This is the first video I've seen on Wayfinder, and I'm excited to give it a go. It's positive that you're receptive to critical feedback and seem willing to adopt it. I didn't notice a release date, is that undecided upon?
"the team is committed to working alongside the players to make the best game we can make." so devs without passion and vision how their game should look like so they hand their project to community to lead them.. well lost my interest
@HeroicApple Not sure if the dude is actually a dev but its silly to suggest listening to the community is offloading responsibility or even bad. Also, the comment on passion is just goofy.
One thing I'd like to add is each character should have branching skill trees so that players can really customize their playstyle than having to rely on the the same skills over and over and just the weapon having different movesets and abilities. If they can also add custom character avatars it would make it so much more unique imo.
Or some sort of modification. That's why Warframe worked well, because the mods let you make builds that were meaningful and changed the way you could play the character. Like maybe you can mod into some CC and you play the character as a CC heavy DPS, or you can add range to skills, and have an easy time clearing rooms. or you trade in range and CC for more single target damage.
They went with the warframe model which I understand as they can design new kits often and sell cosmetics for each to fund the game long term much like Warframe does
@@conniescurse7325 I mean, it's just a hero based system like warframe, League, Overwatch etc rather class base like typical MMO, no big deal. There's 3 starter characters to pic but later on there will be more characters to unlock with more abilities anyway.
@@lazycat4331 It's a bit different than wareframe cause even in warframe you can create a character for you human 'pilot'. and the game sets it up as "suits you pilot" vs "characters you play as" it changes the players mindset going in i think.
Thank you for highlighting the lack of connection and personalisation to premade characters. It's been a main thing putting me off a lot of recent MMOs and I hate how it's become such a trend. Keen to see us go back to proper customisation.
This game looks great but I also agree that i wish it wasnt character based. Character based games usually dont have much of an emphasis on gear, so they have to rely on other forms of progression which usually dont visually progress your character, leaving any visual changes to be dealt with usually by MTX. The other issue you run into is the immersion break that happens when you run into someone playing the literal exact character as you, which only gets worse as the META gets solved and 90% of the playerbase starts playing as the current flavor of the month. I think Warframe can skirt this issue as the frames are just that, suits or pieces of tech, that are assembled/built, making it plausible that multiple people could acquire them. Still very excited to check it out, i just hope it has the depth and staying power to hang around. Love the graphcial/art style the most here. The mobile aspect scares me as well, the moment you mentioned that it suddenly clicked how mobile gamey the UI felt, and definitely explains the "only 4 abilities" combat, wouldnt want to confuse the poor mobile gamers by giving them too many things to think about. Thanks for the early preview!
Yeah, agreed on all counts. I really don't like the current trend away from custom, individual characters towards these preplanned character-based things. This approach has its place, of course (mostly in more of an e-Sports-focused environment), but all in all, the thing that keeps many players (myself included) around in a game is to develop a player character. I'm sure the devs like their character designs, but I as a player just do not care, nor do I have the intention to learn another fictional universe with absolutely no distinguishing traits. It may sound harsh, but honestly, I sometimes wish devs and publishers were less in love with the idea of creating some sort of huge fiction franchise at the cost of player agency.
Warframe can effectively based on the "frame" to make the role of the difference in the complex framework design and art, and can be highly customizable design of various colors and accessories, obviously in this game art style and model Detail unable to do this .
Your videos are always the best mmorpg content. The quality of production and the smoothness of your voice plus your knowledge of games makes watching your videos a must for any gaming fans...thanks for keeping the quality content rolling all these years. I don't think people realize the amount of work it takes to produce videos like this. I am a hobby content creator and I struggle with the video editing atm. I do learn a lot from your videos not just about gaming, but how to make better content.
Thanks for the kind words mate, for years I was quite self conscious about my voice but seeing in the comments that people think it's okay to listen to give me a lot more confidence, good luck with your own content creation journey

@@TheLazyPeon Wow...very unexpected to hear that about YOUR voice when it sounds so good, but I guess in each of our minds we always hear something wrong....humans. Thanks for the response...didn't think a little guy like me would even get read by you.
I think them labeling it as "MMO-lite" in the market is going to hurt them in the long run. They need to market this as a third-person dungeon crawling action RPG. People who play MMOs want the personal customization and expect more out of the gameplay and questing, like in this video.
Exactly. It's like their devs are building one type of game for a specific market (mobile dungeon crawler with bite-sized instanced dungeons), and the publishing department didn't get the memo on what type of game it is or who they should be marketing it to.
I very much agree that combat and movement need to feel amazing for this to succeed long term. It's easy to forgive a lot of little things when it just feels so awesome to be doing anything.
This game looks neat, will try it out when I get the chance. Got massive respect for you Peon, keep up the goodwork its always nice to see these videos of yours the edit is rly on point! Btw the l2 soundtrack at the begining of the video was rly a nice touch, got some nostalgia from it eheh
The character-based element is definitely gonna turn a lot of people away. I feel like it could be easily remedied though, with just a touch more customization when choosing your Wayfinder. Nothing crazy in-depth, just basic surface level things that help players identify with their Wayfinder more - Gender, eye colour, hair colour, and body type would be the bare minimum I'd want to see.
With MMOs specifically, character customization is probably among the most important things for me. I've definitely passed on otherwise great games for the simple fact that I couldn't customize my character.
I absolutely feel this way. For some reason, I dont enjoy using "pre made" characters. I feel like having that personal touch creating your own character adds to the immersion. I mean, unless they add a degree of customization, I can't say I'd appreciate seeing something with the exact same style as me.
@@zozihn8047 Borderlands is the franchise that had the biggest success in gaming history with character based games. However, this game is going to be killed off for a few reasons, and one being NO PVP in the game this year or maybe even next year if they don't decide to focus on it.... Then the character lock, because even if they did add customization, it's not going to be enough to entertain those wanting to feel unique cause while playing the beta, all characters looked the same to me with some having their armor a different color which isn't anything lol.... Blue Protocol is going to destroy this game, and the Riot MMO probably will too. Once Human looks pretty good but it is just another Day Z clone.
Glad to see a content creator, at last, pointing out how close this is to a mobile game. I got Torchlight Inifinite vibes constantly when playing it, except it's in third person. The flow, graphics, presentation and UI are all very mobiley. Seems to be getting overhyped everywhere. A lot of people are going to be disappointed with this one.
@@swickster Great for those people but a lot seemed hyped because they think it's something different. I was one of them myself, before I got in the beta.
I get your point but I feel they just wanted to keep your UI clean instea of giving you 50 different abilities all over your UI and you only use say 4-5 for rotation, like GW2 only gives you a few abilities on your UI at time I like the looks of this so far, but more to your point I hope it gives players more abilities than just the same 4-5 so different weapons do different skills and said weapons also have different skills so not everybody is building the same or does the same dmg, conditions, etc just cause they are the same class
I tend to agree the things which hook people the most are oftentimes the mechanics of combat being good and feeling a connection to your character. Combat doesn't necessarily need to be next gen or super novel, but it should have a certain level of depth, decisionmaking, expressiveness, and a chunky feeling. Osrs is an example of a game which is really old but still hooks people like crazy because the combat actually has a ton of depth to it, I'm doing the inferno right now myself and sheesh, as well as instilling a super strong feeling of player-character connection. My osrs character IS ME in that world, in a sense. This game does seem like it was designed too much with cross-platform and mobile in mind, throwing away some of the things which make mmorpgs so addicting
This has been on my Steam wish list for a little while now. I was actually hoping you'd do an assessment before it came out. Thank you for saving me time and great content as always! Cheers!
Genderlocked hero characters, there goes like 60% of potential players, including me. Works in Vindictus because it always had awesome combat and customization, pretty much since release.
Agree 100%. I played this beta version for about 30 minutes before uninstalling. This for sure feels like it's going to be a mobile cross platform title.
The game looks pretty good visually. I like the stylized graphics and the environments don't look too shabby as well. But in terms of combat and gameplay it really does seem like a one trick pony. Like you're only good for going into dungeons and killing things; rinse and repeat. Maybe add some mini games, like you mentioned, so the game doesn't become dried up so quickly. Also, I noticed when you were in the tavern that none of the npc's were sitting down or moving at all. Like they were all standing up and still as if the only time they move or become active is when you speak to them. Which imo makes the game seem boring and bland if the characters or inhabitants of the world don't make it seem lively, at least with some type of movement or autonomy. It is only closed beta but I hope they implement some drastic changes as the game does seem to have some potential there, it just needs to be explored a little bit.
Many more player to player social activities are already in the works and yes the vast majority of NPCs in this beta build are placeholder. This is the risk of showing beta game footage, but the feedback is incredibly valuable and will continue to directly influence the development process!
It's early access pal what was shown was very early beta stuff most of the NPC's are still placeholder Etc it's still a long way from being released also
I'm loving everything I'm seeing about this game so far EXCEPT the whole thing about not being able to make your own character... yeah there's a lot of customization, but I can say for myself that I feel way more connected playing with a character I made myself.
Personally very excited for this game. I respect your honest opinion without going way over board one way or the other. You seem pretty mellow and just sharing a honest opinion. While I feel we may disagree on some things here I like your video.
I feel like the key to a hero based mmo-lite like this is both cosmetic customization and playstyle. Warframe made the really smart call to allow people to truly customize how their frame looks and plays. Yes warframes have a set suite of abilities but different weapons and builds really build that out and allow for some deep customization. Since this is third person it's even more important because players really appreciate making their character look unique. After many years now no two frames in warframe look alike at all and they probably won't even play that similar. The level of cosmetic customization is insane. This IMO will be key to this game succeeding because some, maybe even many people will tune out if you're aiming for an mmo experience but everyone just looks and plays the same running around. It's expected in a hero shooter like overwatch or mobos like league of legends but MMOs really need that sense of having a unique character. Since you opted out of letting people create their own here the only saving grace you're gonna have is some deep customization in both cosmetics and playstyles.
I personally like playing as a character, its fun to pick a favorite and get into the lore of who the character is. Its also fun to speculate future characters(wayfinders) that will be added to the game. Think any MOBA or games like Apex and Overwatch
It really needs allot more characters for something like that to work though, kinda offputing to see tons of other people looking and playing the same as you
MMO's are different than MOBA's tho. More fun to spend hundreds of hours to level up, gear, etc on your own character than premade character in my opinion
Ya, I agree that this only works when there is enough playable characters. Not sure what that number is, but I think it has to be at least 10 to start as they add more over time. I'm surprised they are launching with 6. I know its only early access so hopefully they add at least 2 or 3 between then and full release later this year.
It's interesting to hear about your preference for a personal player character in this game. Like with Warframe I kind of just accept it as a component in the game experience and it seems to fit. Partly because of the narrative aspect as you mentioned but also because I don't mind playing as various premade characters. I find the character variety engaging as long as the design is good and they're doing okay imo. It'd be cool to do a poll on this like how many mmo players prefer or are indifferent to this kind of characterization.
Vote: +1 Player made character. (As soon as I heard it was premade characters my interest dropped to zero. With a premade you're just going through the paces. It's not your character. It's not your journey. This is really driven home in a multiplayer game where everyone looks the same. You are Combat Unit 9835, reporting for souless grind. Mind you even with a character builder this game is still a souless, pointless grind. I want MY character to go on a journey in an MMO, not someone else's character to run on an infinite treadmill to nowhere.)
@Pototo Potato the difference with warframe is each warframe is a suit of armor and in lore there are multiple lokis or embers or chromas. Whereas this just breaks immersion all the time.
I'm getting Wildstar vibes from the art style, colour palette and even the graphics. If Wildstar was to be made in 2023, I imagine it looking just like this.
@@foureyeddragon00 They kinda shot themselves in the foot catering to a dwindling hardcore player base when MMO's were moving toward the casual market. I do wonder if it would perform better today now that people are a bit sick of the casual style again.
@@porcu12345 there where many many problems. In fact it was nearly clear on release that the game can't last for long. The team was broken and there where many decisions (like the self made engine from a guy who wasn't part of the team anymore) that made Wildstar a big technical mess. :/ There is a documentary of the development of Wildstar. This is also the point, why Carbine was disbanded 😢
Watching you play gave me the same itch from this game as DarkSiders 2 gave me back when I first played it. The artstyle and the combat system, considering that was my first action combat rpg game-ish back in the day. I love the most how I can practically see DE using all the systems they refined over the years in Warframe here over in this game. Such as the summary panel with stats and loot collected at the end of the dungeons. Or (from other vids too) how you can modify gear by using some items like exactly the same as mods that change weapon modifiers in Warframe.
I was in the earlier tests, and I agree with you. I want to like the game, and there's a lot to like, but the combat and mechanics just aren't good enough to support a live service game.
The connection to my ESO Khajit is unbreakable. She is such a cutie! ♥ I really like that you mention it multiple times that playing premade heroes is not very suitable for most MMO games.
Not being able to make my own character killed it for me then I stopped playing the beta when I realized I couldn’t go back and choose a different way finder I was stuck with what I chose at the beginning

@@Hagosha that doesn't make it a better design. And it's still reasonable to assume that you could delete and start over. Maybe they thought it meant they could only make one character at a time, as opposed to only character you can ever start with on this account
i find it so cozy that you use the lineage 2 OST in the background all the time... reminds me of the simpler times, hanging around in Giran, grinding mobs ;)
Always love your honest videos as you give feedback and always state that it is your opinion, wish more UA-camrs did things that way. One of the reasons why i have huge respect for your videos and always am interested to watch them
This game does look good, the art style, the combat etc... But having to pick out of a list of heroes rather than creating your own character is a huge, huge deal breaker for me.
The cool thing is that since this game was announced the community that started gathering around, asked for no premade characters, but for full customizable characters by players. The devs replyed with the sounds of crickets.
Looks like it could be a cool time waster if they expand on it, make the combat more varied, etc. People say they want HARDCORE DEEP MMOs, but the people who actually do seem to be a rare breed. Who knows... thanks Craig.
The problem for me isn't not being able to create your own character. It's that you're stuck with the same "hero" abilities and playstyle throughout the whole progression. And, you only slot points into those 3 or 4 abilities. Thats gonna get boring fast! Most MMOs keep people playing because of the class based progression - unlocking new abilities and those new abilities changing your playstyle. Its the "ohhhh, what am I gonna be able to do next". Then, making those abilities even stronger. Without that, plus the shallow combat, what's the hook for this game exactly? They may base it on Warframe, and people who play Warframe sing it's praises, but not many people (relatively) play Warframe.
MMOs with named characters instead of character creation bugs me because now you will see 20 of the same character running around in the hub but the art style is cool and Im not going to hate it before I try it.
hits needs a bigger impact on the enemy, doesnt have to make them stagger, but some nice impact animations to give hits some awesome bang feeling. also the running animations needs aaaa lot work. Assassins Creed 2 animations already more than enough
I think the "mobile" feel you get from the UI comes mostly from the fact that the game will be full crossplay on realease, so it was adapted for consoles (would be nice if we could edit the UI on PC though) Didn't play any of the betas, hopefully the next one, really excited to get my hands on it :)
i think your feedback is pretty valid, the customization i don't agree since that is the core of the game's idea, kinda like Warframe, but the combat system, sound feedback etc, totally agree
Lineage 2 - Dion Town Theme is one of the best tracks that I've heard in a MMORPG. For those who are wondering what I am talking about, it's the song playing in the background at the beginning of the video.
In warframe there's 49 warframes rn and I stopped played a couple years ago when there was even less. I used to play whatever other people wouldn't (excalibur before all the rage with umbral release), nova and mag. I do understand what you mean about not connecting to the char and this could be a problem here, why? Well warframe allows you tons of customization from the get go (color palettes do wonders) so you get something very "you" and even though abilities are cool, weapons play a big part too and sometimes you can even ignore your warframe abilities just for the sake of some pure gun play something that doesn't seems apparent in your gameplay, you are stuck with a char for some time (same as warframe) until you unlock a new one that you might not like but nowadays you can unlock warframes very easily. One thing I liked a lot about the progression system in warframe was the mod system, it was nicely done and allows you to feel progression throughout your entire warframe arsenal and even a level one can be strong, as long you have the energy slots (or whatever is called) to equip them in said warframe, here is just more unnecessary grind until you can have fun with a character, why? Feels off, feels the same as Warframe making me forma something 5 times to make it "usuable" and max my Mastery rank XP... also I hate mobile UI in PC but if the core gameplay is good, that can be easily overlooked. Hope the devs change a few things and then this could be a cool game worth spending more than 40ish hours
I was interested in game due to it having similar visual taste to wildstar, which was my favorite mmo of all times. (I am still mourning yes.) No custom character is absolutely the biggest turn off for me. I will never choose a "mmo" that doesn't allow me to make my own character. If devs want it to be story driven, go check Swtor, which actually has a ridiculous main story driven content for each class, and you still get to keep whatever you make of your character. After watching this video, this is looking more to me like, warframe-sque linear-instanced mobile game. Come the hell on, we have a lot of these already. And honestly, I doubt anyone would like to see 100 of same character running around anymore. Peon played a bit here for us, leveled, did some bosses, and visually I don't see any improvement on his character, and the options he got are so limited. Almost sad, these stuff are not secret, most of the mmo community appreciates customization and diversity between player avatars. And this should be popping off in the very first QA that any company that undergoes such "mmo" endeavour. Companies should stop reading DATA that you get from china and indonesia etc. from data analysts like all mobile game companies to create copy paste content to create the most bland grinding experience. -no char customization -instanced areas and dungeons like wf, dauntless etc. -bland combat -questionable need for multiplayer from multiple videos I saw. This could very well be a SP with better content. (but some people think singleplayer games dont make bucks.) -Battlepass from the get go, lmao, whoever created the idea of battlepass should.. you know. Hard pass from me, I don't see anything that is worth the time or money. I hope they turn this into something better so it will be something to comeback and reconsider.
I played for 29.5 hours straight between Wednesday and Thursday. Only two other games have ever done that to me. WOW and Elden Ring. Can't wait to get home for more.
I don't mind the idea of playing as a character. Once the game has been out for a while and there is more Wayfinders i feel like it might be less of an issue.
This game gives me very strong vibes of a single player game that the devs devided to try and turn into an MMO, especially with the way combat is. It reminds me of Kingdoms of Amalur, or Genshin Impact, or.. well, any number of other games
Wayfinder looks promising, but in my honest opinion, it doesn't capture the true feel of any mmos out there. The expeditions kinda reminds you of Kingdoms of Amalur's dungeon, but overall, the game somehow builts on the principle of Genshin Impact. Kingdoms of Amalur has a wide range of customization, mix and match of visual and stats equipables and weapons, plus there's a complex way of blending playstyles and classes. It's just felt like Genshin, you've got a pre-made character, increase it's stats, and go to dungeons or domains.
Just found you, subbed! We live in Chonburi on the beach, still... I miss WoW. Using only Mac and prefer tab-targetting to reticule. 3BB brought in fiber and I'm looking for suggestions and reviewing your massive library now. Thanks LazyPeon.
this looks like what the riot mmo would look like, especially the first character you played really reminds me of akali from league. edit: ok you just said the same thing at 6:15 haha.
I think everything except the last one about making your own character is valid. Every other critique is an improvement on existing systems. But if playing as a preset character bothers you(the proverbial you) that much then just play a different game. That's not the kind of game the developers wanted to make and it's basically asking them to change a core and fundamental aspect of the game. Aside from that one point though I think your analysis is spot on
Personally, this is what I think: 1. They would monetize new character releases in some form. 2. Combat is floaty. 3. Good futureproof artstyle. They should've used Darksiders, especially 2 as reference. Right now it feels closer to AQ3D.
Funny. I thought the same thing. I played about 2 - 3 hours of the beta and said, "Eh... I'm bored. I'd rather play something else" and moved on. I left them nearly the exact same feedback as you.
Would be awesome if there was a story line where you would get your own character that can borrow all legends their abilities! But as a Warframe player for over 6 years i see no problems with it what so ever...
Playing the game Early Access and I'm really enjoying it. I like the pick up and play aspect of the combat. I haven't played Niss, but Wingrave has some taunt and healing mechanics that feel really good while supporting a group in a tough dungeon. I do think the dungeon layouts feel bare. As someone who's played 100+ hours of Diablo 4, I think my expectations were too high on how that style of gameplay loop could be done. The normal mobs throughout this game don't feel active enough. Most of the time content feels "hard", it's not combat or mechanic related.. I'm just underpowered. Overall I like the casual feel of it. I like the Wayfinder instead of character creation aspect, because it feels like a MOBA, if that makes sense. I wouldn't hate it if this game added Smite style pvp in the future.
I hope they still have their artists that helped them make the Darksiders universe, that stylized work was brutal like the old Christ Metzen art, it was gold that could easily carry a game like this.
not sure why people are calling the graphics "mobiley". It's similar in a lot of ways to Valorant. This art style is popular now but it's also timeless - it doesn't age poorly, unlike the graphical style of say Guild Wars 2 or World of Warcraft, which both needed graphical updates. It's also more accessible to a wider array of PCs, meaning more people can play it, and much cleaner imo - less visual clutter. I don't feel super optimistic about it but it looks kinda fun. Just wish there were some good sandbox MMOs coming up
"No custom character" - played Torchlight: Infinite and did not use that argument as CONS while the core is the same 🙃 Plus since it is based on Warframe core it will have "No custom characters" + "Dungeons get repetitive and claustrophobic" = "being bored" IF that is not your game style. So yeah not for everyone but could be very enjoyable for those who know this gameplay loop already.

@@TheLazyPeon I feel you on the voice part... am a small content creator and absolutely despise hearing myself whenever I'm editing my videos, I'll be listening and wondering how the hell does anyone stand listening to me for more than 5 seconds lmao. Apparently it's a common psychological thing.
Imo you sound absolutely fine ^^
@@TheLazyPeon I think everyone feels that about their voice, I cringe at hearing mine back but everyone elses sounds great lol
The gameplay and combat is completely fine lol, I played the beta and have full faith in the devs as they are very active with feedback
Agree 100%
I very much agree that combat and movement need to feel amazing for this to succeed long term.
It's easy to forgive a lot of little things when it just feels so awesome to be doing anything.
Ahh man the L2 soundtrack at the beggining just brought back a lot of memories...
This game looks neat, will try it out when I get the chance. Got massive respect for you Peon, keep up the goodwork its always nice to see these videos of yours the edit is rly on point! Btw the l2 soundtrack at the begining of the video was rly a nice touch, got some nostalgia from it eheh
Thats absolutely my thoughts... especially about nostalgy hearing L2 soundtrack in background - daaaaaamn gooooood ol' days
I thought i got crazy for a second there, was like "wait that's L2 music wth"
Maaan.... the Lineage 2 music in the background at the beginning of the video brings me back to middle and high school. I wish we could go back :(
The character-based element is definitely gonna turn a lot of people away.
In some respects, yes. However, people played the hell out of the Borderlands franchise.
Done right it can be good.
@@zozihn8047 Also Vindictus and BDO.
Aaa Dion flute.....flaschbacks, memories, nostalgy, so many wasted hours yet I treasure them like crazy.,
The graphics, art style and some of the combat feels a lot like Wildstar.
i can definitely hear Lineage 2 Dion theme in the backround :o
Love the ability to modify difficulty up to your skill, so you don't have to wait for a challenge.

Glad to see a content creator, at last, pointing out how close this is to a mobile game. I got Torchlight Inifinite vibes constantly when playing it, except it's in third person. The flow, graphics, presentation and UI are all very mobiley. Seems to be getting overhyped everywhere. A lot of people are going to be disappointed with this one.
what about the people who like mobile games
You do realise this art style was used in games before mobile phone gaming got big?
@@PhantomGardener I said nothing about the art style.
I really dig the idea of social areas :) Hopefully theyll manage to implement something like this into the game
It would be a bit weird walking around with a bunch of clones, seeing as there are only 3 to 6 characters to play.
Lineage 2 , Dion village theme song playing in the background ❤❤❤
I was in the latest beta as well with many hours played and couldn't put my finger on what was wrong. You summed it up nicely, thank you.
That sneaky Dion soundtrack...
Absolutely loves Lineage 2 music at the begging
Cheers!

Agree 100%. I played this beta version for about 30 minutes before uninstalling. This for sure feels like it's going to be a mobile cross platform title.
lineage 2 dion village theme at the start of the video, dude dont mess with my heart, old but gold days
It's early access pal what was shown was very early beta stuff most of the NPC's are still placeholder Etc it's still a long way from being released also
I always get goosebumps, when i hear Lineage II BGM, especially the one from the Village of Dion.
That Lineage2 music is soo good man 😁 best times in Dion town. Nice video btw 😁
They could make like Tower of Fantasy where you make your own char but can play with other characters
I don't dislike the idea, but those games characters have personality, they aren't just a husk with no emotions...
@@chalismaximus1 Wakey Wakey ...its exactly same how Warframe works, its just literally Warframe Company made Warframe in fantasy world...
I’m still sad Wildstar went the way it did and then got shut down.
@@foureyeddragon00 They kinda shot themselves in the foot catering to a dwindling hardcore player base when MMO's were moving toward the casual market. I do wonder if it would perform better today now that people are a bit sick of the casual style again.
It's because the style of this game is made by the same guy :D
@@porcu12345 there where many many problems. In fact it was nearly clear on release that the game can't last for long.
This actually looks interesting
The Lineage 2 Dion Theme song in the intro is nostalgic as hell. Good choice of background music!
I was in the earlier tests, and I agree with you. I want to like the game, and there's a lot to like, but the combat and mechanics just aren't good enough to support a live service game.
The connection to my ESO Khajit is unbreakable. She is such a cutie! ♥
I really like that you mention it multiple times that playing premade heroes is not very suitable for most MMO games.
Yeah my biggest question for this game was about the combat. Dont see this being anything Id play for more than a week, maybe two with friends

Lineage 2 music on the background... I will never forget that game's OST

Kinda excited for this one.
No you aren’t
@@nuggetmanman5459 what a weirdo you just commenting on everyone who's positive about the game lol.
Gender locked pre defined characters :( Big disappoint
The graphics and art style of the game reminds me of Dauntless
I think the "mobile" feel you get from the UI comes mostly from the fact that the game will be full crossplay on realease, so it was adapted for consoles (would be nice if we could edit the UI on PC though) Didn't play any of the betas, hopefully the next one, really excited to get my hands on it :)
Dion music... takes me back
i think your feedback is pretty valid, the customization i don't agree since that is the core of the game's idea, kinda like Warframe, but the combat system, sound feedback etc, totally agree
(I am still mourning yes.)
No custom character is absolutely the biggest turn off for me.
-no char customization
-instanced areas and dungeons like wf, dauntless etc.
-bland combat
-questionable need for multiplayer from multiple videos I saw. This could very well be a SP with better content. (but some people think singleplayer games dont make bucks.)
-Battlepass from the get go, lmao, whoever created the idea of battlepass should..
THE L2 SONG IN THE BACK OMFGGGGG YOU MADE ME GOOSEBUMPS
Thank you for using the *Lineage2 Dion theme song* in some of your videos
Takes me back ages every single time
I don't mind the idea of playing as a character.
Destiny?
Wayfinder looks promising, but in my honest opinion, it doesn't capture the true feel of any mmos out there. The expeditions kinda reminds you of Kingdoms of Amalur's dungeon, but overall, the game somehow builts on the principle of Genshin Impact. Kingdoms of Amalur has a wide range of customization, mix and match of visual and stats equipables and weapons, plus there's a complex way of blending playstyles and classes. It's just felt like Genshin, you've got a pre-made character, increase it's stats, and go to dungeons or domains.
I love everything about it but the character locked classes, this art style would've flourished with some awesome character creation.
Aside from that one point though I think your analysis is spot on
this is likely just going to be a Diablo 4 waiting room tbh. Most people will probably enjoy it for that purpose for a little bit
Personally, this is what I think:
I hope the developers take your advice on the tavern mini games, cozy and quaint idea.
I feel like this game looks like an 3D Grandchase. Premade Champions, Instanced PVE Dungeons. This game have PVP arenas ?
How are the appearances? can you see the items you equip, or is it skins only?
True open world Riot MMO with this sort of graphic style / art style would be amazing.
I hope they still have their artists that helped them make the Darksiders universe, that stylized work was brutal like the old Christ Metzen art, it was gold that could easily carry a game like this.
Yes one of the lead artists also worked on darksiders so that influence won't be going anyway trust me
Oh my god dion theme at the beginning almost made me cry of the nostalgia
not sure why people are calling the graphics "mobiley". Just wish there were some good sandbox MMOs coming up
"No custom character" - played Torchlight: Infinite and did not use that argument as CONS while the core is the same 🙃
Plus since it is based on Warframe core it will have "No custom characters" + "Dungeons get repetitive and claustrophobic" = "being bored" IF that is not your game style.
So yeah not for everyone but could be very enjoyable for those who know this gameplay loop already.
The Lineage II music in the beginning broke my heart 🥹😭❤️
Dion Town Theme kicks in... Video is 10 times more epic already
I think they need PVP that would be good
