A Year in the Life with Autism: Day 66 work!

- When we have nothing left mentally and physically and have no idea what's wrong with Kreed...we get to work. We check meds that could cause irritation, and we put him to work. We keep his mind active and don't let him just lay or just demand things all day. Instead of laying outside, we keep him busy with new games. We argue on his device. If he wants pizza, he has to help make it.
It was a long, long day. The good news is he went to sleep last night and so far has had the best sleep in weeks. We shall see how he wakes up.
When we have nothing left, we just keep going and moving.
Love you Kreed! I miss seeing these videos. RIP amazing guy.

your the best mum i have ever seen you never get cross repeated your comments to see he understands you clear that is so good for kreed .lovely boy how old is kreed.I had learning problems and still can,t do forms.my mother promise i would get my home when she died she told me I get the deeds too..i never got them my mothers new husband never cared for me .so he sighed the deeds over to him self and sold my home.were I ended up nearly on the streets in the end i became a sitting tenant.I no my mother she would not do this to me but I have lost I am still very upset about it.I am glad kreed has a loving mum because mine did explian any changes to me like you do to kreed.

I praise you for not blaming vaccines like some people on youtube. it is completely asinine that they promote their garbage. autism just happens and blaming vaccines will not help people who have autism, we have to look in the right spots to determine what causes it and how it can be treated in a more effective manner.

i wonder how kreed is doing these days? I hope he is doing well. so interesting to see this behavior and documenting it will help understand this condition in the future hopefully.

Obviously I don't really know but I wonder if he was saying he wanted pizza, but meant take out pizza, because the home made pizza tasted different or something and he couldn't figure out how else to express it?
I dunno, possibly looking too far into it, but it really appeared as if he seemed to be thinking about what to say before he said it on the device. Do you know if he can differentiate between take out pizza and home made?
They were just doing the best they can. He's food obsessed and often asks for 5 Guys while they are at 5 Guys. She can't just order pizza all the time. I'm sure she understands his needs. 💓

Well, I noticed when she showed the picture of Kreed making the pizza I saw the ingredients in the photo were almost always to always gluten free. Some people say that being on the spectrum can make you allergic to gluten and so they have their Autistic kids go on a gluten and/or lactose free diet to improve behaviors. So maybe that’s why she makes the pizza for him herself. She never mentions him going gluten free but I guess she makes him. But, “I’d like pizza,” “Oh, what do you have there? Oh, that looks so yummy!” No, hun bun, it does NOT look yummy at all. I wouldn’t eat it. Especially since I’m very finicky about how the sauce is on my pizza.
So I’d like to know why they just make it now rather than ordering it?

Kreed loves food as a reinforcer because he loves popcorn other favorite food is animal crackers he is nonverbal if he chooses
A favorite activity is bowling and hobby is wii bowling my friends loved wii they played it at school and kreed loves to go shopping
His favorite store is Walmart or target and his favorite pet store is petsmart he yells he fights his mother had get him back in the car
To drag him into the parking lot kreed is a young man when he can come in every day he gets his music therapy then in the morning he feeds the dogs
She can Put him back into the backyard.
Questions did kreed go to high school on certain days of the week Erin?
Does he stay home full-time now ?
Is there a daytime facility for adults in your community ?
You mentioned medication • has that been a big help to you*all ?
I have 3 children on the spectrum …
a 16 year-old daughter with Asperger’s
a 10 year-old non-verbal son that’s having major issues this year
my youngest son is turning 9 soon …
& he’s starting some echolalia type speech …
we also have a foster son that’s just turning 3 …
he’s typical but has a slight speech delay.
Your son is definitely communicating with you & reaching-out.
Our middle son refuses to use his speech device.
He used to play with his IPad but not at-all anymore.
He doesn’t watch TV anymore either.
He wants to spend all day outside playing with water.
We just started using medication for him.
The nighttime medication has really been helping …
but the 1st daytime medication made his self-injurious behavior go off-the-charts - he’s only on the sleeping medication now.
Are you planning-on keeping him home indefinitely ?
I had my middle son home full-time from November until about a month ago.
He’s having a terrible time at school this year.
We just got him into a school designating for special needs …
& he’s still having issues.
They’re wanting me to pick-him-up all the time.
With the self-injurious behavior, …
it was just proposed to us an inpatient facility not too far from our home.
We don’t feel ready for that & are pursuing the medication route …
with scheduled appointments with a psychiatrist MD & neurologist coming-up.
Your videos are great for awareness of what we go through on a daily bases.
This is the 1st one I’ve seen.
Maybe I’ll do something similar too.
The disability keeps us mostly isolated …
& the world doesn’t see this very often.
I guess more & more people are sharing Autism on UA-cam.

I thought that's a butterfly clip to keep stitches together, you can see his face is badly scarred from his self harm. He probably had a deeper abrasion.
