Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers - Guitar Cover by Aaron Beeken

Here is my take on Jeff Beck’s classic instrumental Cause We’ve Ended as Lovers. Jeff Beck is a guitarists guitarist and one of the greatest players to revolutionise the guitar industry at least three times over his career. I also had the pleasure of being taught by the late and great Michael Casswell in my youth whom put me on to Jeff Beck. The way I performed this piece is in the concept of flow and improvisation so it’s not exactly like the record or his live takes but it does capture the essence of perhaps some of the key concepts of his playing such as swells, using the fingers, harmonics, whammy bar vibrato, vibrato with the bridge and dynamic playing. I used a Marshall Plexi patch for the sound on the Quad Cortex. The bass is kept very low. Delay and reverb. Jeff’s tone was really all in his hands. Performing like Jeff takes a life time to achieve but I do hope you enjoy my take on this classic guitar instrumental! 🎸🔥
