Mine works great at 40 psi with only 2 cups of media. Beach sand, garnet, coal slag, walnut shells, crushed glass - a total sandstorm. The mod has cut compressor run-time by 1/2 and doubled production. I like your top-flip mod. Show how you did that, and how you sealed this leaky cheap blaster.

That part is a work in progress. I used a piano hinge and just used sticky back rubber on the mating surfaces. I have not figured out a way to latch it down. For now I just use a couple of screws to hold the top down. I need to put a latch on it.

@@rogertaylor8615 I put a piano hinge across the top. I used foam tape along the mating surface.

I have to admit, it does not work as well as I would like. What did I do wrong? I would appreciate your constructive input.

@@GrampysGarage steel pipe too long and small most metering valves are big to small towards that plastic elbow should not be an elbow as it not good for flow and smooth out any connections for better flow.

@@GrampysGarage The elbow restrict the flow plus to small, try get the biggest in hole 3/4 straight nipple you can. the valve should be closer to the other side to let it pull in air sooner in the somewhere between 3 to 4 inches (if you your valve you may need to be 5 to 6 inches) from the flap. The REG at cabinet should be set anywhere from 38-55 PSI going into the gun. (you have to play the psi and the air metering valve to find what work bet for your grit size and type you use) But your line Pressure should be ok. The air line from the compressor should be 3/4 inch or at least 1/2 inch to cabinet reg.
The high steady line pressure and lower psi to the gun help with life of your grit and making less dust in the cabinet.
