Hey my Tele Thinlie 72 friend! I got one CIJ left handed thinline 72 too. I bought it from Katana Guitars in Tokyo. It came all the way to Canada. Love this guitar! I play through a Fender Prosonic. The pedal I use the most with it is the Fulltone Fulldrive 2. This guitar doesn't need effects. I sometimes use a Pulsar vibrato too. It has a tone of it's own. Not like a Gibson, but not like a regular Tele neither. I have a regular american Tele and they are very different. You play very well!

Yeah I was thinking about the 1 meg pots. The only thing is that I'm left handed, so normally it would need to be reversed...
The neck pickup is my only concern. It's a little bit muddy.

They make them anymore, but you can find them on Ebay. It's more like a bassman than a Twin. It's not a crystal clean amp. It breaks up easily on the Class A position. There's a rectifier on the back which gives you Class A, Class A/B and Class A/b with a non-tube grid. So it's a 30w-45w-60w amp. The drive channel is incredible! You can go from jazz/blues to Hard Rock!
The only downside is the effect loop plugged in serie which makes it "hot". A delay is ok, but chorus... not so much.

    Oh I didn't know about the 500 k pots...
Yes, my Prosonic Fender is a full lamp amp with a great drive channel, which sounds like Santana when in a certain setup, so combined with the Thinline it's the perfect Santana Sound!

Totally agree wth you Poprip, this guitar has its own sound..i've been playin it straight thru the amp for a few months and am still vry impressed with the tone..even playing it in the distortion channel (Fender Champion110 30W solid state) it still sounds as musical..Neck PU with high gain can gv U tht Santana PRS tone too..vry versatile..One of the +ve points for CIJ is tht the pots used are oledi 500kΩ (I hv seen them when repairing PU selector; the inside finish is incredibly clean!)

Ya most ppl say humbucker needs 500kΩ or 1MΩ to open up its sound..MIM '72 Thinline is using 250kΩ, many ppl complaint its muddy tone and needs mod or even change PU sadly..I heard that the original 72 was using 1MegΩ pots and that is how they made it 'wide range'..not sure how true is that..You makes me feel like trying a Prosonic!
