One of the best fabricators ever. Karl injects everything into his work. Great narration and he isn't afraid to make small mistakes and of course he will show and describe how to fix the mistakes. I really look forward to his productions. So Tank you Karl and Christina for all the input and lengths you go too to teach us. (Ireland)

Also in Australia, Some 20 + years ago, I found a pair of dress making shears , at the rubbish tip. Made in Sheffield England. You just cant buy scissors of this quality any more. After years of cutting everything from fabric , cardboard and even soft metals , they are getting due for a second sharpen

I'm retired now, but my last few jobs were in classic car shops as a chassis and driveline specialist. I had the honor of learning from 2 of the best coach builders in the northeast, Bob Wagner and Pete Conti. I got a call from Pete one night asking if I wanted to work with him doing not just old cars but hot rods, customs and racecars. I was ready to leave the shop because of a run in I had with the owner and shop boss. I had spent almost a month doing a custom wiring job on a limo that they kept adding and changing. The car had so many toys and gadgets I had run over 3/4 mile of wire, as well as putting a 12"x20' service panel in the trunk with every breaker, relay and circuit marked at its location, as well as the complete wiring blueprint in the panel cover.I took a day off to get a tooth pulled and as I walked in the shop the owner and the shop boss started screaming at me. at first I didn't even know what was the problem until I heard "the limo" . Then I knew. The 2 of them had been trying to wire that car for 6 months. When they knew they couldn't do it they dropped it in my lap. I had to pull every inch of wire out to get rid of the mess they made I had made sure that everything in that car worked when I took the day off, even driving it and parked it inside by the engine shop. I went to my fab shop and stopped to look at the limo. Andy, the engine builder came out of his shop and said "Have you seen the clusterf--k yet? they tore into that limo as soon as they remembered you were off. All I heard them say is what a dumbass you were, that wont work and move that over to the main feed. When they tried to start it, the panel you built caught fire".I locked my tools back up and walked to the door and was stopped by the owner who wanted to know where I was going and I told him "home so I don't beat you into the floor" That night Pete called. I know I drifted off the topic, but it is a good story from an old man who has seen and done a lot.

Great video as always... love the baby Buick! I am curious about one thing, it seems the last few videos have been washed out or oversaturated or something. You can see this at 49:07 it's over exposed, and then at 49:12 it's back to normal for a few seconds and a lot easier on the eyes. Makes it hard to see some of the details. Still love the videos, just wanted to give a little feedback. Cheers!

There are color grading tools in Premiere that will even out the entire timeline. You can also get plug ins that will give the whole project different looks like bleach bypass, etc. If you have to shoot outdoors, you need this to compensate for times of day, clouds, etc making the lighting all over the place. Indoors not so much.

the class isn't something I would be into, but I think it's pretty awesome that the person you learned from is willing to team up with you and do a class for your viewers!!!! I know there will be a lot of people who will be stoked about going and learning from you and the man you learned from and getting to use a lot of these tools to get a feel for metal shaping!!!! Awesome job, Karl.
Also, I am really liking the series you started on making the fender skirts for the baby Buick!! I think it will really make it stand out above the common body to something that will definitely be viewed as custom!!!! I bet your friend would be happy to see what you have done with it, Karl!!!! Great Job my man!!!!!!!!!!!!

Back in the forties, fender skirts included no reveal that would show a little tire. From the fifties on, fender skirts have "lifted their skirts" just a little, sometimes no more than an inch, but that small reveal shows exactly where the tire is, and they confirm that the back tire matches the front tire, same whitewall, etc. Without that reveal, for all anyone knows, there is only one rear wheel, and the car's a tricycle, or the tire's old and ugly. Nobody even knows how long the wheelbase is. Anyway, I'm saying put a little flair on the bottom; show a little tire; bead roll a little shape and lift your skirts just a tease.

Really enjoyed the "shout out", one of the only good aspects of this "plandemic" has been the connecting of so many, across so many distant and close "boundaries", and even those such as ourselves, just across the US-Canadian border. "We're all in this together" mentality, driven on us, has helped us all gather our thoughts and stand together in a way governments have never done, except for evil. Simply enjoying this "work effort" that crosses borders shows the reality of our "will to share" versus the government's efforts to lock down crossings. A few years ago, I only considered welding structure, bracing, and now I'm learning the "sheet metal working, welding, techniques" added to structure, not replaced. This particular collaboration, right from the start, is going into avenues not considered before hand. I've really expanded my tool collection substantially, watching you use tools I've known of but never tried. I say substantially, but not any real expense, just things like shrinking and stretching tools, and a few others that came because of not spending like normal, these couple years.
