These are so hilarious to watch as a native speaker :D if you want someone to know you are angry, you just say "perkele". You NEED to learn it.
that's just cruel
Jeremy Hellen Not really :)
Even though it is used as a swear word it has positive vibe in it :D
Used basically when something pisses you off, something makes you angry, or something goes wrong, therefore it's usually funny for the others :D
That reminds me of a scene in I Remember Mama.
@@leopartanen9431 yes basically :D
I'm not a native but I am semi fluent in Finnish cussing courtesy of my Finnish friend
Finnish in three minutes? That’s why my wife left me.
BMPSHH!
she's so pretty!!!
"Hei" or "terve" = regular greeting
"Moi" = friendly greeting (to someone you know otherwise it might be weird)
"Moikka" or "heippa" = friendly bye
Use "hei" if you want to interrupt someone
You don't have to say "hyvää" = good with "huomenta" = morning, "päivää" = day and "iltaa" = evening
Only in "hyvää yötä" = good night (only used when going to sleep)
Or without "hyvää" you can say "öitä" = nights (mostly used with other people outside of your own family) cannot be used with "hyvää"
If you have any question about Finnish language, I can answer it :)
To add that in Finland there is no need to be super formal when interacting with cashiers so many people seem to greet them with "moi". However, when leaving the store you shouldn't use "moikka" and "moi moi" because they are only used between friends and I think many cashiers would find that rather confusing - thus not polite.
It is true that in everyday situations "hyvää" is often left out. For example "iltaa" is already in partitive case so the "hyvää" can be implied from the context. That's at least how I see it.
@@tyynymyy7770 Hmm... When I go to Finnish stores, bars, restaurants, employees greets me with moi/hei (80/20%), and always says goodbye as moi-moi. (No matter, the rest of the dialogue is in English.) Do I look so friendly? =)
Do finish people speak english because i wanna go to Finland but i can't learn the language cuz im already learning Chinese and spanish
@@technocat8197 Very well actually, there are no doubt about that. You can get service in English everywhere in Finland, so welcome here 🤗
@@technocat8197 young people should be ok with conversational English. I know a lot of those in my age group that can speak well but also those who can't and won't at all.
Just don't go around trying to small talk

Love that about Finland. Hugs =
Thanks. Great lessons. kiitos :) But how do you say "please" for things? I have a trip to helsinki coming up.. I want to be polite.
Abigail Burchill there is no 'please' in finnish instead we do use 'kiitos' as 'please' its not exactly the same.
And btw dont be worried about being polite, finish people are not polite compared to most countries.
Abigail Burchill a bit late sorry:)
Is that the silja ferry?
keren
you know in 1 game i had a friend her name was maria and she told me that hi in finnish means moi
I'm not here to learn Finnish. I'm here for this beauty.
Pervert.
Kawaii111 Juuliacchi ROBLOX You're here for the same reason dummy.
troywin45 me to!!
wow, seriously?
troywin45 boo
you can say MOI , when you meet friends! It's more relaxed, and friendlier than hei, which is in fact quite formal, distant and "cold". One says "Hei" in a bank or when meeting a stranger. so MOI, and MOI MOI when leaving!
I only know English and some French. The way some words are pronounced kinda sound similar to Japanese in my opinion
You definitely should accept PayPal for purchasing the package, otherwise my bank doesn´t allow me to buy on your site as you don´t have the necessary fields to put my whole address. Is there any other payment method? or do you know an estimated date when you will accept PayPal?
Thanks!
Send us an email at contactus@site.com and we’ll try to help you out :)
i read that some people use "terve" as a greeting. is that right?
+kettenfett Moi Kettenfett! Yes, that's right! You can also use "terve" as a greeting. Just to let you know, it is also an adjective, meaning 'healthy' or 'sane'. ;)
Learn Finnish with FinnishPod101.com kiitos! :)
kettenfett correct
So you can use both ”hei”, ”terve” and ”moi” to simply say ‘Hi’? OK.
On kivaa olla suomalainen😂😂😂

Hyvää iltaa i speak finnish
What's the difference in pronunciation between "aa" and "ää"?
+Emi Altea "ä" is like "a" in cat, apple and mad. "a" is like letter "a" in car, palm and garden.
+asdkdodj dshje Oh I see. Thanks!! :)
+Emi Altea Hi Emi Altea!
When pronouncing the Finnish 'a', you can say the English word "part" - the way you say 'a' in this word, is the way you say 'a' in Finnish too. And when you want to pronounce 'ä', you can say for example "Adam" or "cat", and the Finnish 'ä' will be pronounced like the 'a' is pronounced in these English words.
Thats crazy sounds difficult than swedish which i was thing its the hardest lang to learn
Why when we say "hyvää päivää" there is "ää" at the end of the word and there is only "ä" in hyvä yötä ?
Hello GéométryDash COC,
If words ending in 2 vowels or 1 consonant, then add -ta/-tä ending in partitive form.
Cheers, Aarni

ive been wanting to learn More Languages & I do like Finish it sounds similar to Swedish are they Related in anyway?
*****
actually Magyar is more like Sumerian than Finno-Ugric - that is the new theory anyway... regardless Finnish is a Uralic language like Estonian so yes :D and Swedish is Norse
MetalHeart8787 Finnish is same like Estonian almost and Finland other language is Sweden.
What about 'moi'?
Im from finland
Menisitkö kanssani naimisiin?
I just pay my attentions to her only ;) ;)
Oh my godddd!!!
dillion harper?
Hän on kauneus !
Its not, she looks like Japanese xD
Well she has roundness in facial forms so yeah she could go for a Japanese too (in a black wig). But she looks quite Finnish.
@@MrJuulia01 it is funny. I' v seen in english series same looking ppl and nobody says they look japanese, but when a finn is there omg they look asiatic.
To me she does not lok japanese at all.
Can you also say moi
Se on three
Finnish girls saying hei hei are so lovely and cutie.
Her eyes so big i got lost
I watched some arabpod and the girl there is also absolutely beautiful, someone chooses right their models
Terve!
Where is TERVE? Finns say it a lot!
terve means "Healthy" or "Welcome to" but it could be used to say "good" or "cool", deppends ont he context
Marco Ruiz Terve can be used as a greeting ("Hi", "Hello") or as an adjective meaning "healthy" or "well" (as an opposite of ill). The rest of the meanings you gave it are wrong.
There are so many greetings and goodbyes used in Finland. She can't have them all in this short video.
It depends on the region/dialect. Where I used to live, it was rare to hear it and had the stigma of being something a juntti would say
While english is now day became International language is hard to learn scandinavian language its only good for refugee and people they migrated to finland and settled their ....Most beast the left comment here because of beauty of this young lady for me as a tourist is good but as soon as I get to Aircraft i will leave finnish language at Airport behind because non of world country speak finnish ....in any country best way to learn language to find a native partner of that country that's so effective

fan va många prickar när man skriver!? >:0 äääääiääiäiäiäiiiiääääääääääiiiii
Happy easter = Hyvää pääsiäistä
There you have 9 vowels and only one doesn't have dots. Although if we used the same letter for y as Germans and Estonians (the letter ü) all would have dots :D
what about moi moi?
"Moi moi" has the same meaning than "hei hei" = bye bye.
Hi Petrie!
Yes! You can also say 'moi moi'! This one is an informal and very friendly phrase, and is usually used between friends or relatives. When meeting them, you can just say 'moi', and when departing, you can say 'moi moi'.

Depends on the person, but mostly no
Sounds like jäpanese
Göcs Jëss where do you find the similarities? I mean, the way to pronounce is so different haha
It's like syllabic.
Göcs Jëss Both are agglutinate languages (where many suffixes attach to the root word); but they're unrelated in other senses.
Göcs Jëss I'm finnish.. I'm learning japanese by myself... uhhh.. It does not sound anything like japanese
いいえ ?
No it's not easy 😂
