaro
"Dead.... or worse"
excuse me what
I don't dislike the twelve sisters twist personally.
Do mahiru koizumi
Mike Val Her mother is war photographer and her father is lazy and always drunk, that's why she acts to guys in that way.
That's all.
Rest In Peace king you were SO fucking fine
I loved Rantaro... I literally cried when he died.
Rantaro is soooo cuteeee
But that’s Kayayades lie isn’t it.
Rantaro: Whoops, where’d I put all my sisters? 🧐
A smart boy who helped
I’m actually wanting to see more of Rantaro’s story. They had so much potential with his character and they kind of threw it away.
I love to watch ur videos when I'm bored!
