    Question here: I'm finnish, although I've lost most of my languague since I've been living in sweden for the last 45 years. However. I do have some rememberance of it still. My question is. I can't recognize the accent of finnish you're using. I'm originally from northern Karelia (Lieksa), and the way I pronounce let's say the ää in hyvää is widely different from the way it sounds in the video. It sounds like an open A in the video, but I use a more defined Ä (same as the swedish sounding aquivalent). What dialect is this, or is the teacher a second language speaker of finnish?

    • @RussianwithAnastasia

    Sinulla on aika vahva slaavilainen aksentti. Y-kirjaimen lausuminen kuulostaa oudolta. Sen lausumisessa ei käytetä J-äännettä.

      Native language always shows (very, very rarely not). If it isn't your first language, your native language has imprints and causes pronunciation "errors" to later languages you learn. But that's all fine! Everyone who studied Finnish as a second language, make their own way of pronouncing it. Yep, Russian native language is easily recognizeable with these J-sounds.

    Moikka and Heippa remind me of Japanese. If you double a consonant in Japanese there is a space before you pronounce the consonant and the following syllable. Seems like you did that for those words as well.

    Can you explain what is the sound of 'y' in finnish? I can't pronounce it well :(

    • @RussianwithAnastasia
      @RussianwithAnastasia  9 років тому +1

      hello, Sandra Vargas ! What is your native language?
      I hope this might be hepful:
      Y - is like French U or German U-umlaut (Ü, i.e. U with two dots above it); this can cause some difficulties for English-speaking people, but you might try the following: prepare your mouth for pronouncing the i sound (as in "hit") but round your lips and breathe out
      Y: close to the u in the British pronunciation of "you" with tight lips

    Ja jos joskus syliin mustan maan
    Mä sua joudun kantamaan
    Niin minä sinua vaan

    Hukkasin aamu-keskiyöllä vähän ahistaa
    Mä haluun soittaa sulle, vaikka ei oo asiaa
    Miten menee, onpa hitonmoinen ikävä
    Mä tarviin sua, niin kuin lapsi tarvii äitiä
    Ah, mikä tän saikaan aikaan
    Mä oon valmis sun kaa vaikka asuntolainaan
    Oon paljon poissa, mutta ikinä en koditon
    Siel missä sä oot, siellä mun koti on

      I intend to make more videos and put up a list in blogger or sth. Many people have made good videos and I need to search for them.

    What is your story? Do you live in Finland?

    • @RussianwithAnastasia
      @RussianwithAnastasia  10 років тому +8

      No, I do not live in Finland, I did however study there as an exchange student at the university of Oulu for a semester. And for short trips I visited beautiful Finland like 20+ times!

    Good lesson, but pay in mind that you have a small slavic accent. So it's not a native Finnish accent. But by all means, keep making more videos :)

    Тоже так хочу , но для меня мой барьер это английский , сначала учила " упрощенный английский " ua-cam.com/users/pro100english , теперь хочу по книгам учить , купила несколько разговорников . Надеюсь для поступление в загран универ этого хватит.

    Well, i´m not finnish but as i learned the finnish y has to be pronounced like the german ü. I´m german, so .. yeah.
    your finnish y sounds like a german U, not like an Ü ;)

      +Moi Kaikki, I'm sorry, it's just when you wanted to type 'Finland' you actually typed 'Findland' and I couldn't help but make a joke about this 'Find' part in your mistake 😃
      Never mind. Sorry again.
