Picked up a couple of Zebra F-701’s last week for me and my girlfriend. Fantastic pens. Smooth clicking and reliable. The previous black plastic ring by the clicker appears to now be made of some metal alloy, aluminum perhaps? It’s slightly different in colour than the body.
I use a pen a lot at work and switched to this from the regular 701s I’d been using for years. I love it. It’s pretty perfect for edc. My only complaint and it’s minor is that the black finish wears quickly if you carry other metal things in your pockets
@@KevinclearysharpstuffI am making Altoids stationary EDC kit. Please suggest - 1) Liquid glue which can be used repeatedly 2) Transparent tape which can be cut without scissors 3) Compact slim stapler
Check the F701. I had the model you featured for years then found the F701. The top piece is all metal instead of the black plastic and the clicking action is way smoother. If you like this one the F701 is that much better for about the same price!
Just put this on my ebay watch list, thanks. Should I get the $9.94 one or the $86.73 one? I have only carried (pants) pocket pens for several months - Lamy Pico, Fisher Bullet, Pokka. No trendy Field Notes for me, though I do keep a note pad in my backpack. I always LOL at "tactical pen".
I use note books all the time. I use one that is narrower because some pockets don't accept all notebooks. Also I use fountain pens so paper makes a difference.
Do you not find the 701 a little scratchy? Its very light and it doesn't grip very well. I can't make my mind up with this pen and I think the Zebra FxMD is superior for 50% less IMO
I'm a fan of the F701 and the sarasa that I modded with a clip from a 701. If you like fine point ink refills check out the ohto np .3mm it fits the 701 if you add a small piece of Qtip handle.
I really like Zebra pens I own the F701 and X701. I also like the Fischer Space Pen. I just picked up a Skillcraft pen/pencil wanted to replace pen and pencil with a single item. I do love the X701 though.
I use a little Moleskine that comes in a pack of 3, and the pen that I love the most isn't this plasticky-feeling X-701, but Zebra's stainless steel F - xMD. It's built like a tank!
.20 ''Great Knife''. Old habits are hard to break, eh. NASA had a contest for a space pen when I was young. A kid from Germany suggested a pencil. Fischer eventually came out with their pen and I bought the first version. Just ordered the X701. Didn't realize it was this good. It's in the mail. I write notes for everything since buying my first Daytimer agenda book when I was shooting fashion photography in Montréal in the 70's-80's.
Agree on the space pen, not a fan. I fell in love with Zebra like 30 years ago. I'll get Zebra refills whenever possible, the Japanese have a way with these things.

I'm glad they improved it. I love companies that are johnny-on-the-spot when it comes to listening to what their customers have to say.

yeah I could see that for sure
Not as minor as you say, mine looks like a piece of shit after one day of carry.

The X-701 is reliable and sturdy. Best budget tac pen out there. Very happy with it. Highly recommended.

Are the refills standard size?
I like gel ink.

Can it write on skin. I tend to write stuff on my hands a lot. And what refills can it take that you would recomend

Was wondering how the X-701 would be. Thanks for walking through the review! Have to go order one now!
Its very good if you like a thin line
Did you get one - I don't really like it!
Field Notes books are awesome! Very good for taking down quick notes/phone numbers/grocery lists

Good afternoon. I carry my Field Note in my bag every day. I like to jot things down. ( I too have a Zebra F701).
Beautifully said imma buy one!!
X-701 is Global friendly to security officers and pressured aero craft’s cabin😊
Thanks for the review. My problem with the Zebra pens is the ink cartridges, don’t last long.
What pen was it the your friend sent you I love the look of it.
We knife Co TP02
What was the wit02 pen?
I have carried a Zebra for years. One with a stylus though.
Nice review. Keep up the good work
It’s a nice pen with a good feel to it!
Was the bolt action one from ur friend custom? & is it available?

yes they do
I agree with you!
The pressurized ink cartridge is a deal breaker.
Why? If you don’t mind me asking?
@@somedudeona6367 Please go back and listen from 8:30 to 9:10. I would not like the glob of ink forming at the tip of the pen.
Frank Salem oh that’s why? Just click it so it’s not pressurized anymore lmao
They make nice pens, very affordable !😍👍
You said great knife...lol
you have no idea how many times this happened that got edited out
I guess if you're John wick there really isn't a difference between the two. 🤣
Tactical PEN??? Lmao
Yes tactical pen 🖊️ x701 is military certified.
