Mini-Linis on the push arms....Now that's DIY genius. I woulda hitched it to the roof going the other way which would have been FAR less "Almost safe" ;-)
I started to get into super basic car mounts lately and I’d like to start taking it to the next level. Where can I find info about getting the right pipes, suction cups, etc for a 25 pound rig. Thank you 🙏
I don’t have a direct answer for you short of getting to know other car-rigging grips in your area and learning from them. Someone else may have better feedback…
What are the name of those black things holding the spigot to keep the camera in place ? They are great but can’t find a name for them anywhere ! Thanks
@Emma_Kiwi Those are custome made by an LA Key Grip, I believe. They are not easy come by and are not cheap. Ping me and I will try to help hook you up if you are still interested. lseerveld@gmail.com
Use white or silver car for bounce. Or black for neg fill. Also please protect the weatherstripping! I know this is probably a rental so who cares but with private cars a piece of extra rubber between ratchet strap and the car weatherstripping does wonders.
Do you get the shot list to figure out how to mount those angles days before or you do it on the fly and create these in real time? I never thought of the door mount using that cheese plate.
It depends. For something like this it was probably just a conversation between the DP and Key that certain tools should be available. I don’t think Todd saw a shot list, but he’s seasoned enough to bring enough toys to make the mounts happen:)
Another way, with more time and parts, would be to build a speed rail frame/cage inside the vehicle, and providing a hanging point without touching the back door.
Inspired by your contributions and effort with these invaluable videos, thanks Luke
You are most welcome!
LOVED THIS VIDEO - MORE CAN CAR RIGGS - GOD BLESS
Car rigs and plaid shirts. The 90's grunge addict in me already liked this video. Might as well go on ahead and smash that button early! :-)

Do you mean the suction cups with baby pins or the double wheel heads securing the rods to the camera?

How'd the rear camera suction to the back to the rear window?
Perhaps safety glass is stronger than I give it credit for but I would have thought one good bump and it's shattering all over the place.

More car rigging, please. Especially for hybrid DSLR
